On the eternal question of how long do you give a book before you give up on it, The Book Omnivore says she rarely gives up on a book. "If I just read it to the end, there just might be a twist that will make it all worth it...(it hasn't happened so far but I haven't let that little fact stop me from masochistically forcing my eyeballs to read bad books)." Katie (faintingviolet) | 44 comments I've turned the corner on this one in the past couple years. If I'm not feeling the writing by 50 pages/20% I usually bow out at this point unless there's another reason I'm reading. I do review my DNFs because the reason something didn't land with me might be the reason it does work for someone else.
