Luis Contreras | 60 comments I recently re watched Scarface and remember why its one of my favorite movies of all time. Its directed by Brian De Palma, written by Oliver Stone, and stars Al Pacino. This is one of the most famous and greatest crime films of all time. It follows a Cuban refugee criminal(Al Pacino) that works his way up the Miami drug empire. While gaining power in the drug cartel he makes countless friends and enemies through his murderous habits. Once at the top, his stubbornness that put him there is what also drove away and killed him and his loved ones.

This movie despite being almost 3 hours long is packed with lots of violence, great dialogue, and themes of betrayal. Al Pacino drives the movie as the main star through his serious and aggressive attitude. The writing is amazing as it tells a meaningful story of betrayal and trust that makes you feel connected to the movie. The Camera work is very fluid and lively as there are many pan shots establishing scenery and iconic quotes like "The World is Yours." The soundtrack makes everything better as the theme perfectly sets the mood for the both the beginning and end of the movie.

I would rate this movie a 5 star as its a perfect movie with little to no flaws packed with violence, iconic dialogue and shots, and meaningful writing.
