oung Simon, recently and tragically orphaned, becomes a scribe in the following of the exiled Archbishop of Canterbury, Thomas Becket. The uncertainty of the tumultuous years leading to the infamous cathedral slaying is heightened by Simon's separation from his twin Edmund, who is in the service of King Henry II. With an expert pen Barbara Willard deftly recounts events leading to the bishop's martyrdom in 1170.

Post here random things about the book, where you are, what you think of the style etc.

Elizabeth Faustina (ourladysthimble) Oh, but fictional books can help you grow in your faith and broaden your knowledge! That's what fiction should be for! It can help you learn in a different way by making you think. And this particular book is more of a historical fiction book too, so you may learn something about the saint. It's up to you, though. :-)

Interesting.
I personally like reading fictional books based on the lives of saints a lot! I think it helps humanize the saints, filling in the blanks in their life. It inspires me so much.
But obviously we were all created unique, and all have different ways to help us get to heaven!

Anita Santana (anitasantana) One random thing is that I need to start reading the book. 😉😆 Sorry, so much reading these days.

Same! I already read it in 5th or 4th grade but I barely remember anything about it. XD

Anita Santana (anitasantana) Ok, everyone, I’m really sorry for not finishing the book in time. I’ll do better next time. I just have so much on my plate right now and certain things have to take precedent. But I did read over some comments and I’m glad you guys enjoyed the book!
