I'm interested in possibly taking the librarian test so I can attempt to become a librarian and help out wherever possible, but since I'm a college student and will be getting busy with school in a few months, I'm not 100% sure if I'll be able to regularly make edits every single day. Is there any kind of time-based quota to librarian work, or is it alright if there's a week or two when one doesn't do librarian stuff because of being busy?

There is no quota of work for librarians. It basically is a work when you want on what you want volunteer job. I know librarians that take months off and then jump in for a bit then disappear again.Keep in mind, even if you pass the test there is no guarantee you get selected as a librarian (and some aren't selected for months based on posts I've seen). That will be up to staff.
