I tend to use tags from cloths and candy wrappers that I don't throw away, so they float around my room until I stick them in a book lol!

message 10: by Kacie (new)

Kacie I don't use bookmarks very often. I just remember my page. but i have a couple Harry Potter bookmarks that i use, and some pressed flower ones that I made too. sometimes I'll use receipts or gum wrappers or something XD

message 11: by Bonnie (new)

Bonnie DeMoss (bonniedemoss) I read on Kindle mostly. But I do have a couple of bookmarks that authors have put in their books when they sent me ARCs, so I have used those on occasion.

message 12: by Linda (new)

Linda Amos | 48 comments Mainly bookmarks, but also use receipts, library loan printouts, corners torn from scrap paper. When reading a non-fiction book I tend to use a piece of paper to write notes on so I can look something up later.

I've recently started making bookmarks where I print off my favorite character's names in a color and font that I feel represents them, and then sketching a design that represents the book beside the name. They look cool!

Matty Bebopper | 462 comments Ooh that’s awesome!

message 32: by Claire (new)

Claire Nice question! I just dog ear, but since I can't do that on library books, I just note down the pages I read till on my phone, or I just flip it upside down if I'm planning to read it again soon.

message 33: by Sienna (new)

Sienna | 5 comments I use these old multiplication flash cards that my mom bought a long time ago, but I've been meaning to buy some actual bookmarks off Amazon.

message 34: by Ollie ☆ (new)

Ollie ☆ (nuclearspaghetti) | 4 comments I'm honestly terrified of the reactions I will receive for this but I dog-ear the pages or just leave the book open upside down. I am everything my grade-school teachers feared.

Lol, whatever works!!

message 36: by marybee (new)

marybee I just mostly use post-its because I always have a stash on my desk but I'm determined to invest in some "real" bookmarks soon haha.

message 37: by Anna (new)

Anna Beth | 125 comments I normally use homemade bookmarks, made out of cloth, but currently I am using a Q-tip!!

message 38: by Scamanderfan (new)

Scamanderfan I own a lot of bookmarks because my fav bookstore always gives you a free bookmark when you buy a new book. I tend to put a napkin or something between my book when I'm out and I don't have anything else and I never fold the corners of my pages, that is a booklover sin.

message 39: by Sam (new)

Sam (thirdcorv) | 1 comments I have a lot of bookmarks but what do I actually use??
NOTHING! I just memorize the page number or use a receipt.

꧁༺ L̴E̴X̴I̴E̴ ༻꧂ | 4 comments I use anything as a bookmark.

When I do actually remember to use proper bookmarks though, I really like ones with quotes on them.

message 43: by Colleen (new)

Colleen | 20 comments I use whatever is handy. Envelopes, napkins and sometimes a bookmark if it is available.

message 44: by Howard (new)

Howard Hill | 2 comments I use store receipts, matchbooks, playing cards, toothpicks... just about anything. I've even been known to use a sheet of toilet paper, when on the throne in the reading room and nothing else is handy.

Just ask if they have any free ones. Went into a book store and they came out with a shoeboxful and told me to have a rummage and take what I wanted. I did ......... much to the disgust of my youngest. :)
