I don't know how the prison system in Britain works, but I don't see anything unusual for multiple people arrested by the same cop to end up together. Prison does get like minded people to band together. I agree with Kim that the prison officials should have picked up on the Hate Club and acted to break them up.
Someone on the outside was working to get Kim. Symes cellmate was released recently, he was my top pick to carry out the will of the Hate Club.
My second pick was Mallory Preece. She is the type of woman who would help them get Kim.
I figured there was someone on the outside that one of the members had contact with that who was either the killer or in contact with the killer. The first time Kim met with Symes' cellmate, John Duggar, I believed everything he said. I discounted him right there.
I’m used to seeing like minded inmates flocking together but Symes and Lord were two notorious, high profile criminals who never should have been housed together. Maybe I’m looking at this wrong but both were criminal masterminds who could elevate trouble inside and out.
I, too, focused on Symes’ recently released cellmate until he was ruled out. Then I got nothing. Just decided to follow the procedurals.
Sharon, I’m impressed that you tagged Mallory early on. I questioned her “mousiness” in the earlier story and at least got that right. But she never crossed my mind until it became clear she had access to the book.

Jonetta,I honestly thought I was on the wrong path with Mallory in the beginning. I'm rarely correct with my early picks.
You always say that you get it wrong but you nailed it this time. She never, ever crossed my mind.
