Alison is continuing to investigate the case she was recently assigned to as the person they arrested doesn’t fit her profile. Was she out of line or was what she did justified?

Sharon Kallenberger Marzola | 3484 comments I don't know that I would call her out of line, more like performing a self-evaluation. She didn't know where she went wrong, and needed to adjust her methodology. She believed that her job was on the line. Her error would sit better if she could provide answeres to herself, her current bosses, and possibly to future bosses when they asked the interview question, "What was your biggest mistake?" I hate that question.

Robin (robinmy) | 2450 comments If Alison believes the police got the wrong guy and the police will no longer take her calls, I'm not surprised that she would delve deeper into the situation. She wants to figure out how she went wrong, or prove that she is right.

Lynn (ftbooklover) It seemed to me that it was meant to show Alison's tenacity as well as her confidence in her own abilities.

I never got the impression that Alison ever believed she got it wrong. She was adamant that Curtis was not the killer or the one who assaulted Beverly. She had her eye on Tom Drury who fit her profile so closely. Alison had her own shadow investigation going.

I didn’t think she was out of line but it was risky, especially as it turned out. Going solo wasn’t wise if the killer was still at large but she was justified in continuing to probe.

Lisa - (Aussie Girl) Allison feeling so guilty seemed a bit of an overreaction to me. People doesn't matter how skilled sometimes for whatever reason lose focus and get things wrong. Even though the stakes are so high in this profession. I think Allison punishing herself was part of why she couldn't let it go.
