When Billie Styles assault was discovered, we learn that Kim had suffered repeated rapes at age thirteen from one of her foster fathers. In a previous story, we were given the impression that she’d been protected from assault by another foster child. Were you surprised to learn she’d not escaped assault? What do you imagine she’s feeling, knowing her team knows such intimate details of her past?

I was a little surprised, but we learn a little more about Kim all the time. It is difficult for a woman like Kim to let anyone know the pain and abuse she suffered. She wants people to see her strength. She doesn't realize that these revelations show her team a greater toughness than the saw before.

I was surprised. I did remember that Kim was protected from being molested by one of her foster fathers. I was surprised to learn it did happen with another foster family.

Kim believes the fact that she was raped makes her look weak. The opposite is true.

I was surprised, but it made me think that there is still a lot of Kim's past that we still don't know.

This knocked me for a loop, especially because in that previous story we learned how she’d escaped being assaulted in another foster family. I felt awful for her as I tried to put myself in her shoes. This is not something I’d want my co-workers to know, especially if I was their manager. You’re just laid bare.

Yes, as each book unfolds we learn more and more about what Kim as been through and it explains her character and how admirable it is.
