What NetGalley books do you currently have?
I have one of her books on my home shelf. The Uninvited Guests, which I still need to read. I'll keep the new one on my radar. I'm taking a little break from NG thrillers, lol.

I've read all of her books and they're all pretty good thrillers.
blew my mind and
was wicked good.
and
were okay.
I recognize her titles and have considered them in the past, but never actually read one. I'll have to check one out.
I received a widget for The Winners
by Fredrik Backman. It is the third book in the Beartown series. I can't decide whether to accept or not. I thought Beartown was excellent, but I don't remember too much about about the follow-up Us Against You. I did state in my review - "I don't know if I'd want to read a third book about these characters, even though there are a couple I really care about."
I've actually read all of Backman's books to date, except for the short story The Deal of a Lifetime. I generally enjoy them well enough. I'm quite torn.

Lucky!! I love Backman's books! I'm so excited for the conclusion of Beartown. The Swedish show based on the first book was really good too. Too good. (view spoiler)

Kristie, your review on Us Against You was really interesting. I gave that one 4 stars but in my review I see that I felt it was really dark, almost too dark. I'm really sensitive to political leanings in books as well but didn't notice it in this one which really strikes me as odd, on my end. I didn't mention anything about false foreshadowing either so that must have gone over my head as well! lol

I grabbed it bc I did enjoy the other two (Beartown 5 stars, Us Against Them 4 stars) so we'll see how this one goes. I'm glad it's not until later in the year though, I'm trying really hard to just focus on what I have at the moment from NG.
If you end up grabbing it, Kristie, I would be up for buddy reading this one if you want.
I think what I really remember about it that it was dark. I'm not sure I want a gloomy read where bad things happen to the characters I care about right now. Like you said, fortunately it doesn't publish for a while. I'll let it sit and I may change my mind since I really thought the first one was excellent.
I just got a few more ..
A Home for the Lost/Sharon Maas
Havana Highwire/John Keyse-Walker
The Woman in the Library/Sulari Gentill
Cocoon/Zhang Yueran

I just added The Homewreckers
and My Wife Is Missing
. I received a widget for My Wife Is Missing, but didn't accept because I had too many to read before publication. It looks good though, so I requested the audio and just got it. Clearly I was not not considering pub dates when I requested though because I now have four audio books to review and the last one published May 10th.

That MKA book looks interesting. I haven't read anything by her yet but I am on hold at my elib for Watermelon.
Yes, I thought it sounded fun! :) Just what I'm in the mood for right now.
Watermelon is by Marian Keyes, not MKA. I have that one on my TBR as well. I'll be interested to see what you think of it.
I've read two MKA books before and enjoyed them both. I think they were both 3.5 stars for me.

Oh gosh, right! I wasn't paying close attention, lol. I haven't read either of those authors yet. :)
I just got the audio of The Bodyguard, which I'm really excited for. I already had the Kindle doc, but this will make it go a little faster with the way I've been reading lately.
I also got a widget for Mad Honey, which I'll accept. It doesn't come out until October. :)

Added to my list are:An Immense World: How Animal Senses Reveal the Hidden Realms Around Us
The Memory Keeper of Kyiv
At the Breakfast Table
My most recent approvals:April: The Winners I saw some mixed reviews so am a little worried I won't like this one
May: The Final Hunt, on audio which I'm excited to do my first NG audio.
Lilisa, some interesting books! I am so excited to see that Defne Suman has a new one coming out! I ran over to NG just now to request it. I loved The Silence of Scheherazade but did notice that the ratings aren't as high for At the Breakfast Table. I'm looking forward to trying it though.

I'd love to hear what you think of the Picoult book if you end up reading it. She is an author I always think I want to read more of but never really get to her stuff.
I'll definitely let you know about Mad Honey, Tasha. I enjoy her writing.
I took a pass on the The Winners. The last book had more politics in it than I'd like and felt like it dragged a little because of that. This one is 688 pages. If it ends up being the same, that's a lot for me to get through. I've been struggling to get through anything lately, so I don't think it's a good idea for me right now. I kept the email though, so I can always change my mind later if my mood changes.

688 pages! I didn't even think to look before I took that widget. I didn't love the second one as much either so now I'm regretting my decision to auto jump on this one, lol.
I looked at the pages before deciding to accept or not and it originally said something like 464 pages and I thought it was kind of long. Then I was reading a friend review and she mentioned that it was close to 700 pages and she skimmed some of it, so I went back to look and it was apparently updated. I was glad I didn't get it right away. I hope you end up loving it.

I was denied the e-book for The Bodyguard but just requested the audiobook. Also requested Mad Honey, though I do have it preordered. Jodi Picoult is an auto-buy author and I can't wait to see what she does with Jennifer Finney Boylan.

I saw the rating for her new one - hoping it’s better than the ratings.
Hope you get them both, Elyse! I've never read anything by Jennifer Finney Boylan. I'm curious to see if I notice any difference.
I just received a widget for The Gatekeeper
, which I think I will accept. I'm just hoping I'll have enough time to read and review it... It published June 7th. Thinking on it.

Got a widget for
and also got approved for
! I've read one (maybe two?) Naigle books, they're sweet, nice little books. And I'm so excited for TJR's new book! Though I still haven't read
which was also a NG ARC!I also got a widget for
but I don't think I will accept. Not really my type of book and my horror readathon is over for the year.
I’m added a few to my list: The Pope's Man - which sounds really interesting
A Coastline Is an Immeasurable Thing: A Memoir Across Three Continents
The Forty Sieges of Constantinople, which doesn’t seem to have a link yet on GR even though it’s supposed to be published on June 30
Murder at Black Oaks
My Pen Is the Wing of a Bird: New Fiction by Afghan Women
Luckily, all publish dates are not coming up too soon. The exception is The Pope's Man, which was published in February and it looks like only one person on GR has read it! Hmm, hopefully it will be interesting - I liked the blurb, so fingers crossed.
I just got the audio of Stay Awake. I already had the ebook of this one so I didn't really add anything to my reading list, but I hope it is really good since I now have two copies to review. Looking forward to our buddy read!
I didn't even think about that, having 2 copies to review if you get both! I guess you just keep the same review but add a little about the format.
Yeah, I like getting both formats! lol. An extra review with no work needed! I have the e-book and physical ARC of Stay Awake!
I usually like to get both formats too, especially when I start to get behind on reads because I can get through my audios faster. Unfortunately, I've done it before and ended up not really loving the book. Then you end up having to put in two not so great reviews instead of one.
Kristie wrote: "I usually like to get both formats too, especially when I start to get behind on reads because I can get through my audios faster. I do not have that one. I don't think I've ever read anything by that author.
