I was a little surprised, but we learn a little more about Kim all the time. It is difficult for a woman like Kim to let anyone know the pain and abuse she suffered. She wants people to see her strength. She doesn't realize that these revelations show her team a greater toughness than the saw before.
I was surprised. I did remember that Kim was protected from being molested by one of her foster fathers. I was surprised to learn it did happen with another foster family. Kim believes the fact that she was raped makes her look weak. The opposite is true.
I was surprised, but it made me think that there is still a lot of Kim's past that we still don't know.
This knocked me for a loop, especially because in that previous story we learned how she’d escaped being assaulted in another foster family. I felt awful for her as I tried to put myself in her shoes. This is not something I’d want my co-workers to know, especially if I was their manager. You’re just laid bare.
