I hesitated on The Sunflower House as well because I have quite a few NetGalley books but the November publish date convinced me too!

For sure - I feel so much lighter now!🤣

I have Sunflower House too :)
Great Dr. B and Shruti! Thanks for setting up the buddy read thread, Kristie, and I’m glad it doesn’t publish until November so we have some time.

I have The Full Moon Coffee Shop too. Do you want to do a buddy read?

Whoops, I was reading this thread on the phone browser and missed that. I have Full Moon Coffee Shop too
@Marnie and Shruti - would be great to buddy read The Full Moon Coffee Shop! I’m open to whatever time works best for you both and anyone else who wants to join. It publishes August 20.
Those are a couple of chunksters, Marnie! Brave of you to take on two at once.
I love both of those authors. I received a widget for By Any Other Name, but I'm hesitating to accept it. The blurb just didn't grab my attention and it is long if I'm not enjoying it. I'm not sure I want to do that right now.
Here One Moment sounds really good, but I have requested two of Moriarty's books in the past and been denied for both. It's strange, there are a couple of authors that I really like that I never get approved for. I can try though.

I just put in a request for Here One Moment, though each time I read one of hers I say I am not going to read her again. The last 2 I have read I rated 2 stars.
Having said that, this one sounds good so I am going to give it one more go.
GR says that I have read Truly Madly Guilty, but it might be a mistake bc I don't remember it at all, there is no review and there is no Read Date.
My review & rating for Truly Madly Guilty disappeared too, Vicki. Not sure what happened. It was the one with the BBQ and something happens during it. Everyone was complaining because it was promoted as having a big mystery and the event wasn't as big as it was expected to be.
I actually enjoyed it, but remember mentioning in my review not to get hung up on the BBQ because it didn't happen until at least half way through and wasn't really the focus of the story. It wasn't a great blurb for the actual book.

*sigh* I went ahead and took/downloaded this one.
I really struggle with this author but every time I try try again - so I'm hoping this will be the one I love! lol
I have quite a few in my queue before this one. . . When were you hoping to get to it?

I typically like to read one month ahead… but I’m open to whenever. If you want to do a buddy read I’ll work with your schedule.

Anytime in July is perfect - just pick a date and I'll put it on my schedule!

July 10 works great for me. I’ll make a thread
I have added a few recently. I was down to just 4 books and made it to 99% feedback ratio. I have now doubled my TBR. lol
House of Glass (added audio)
Here One Moment
The Sunflower House (accepted widget)

I would think so Kristie! Being at 100% would be sad, because that means you have no new books to read!Has this ever happened to anyone?
I saw an author I really liked (Blake Crouch) so I got excited and requested it (or maybe it was read now, I don't remember)
But when I got it and was looking at it further, it sounded familiar and Yep, it is a book already published that I already read.
I loved it and rated it 5 stars, but I don't want to read it again.
Because it is on NetGalley, does that mean there is something "new" about the book? Some reason why I should read it again?
Or do I just review it based on my read previous?
Oh, and my previous read was 10 years ago before I was even on GoodReads, but I do remember I loved the book.
I've seen them put books back on NetGalley when there is a change, such as a new edition, a TV show, a new installment in a series, even a new title... They are usually trying to get some interest built up again for a reason. If there isn't any information stating that there is additional or new content, it is probably the same book. If that's the case, I'd just copy and link my previous review. I would check the beginning and end of your new copy though to make sure it doesn't have a new chapter included or anything like that.
Vicki, I got the Blake Crouch book too and was disappointed that it’s a previously released book. I don’t think there is anything new to the book. I haven’t read it yet but the reviews make it sound like it’s exact the same as the older version. I would not reread it if I were you but maybe add a review on NetGalley…
I’m thinking there are new editions coming out. I actually own the Audible version and it’s not available to me on the app anymore. If I look it up, the old version is still in my library, I just can’t download it. The new version doesn’t publish until October and is only available as a preorder. The old version is gone from their library. I need to contact them tomorrow to get it sorted. I’ve come across 3 books like this recently and I only listen on the app. I know that’s a different issue than the ebook, but seems they’re making some changes with publishing. Oh, could also be that he changed publishers so they’re re-publishing. Hmmm
There is a series running right now on Apple TV: Dark Matter by Crouch. If that's the book you guys got, that's probably the reason it's out there again.
Tasha wrote: "There is a series running right now on Apple TV: Dark Matter by Crouch. If that's the book you guys got, that's probably the reason it's out there again."I’m watching that with my husband. This book is called Run.
Crouch's website says it's a reissue. They like to update covers when the author becomes popular so due to the Dark Matter show. The book probably isn't changed but it goes through the whole process again.
Ok, thanks for all the thoughts. It was a really good book if you like dark horror. I would recommend it.
I am going to update my review and send it in and call it a day.
I just had a long chat with Audible and was able to get the new version, but it doesn't publish until October, so I need to wait until then to download it. I think it sounds good and you gave it 5 stars, so I'll definitely get to it later.
I am SO excited that I got approved for
What Time the Sexton’s Spade Doth Rust, the 11th Flavia de Luce novel! Everyone thought it was done at 10! If you haven't read them, I highly recommend. They're about a young amateur sleuth in like 1940's England. Utterly delightful. The audiobooks narrated by Jayne Entwhistle are fabulous.
I have just finished
An excellent thriller, murder mystery set in Banff around the world of biathlon. I five starred it.

Oh, thanks!
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ for
I am not ashamed to say that I cried while reading Adnan by Mark Arrigo and loved this entire book from the powerful impactful message it imparts to the readers but also the artwork.
I got the audiobook for Masquerade by O.O. Sangoyomi. I requested it because I read Shruti’s review and it sounded interesting - thanks Shruti. Keeping my fingers crossed that I’ll enjoy it too.
I have Blue Light Hours by Bruna Dantas Lobatos waiting for me (now reading a library book, that one has priority/ needs to be returned) and The Best We Could Hope for by Nicola Kraus. Two more, White Mulberry by Rosa Kwon Easton and last but not least: Oldest Mom on The Playground by Judy Haveson
I started
yesterday, on audio. I have the ebook from NG but with my slower reading this year and needing to catch up on a few NG books I'm behind on, got the audio from the library. I think this may have been a buddy read here? I will go check.
That one looks interesting, Tasha. I'll be interested to see what you think of it. I also get the audios when I need to catch up sometimes.
I just got auto-approved for Random House Ballantine! I'm so excited! The only other publisher I'm auto-approved for is a picture book publisher lol.
Congrats, Elyse! That's awesome! I get a lot of their books, but I think most of them are widgets. Wish they'd auto-approve me so I could choose my own!

I'm currently reading "Linguaphile: a life of language love" which I love (Psycholinguistics and sociolinguistics were part of my MA), and have in order of publication these waiting for me:- Casualties of Truth - Lauren Francis-Sharma
- The Last American Heiresses - Stephen Greco
- Just Want You Here - Meredith Turits
- Wildcat Dome - Yuko Tsushima
- Love, Camera, Action - by Noel Stark
:-)
I stayed away from browsing for quite awhile so I could catch up and also read other books. I had two on my NetGalley shelf publishing next year, so went ahead and added:Eclipse by Keiichirō Hirano
Waterline by Aram Mrjoian and
We Do Not Part by Han Kang
