I just discovered that I am paying for this most e-book service. Can anyone attest to quality and selection of audiobooks?

The Android app does not have speed adjustments and would switch from playing downloaded book to streaming.
I ended up buying the two books from Audible that had intrigued me to try ScribD
It looks like they have a decent selection (hundreds of thousands from over 900 publishers according to their FAQ) but, personally, I'll stick with Amazon's Kindle Unlimited for $10/month. I could be wrong but it looks like not all content on Scribd is included in its subscription service, which would put it right in line with the Kindle Unlimited model.Scribd does include Audio books as well (I don't see how many) so that may be worth the membership subscription fee. Like Nospin¥, I use Audible for audio books but that does add another monthly fee.
I have been using SCRIBD for a few weeks and am still on the fence about it. The monthly fee is a great price and it is for unlimited ebooks, audio and documents. I have used it for mostly audio books. There seems to be a good selection of audio books and for 8.99 I am considering keeping it. I would not use it to replace my audible but in addition to. There are some issues with streaming but I think those will be worked out. Since they add new content almost daily I can bet the price will go up.
I just signed up for 3 free months with a promo code(Three month trial of @Scribd for Smart Bitches readers! Use code "SmartBitches" Ends 3/14/15 bit.ly/1CILdPw)
I found a couple of audios that I've been wanting but not enough to use a credit on, and on my iPhone the audio interface is fairly similar to the Audible app. I have a few playback speed options.
It's certainly better than Hoopla / not as good as Overdrive, which are the two apps I use most (free / library access) and I'll report back after a couple months use to say if I'm loving it enough to pay for it myself.

Scribd just announced that it would add thousands of comic books and graphic novels to its digital library. I may give it a try for the three months. Thanks for the promo code!! I've been less than impressed with the selection on Kindle Unlimited.
I'm game to try it out for 3 months for free. I see two books available now that I have had on hold on Overdrive for several weeks already. It says there are 30K audiobooks, and the Scribd app does make it easy to search for audiobooks now.
I used it for three months free for the books. I use it almost every day. During the last couple of weeks of my free trail, they got audiobooks. It is cumbersome. And I am surprised that someone mentioned the iPhone is easy to use. I can't even get it to download on iPhone in less that five hours. The Android is not much better. These are constant complaints that you read and CS also confirmed for me downloads are a real issue for the audiobook portion.
It is a PITA to download the app to a Kindle Fire because Amazon doesn't want you to have it.
I am keeping it for another month or so because I do read the books a lot.
But if the download times don't improve significantly, I will dump it and try KU.
Oh, the Scribd customer service is very responsive. I was told in one of my chats that the apps were being significantly overhauled and by the end of February there should be a much better interface. That being said, if there is not, I will probably dump it, try KU and see which is better.
I want to stop my Audible membership because it seems awfully pricy for what it is, but I still want to have access to lots of audiobooks if possible.
I've just started a three month trial. They seem to have quite a few audiobooks and I found that the app works quite well on an iPad. I only decided to go with the trial when I acquired an iPad, given that I usually read on a Kindle Paperwhite which doesn't take Scribd books. However, I realised that the audiobook I was about to listen to is abridged, which I abhor. I cannot find where on their website they indicate that the audiobook is abridged. I am in the middle of a chat with their helpful service person while he tries to tell me where I can see that information. He has already told me that it isn't possible to search for only unabridged audiobooks.
HJ, can you use a software like Calibre or something to convert the Scribd books to a .mobi format for the Kindle? I only read on Kindle Paperwhite also, so it won't be worth it for me if I can't convert them.

You could try a free trial and experiment, but remember to cancel the subscription if you don't like it because otherwise monthly payments start when the free trial period ends.
