I think Mallory would be worse if she was aware that Dale was the mole. That would be another slap in the face, and Kim getting his loyalty and support instead of Mallory.

I'm going to go back and read that section again when I finish my housecleaning.
It was really unclear as to who raped Billie. John Duggar clearly lured her there but I’m not sure who raped her. The book said he fled when he saw what was being done to her, the implication being that he wasn’t the rapist.
This feels still open.

Mallory hated her father and her other son so she wasn’t upset when they died. But she hated that Dale spared Kim when he could have killed her and remained a free man. When he became consumed by thoughts of Kim, at least from her vantage, she became insanely jealous.
I’m with you, Sharon. It would have been even worse if Mallory had known Dale was a mole.
I don’t think Duggar blamed Kim for his sister’s death. He made that statement without malice or heat. I will never understand how he led Billie, the only woman who’d cared about him, to that assault.

I think it was implied that John lured her there then fled and Mallory assaulted her then raped her with the bottle. Awful stuff.
Duggar had an extreme need to please but how was he able to allow what was done to Billie to happen? Did he really hold Kim responsible for his sister’s death? Would Mallory’s focus have changed if she’d known Dale was a mole, pretending to hate Kim in order to survive in prison?
