Fast paced

Hi. Can anyone recommend soke fast paced scifi books. I haven't read that many. Similar to blade runner or where its more easier to get into the story. Thanks!

Have you tried Lois McMaster Bujold's Vorkosigan saga? I am on the app, so I can't link, but the first is The Warrior's Apprentice.

The Expanse series starting with Leviathan Wakes, Leviathan, Project Hail Mary, Dark Matter (very fast paced!), The Quantum Magician and Rosewater are the first that come to mind!

Some of these are sold as YA because a fast pace is one of the main characteristics of books that can be marketed to the YA audience, but all of them can also appeal to adult readers (IMHO):



I haven't read all of them, but I've only included books that friends of mine have given good reviews and that I know are fast-paced.

I read Rendezvous with Rama last year. I wouldn’t call it fast-paced but it is relatively brief for modern standards. I really enjoyed it even if I had some issues (mostly things that dated the book). It’s worth reading IMO.

My husband and I are listening to Glenn Stewart's Starship's Mage series starting with Starship's Mage: Omnibus. We're on Book 5 and it's even faster paced than the first four. Loving it! Also second the Vorkosigan saga, it is a long-time favorite. I have reread it a few times. :)

Of these I really liked The Diabolic and I want to read Nyxia eventually.

Actually, I rated RENDEZ-VOUS WITH RAMA as a slow sleeper. I quit on A.C. Clark after that.
