When Kim and Bryant reach the scene at Chaucer House, he attempts to prevent her from entering the flat and seeing Amy and Mark. Should he have even attempted? Was he being a friend in that moment, helping her keep her balance or a bit of both?

I feel like he was being a friend. They went through so much resolving Dawson's death and Penn's arrival lately. I'm sure he was worried that seeing a scene that is so much like the one that haunts her dreams would put her over the edge.

Bryant's attempt to protect Kim before entering the scene gave her a minute to put all her shields up. I'm certain that Bryant knew she would go in regardless of what he did.

That’s a great point! I hadn’t thought of it that way (giving her time). I thought it was a bit of both but am inclined to your way of thinking.

Sharon made an excellent point. I didn't think about Bryant giving Kim time to prepare either.

I agree with Sharon, but I think he would have been hoping that she would choose not to go in even if that wasn't likely.

It was an immediate reaction on Bryant's part. As a colleague but even more importantly as a close friend. Trying to shield her from a world of pain. I like Sharon's point as well, knowing her so well it would be pointless to stop her ultimately going in but giving her a moment... yes.
