This was the very first anime I ever purchased. I bought them from Suncoast video at the mall. They were VHS tapes that cost $30 a pop and there were 4 of them. They only contained the subbed version as well, the dubbed version was a completely different set. I'm so glad that the general price of anime has severely decreased over the 20 years since then. I later picked these up on bluray for $20.
It will be fun to watch this one again. It will be my 3rd or 4th viewing of this trippy series. I'm already humming Duvet by BoA in anticipation.
For those looking to stream it can be found subbed and dubbed via Funimation.

The series follows Lain Iwakura, an adolescent girl in suburban Japan, and her relation to the Wired, a global communications network similar to the Internet. She is pulled into this tricky web by deaths in her school. It's a very cyberpunk theamed series. It was awarded an Excellence Prize at the 1998 Japan Media Arts Festival.
This is 13 episodes. It was first brodcast in Tokyo at 1:15 am.
