Aurora thudded down on the other side. Aurora’s tail went up. Snow barked loudly.

Aurora flattened her ears down “Hold tight!” Aurora called and raced north, moving very fast. Snow ran alongside her.

Aurora paused at a cypress tree. Snow started digging hurriedly. Around them, the trees varied from oak to redwood.

Aurora tilted her head up "Here, you must wait. Do not follow me." Aurora said and let them off. She ran off into the trees.

Kalil glanced at the trees around them. "I don't know," he said. "But I suspect we're far from the ball."
Snow barked cheerfully as she pulled out a wicked-looking knife. It gleamed black in the moonlight. Aurora came back, shaking branches from her fur.

Aurora shifted back to her human form "In the Wilderun Woods. My home." Aurora said and gazed around. Snow trotted over and handed the knife to Aurora who took it.

Amira observed their surroundings, taking note of where everything was. She wanted to make sure no one else was near them.
Aurora sighed "We traveled 20 miles and I am here for this." Aurora said and lifted up the knife. The knife had an obsidian blade with a emerald-studded hilt.

Amira pulled out her daggers, making sure she still had them. Kalil glanced at his sister.
Aurora flattened her ears down "They are in the city of Lithen. Do you have any other questions?" Aurora asked. Her tail lashed unhappily.

Kalil's mind wandered. They had left Lithen, just to return soon after. The more he thought about it, the more he was glad they were going to Lithen and not anywhere else. If anything happened--if anything went wrong--at least they were near home.

Aurora looked to the east. Aurora’s tail twitched three times restlessly. Snow went back to digging.

Aurora threw the knife at a tree where it hit the trunk. The tree promptly turned into dust. Snow barked approvingly.

Aurora walked forward to the dust. Aurora’s tail flicked to the dust and the tree grew back. Snow barked happily and hopped onto Aurora’s shoulder.

Aurora spun around, frowning “I can’t tell you. If I told you, it would end really badly for not just you, but me.” Aurora said and walked off to a redwood tree. Aurora sank her claws into the tree and climbed up it.

Aurora jumped out of the redwood tree and thudded onto another tree branch then swung down from the branch to land on the ground silently. Snow was still sitting on her shoulder, seeming unbothered. Aurora’s tail flicked three times as she turned to stare at the north.

Amira shook her head. "I think you're worried for no reason, Kal," she answered.
"Maybe," Kalil said. "But something doesn't feel right."
Aurora swiveled her head to glare at them. “I can hear you.” Aurora said, her tail starting to lash. Snow growled softly, her fur rising up.

Kalil looked up at Aurora. "I want to trust you," he said. "But there have been people in my life whom I've trusted, and they've stabbed me in the back. Sorry if I don't trust you right away. It takes me a while."
Amira looked at Aurora and Snow. "I trust you," she said. "Ignore my brother. He has trust issues."
Aurora gave Amira a light smile and glared at Kalil “Half the people I know said that and I left them. It takes me a time to trust others as well. I trust your sister because she seems kind. That, I admire.” Aurora said and rested her tail on the ground. Snow barked cheerfully.

"Kal, don't be ridiculous," Amira said. She looked at Aurora. "What happens now?" she asked.
Aurora gazed at the sky for a split second and looked back at them “I still need to run north. Don’t try stopping me either way. It’s not safe, where I’m going.” Aurora said. Aurora’s tail whisked in the air.
Aurora sighed “Where I’m going, you can’t help me then. What you can do is watch Snow for me.” Aurora said. Snow padded forward and sat next to Kalil’s feet.

Kalil glanced at Snow, then focused on Aurora. "Are you going to be okay?" he asked. "Going by yourself?" He didn't 100% trust her, but he didn't want her to get hurt either.
Aurora sighed “Probably not.” Aurora said. Snow wagged her tail.

Aurora flicked her tail “There’s a warehouse in Lithen. That’s where my friends are right now.” Aurora said. Snow nodded.

Amira pursed her lips, watching Snow like Aurora had asked while she listened to her brother.
Aurora turned to look at him “Possibly.” Aurora said. Snow laid down near Amira’s feet.

Kalil resettled his weight, leaning against his staff.
Aurora looked back to the north “Up to you. Half the people I know decide everything for themselves.” Aurora said and lashed her tail. Snow barked quietly.

Amira looked at Snow, smiling.
Aurora looked back at him “That... is something I haven’t heard in years.” Aurora said and her tail stopped lashing. Snow perked up and wagged her tail

Aurora flicked her tail five times “No. Just be careful. That is something no one has said to me for years-“ Aurora stopped mid-sentence and sank down with a shriek of pain. Snow scrambled over and nudged Aurora.
