That looks good. I put it on my price drops list. I could get KU but I'd forget to cancel it and I have too much to read already. A good problem to have.

message 2803: by Carol (new)

Carol | 2793 comments I put to cancel KU on my calendar a day or two before times up. I got my last 3 months of KU for free because every now and they offer freebies or discounts on KU. Check KU out.

Roberta2 | 2383 comments Hope everyone had a nice holiday. My husband got Covid for Christmas; he is banished to the bedroom. Fortunately, so far, neither I or our son and daughter have it. Since this is his second time getting it, and he had the original Covid virus, we are hoping he won't get too sick.

As my Nana used to say, there's always something, honey.

Carol, that sounds wonderful. We went to my sister's house. Good to be with family.

Roberta2, ouch. I hope your husband recovers quickly.

OLT | 2480 comments Happy Third Day of Christmas to All! Besides giving three calling birds to your true love, remember what is celebrated today. It's the Feast of St. John, who, apparently, drank poisoned wine without dying or even becoming ill. Now we celebrate this by drinking lots of wine. Enjoy!

Hope your husband is feeling much better already, Roberta2.

Eh, I'm not even going to suggest that 'maybe the worst is over'. That's tempting fate.

My son has also tested positive for covid.

Does anyone here know if it is okay to go to a doctor for covid after you start getting better - for lingering ailments such as chest congestion?

🐝 Shaz 🐝 | 319 comments Can you get a phone consultation from your doctor. Who may be able to then tell you if you need to go see him or her.
I done this the last time I needed the doctor. Gave me a prescription and told me to make an appointment if the pills didn’t work. They did work, saved sitting in a waiting room with people sneezing and coughing around me.

I have noticed a lot of people wearing mask again. And quite a few people have been Ill who I know, with Covid symptoms .
Hope you feel better soon.

message 2831: by Roberta2 (new)

Roberta2 | 2383 comments HappyBookWorm, Yes, your son can go to the doctor if he has lingering ailments after having Covid. Is he testing negative? Some doctors do do tele visits. He may need antibiotics or a chest xray?

My husband is negative and has had no symptoms for days now. None of us got it; he had to eat Christmas dinner in his room on a tray. I just moved back into our room last night.

Our daughter is flying back to San Francisco today and is wearing a mask.

OLT, I decided to do a dry January, but it has more to do with my perpetual attempt to lose some weight.

I have been listening to an audio book while driving, and really like it. I'm not quite finished yet. A young woman listening for Nazi intel during WWII picks up a signal from the future.

Since June 2023 (?) we the joint owners have tried to sell my late Grandpa's Texas farm property. My male cousins and younger bro have been bossy through this process. Yesterday we signed and FexEx'ed the last legal paperwork! Thank God!!!

Cousins & bro have treated the women helping us make this happen IE my SIL & former SIL like this is the 1950s & they had to adhere to the male course of action. Bro was "born again" yrs ago and doesn't realize God knows his thoughts/ words/ actions before they even happen. What a relief to soon have no contact w/ these 3 backward males.

message 2838: by Cath (new)

Cath | 953 comments ^Yay! Hope this means you no longer have to stress about this particular issue. (P.S. I have brothers and I know what you mean about bossy - or I guess maybe a kind of self-assurance where it doesn't occur to them that other perspectives matter too)

Thanks Cath----

They repeated themselves after an issue was already settled. My SIL signed over her portion via a quit-claim deed to me & bro. They kept questioning was this sufficient? Title co. attorney already said it was. They should've thanked my SIL - the deal
was dead w/o her cooperation.

Yes, other POVs do matter. Each of the 3 tried to prove he was the smartest. Tiresome.

I have an appointment tomorrow afternoon. Just to rule out a possible sinus infection, etc. Naturally, I am feeling better *now* but usually I feel worse in the morning.

Hope everyone here has enjoyed their day. It's much colder than usual here - I actually had to put on a jacket. I'm ready for this arctic air to go back where it came from.
