It is with great excitement that I propose to you a captivating series of espionage books marketed not only for Christian and unbelieving teenage boys and young men but also for young ladies as well – plenty of action, suspense, and intrigue for the guys and plenty of relational aspects and even some romance for the girls. I am requesting beta readers for my “AENIGMA” series if anyone is interested in a fun read of a fast-paced spy series with solid Christian values; think of it like a Christian James Bond but much more wholesome and way more character development. While the books pack a lot of fast-paced action and mystery, I have incorporated several clear presentations of the Gospel as well as rock-solid Biblical principles. Some might call this series “The Christian James Bond Books” since it deals with a spy (from an international espionage organization), but this series is so much more wholesome than James Bond, and the protagonists have much more character development than Bond. The two main characters develop profoundly throughout the stories.
You will see that some book titles are Christian twists on Ian Fleming’s titles, but most titles come from the Bible. These books are not copies of James Bond works; they are completely original stories. The books are page-turners in a meticulously planned series. They are a great read, with an astounding surprise in the middle of the series. Here is a summary of Volume I.
VOLUME I: 1. Arm of Flesh (II Chronicles 32:7-8). Orphaned 17-yr.-old Jon Thurston has a strong Christian upbringing in a church orphanage but he is filled with insecurities; late tricenarian spy Octavius LV has struggles from his complex past in espionage in AENIGMA, the Agency for Espionage, Nationalism, and Intelligence for Global Martial Amity. One day the Agent meets with Jon to have him finish his current mission. Why a teenage boy?! And why does Jon look so much like Octavius?! Jon reluctantly agrees to do this one job, but will he catch the bug of the action-packed life of a spy? If so, how can he use this profession to serve God? How can he as a teenager do what is required of an adult spy, working with other assets and facing off against villains? The conflict between the older Agent and his younger doppelganger occurs as Jon tries to point Octavius to a right life in Christ while Octavius resists and squelches Jon’s spiritual zeal. After Jon serves Octavius for a two-year training period, will AENIGMA accept Jon as an Agent? And what is the enigma of Jon’s relationship to Octavius? 2. Diamonds Aren’t Forever (Matthew 24:34). On his first solo, unsupervised mission, Jon stops a smuggling ring in diamond mines in South Africa in 2018. He wants an answer to the enigma of who Octavius is in relation to him, but Octavius is tightlipped. 3. Writing on the Wall (Daniel 5:5). Jon tracks down an Al Qaeda group in mountainous caves in Afghanistan. 4. You Only Live Once (Hebrews 9:27). Jon deals with a reincarnation sect in India in 2019. 5. Apple of His Eye (Psalm 17:8). Jon uncovers a plot by Helmut Reichsteiner, leader of Neo-Nazis determined to exterminate Israelis. Jon also meets Espionagent Theodisia LXI. 6. Live and Let Live (II Corinthians 5:17). Jon is ordered to assassinate a drug cartel leader in Colombia, but shares the gospel with him instead, and now he is a new person; the old person is gone. 7. As Far As the East Is From the West (Psalm 103:12). Jon stops a Chinese man who wants to radiate Western influences. He also works with Theodisia and Espionagent Aurelius LXXXI and leads them to Christ. He needs medical attention after the mission, and Octavius has no other choice but to bring him to AENIGMA HQ. How will the administration respond to Octavius’ unapproved recruitment and training? What will they do with Jon?
Interested? I would be honored if you would read this manuscript as a beta reader; if you are into espionage, you may want to keep up with the rest of the series. I look forward to hearing from you soon.
