I read this a while ago and not kidding, I cried for 4 chapters straight. I often cry in books, but this was a lot of tears, even for me. I was full on ugly crying and my sister started laughing at me.
I loved this book. The writing was beautiful and so was the story. Achilles was presented as a human who makes mistakes and tries to correct himself. The relationship was so sweet and adorable. I love Patroclus. He's legitimately the sweetest person on earth.
I think the best thing about this book , other than patrochilles, is the writing. It is just so poetic, it literally flows in my mind and feels nice to read. I’ll reread the book just for the writing. Also, the character writing and development. Madeline Miller just knows how to write characters and she writes them in a way that makes the characters feel personal. The character flaws, the thought process and the exploration of human mind. Everything was just so perfect. I don’t even like Greek mythology that much but the song of Achilles will always remain one of the most memorable books I’ve read.
