Please help. The author of this book is supposed to be Pluma Migrant Writers Guild and there are 7 contributing poets. But it seems only one contributor appeared in the author's slot. Also I sent several applications for the Goodreads Author program but no word from Goodreads since. This is our book compilation. Thanks. Link here: https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/2...

Hi. Thanks for adding the contributors. But the thing is, when I visited Pluma Migrant Writers Guild's page (author's page), the books are not displayed under this author. Is it possible to just enlist Pluma Migrant Writers Guild as the Primary Author of the book? Because the readers will search for this name as the author (it's not just the publisher). All the contributors are members of Pluma Migrant Writers Guild. Also, it's the main author submitted to the Authors Program (we haven't heard about the application from Goodreads, so far). And Pluma Migrant Writers Guild is the name listed to the metadata of this book under the author's name (in all versions).
Thanks.
Please set Pluma Migrant Writers Guild as the Primary Author of this book. We cannot even edit the details of our own book now. Thanks so much.

I have encounter "Dork Tower" as author. However, this is wrong because the author of that series is John Kovalic. I have edited each of the wrong books, but there is still a profile: https://www.goodreads.com/author/show...Can be this one be erased? Or it is just going to merge with John Kovalic?
Thanks.

Blank profiles (no books, fans, quotes, etc.) will be left for the cleanup script.
Hi. Please also set Pluma Migrant Writers Guild as Primary Author of this format/edition: https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/2...Many thanks.

Undone. That is the publisher, not an author.

Hi. Please understand that this is a self-published book and is undertaken by a community-based group called Pluma Migrant Writers Guild (it's not just a publisher). As you can check the Lulu version is authored under this name also because it's a poetry collection.
Readers will have a hard time searching for this book if you remove the group's name as the author, as we are promoting the books under this name.
Here is the group's blog site for you to verify:
http://plumamigrantlit.wordpress.com/
Please, retain the group's name on both versions. We will appreciate it.
Many thanks.
Goodreads policy is to only list a group (rather than individuals) as an author only if there are no known individual authors.
Good day to everyone. I couldn't help but butt in the discussion. I am a member of the group being discussed here and I noticed that on one version a contributor named Nabeel Philip Mohan was also removed from the list of contributors. Also, since Pluma Migrant Writers Guild has been removed from the author's list, is it still possible for that account to engage readers with their own book? Because if not, I don't think Pluma's account is still necessary, hence, it might as well be deactivated.
Because I think I get the point that Pluma Migrant Writers Guild should be included in the list of authors since all the contributors mentioned are represented by the group. When I searched for Pluma on the search engine of Goodreads, I couldn't find any book attached to it. And in the book's metadata, both in the library and Lulu, the author registered under this book is Pluma Migrant Writers Guild, not the contributors. So I think it's just appropriate to list the book under Pluma, even if the contributors were recognized.
I'm not sure, but I think this entry might cause conflict to the ISBNs assigned to the versions, as Pluma is legally recognized as the author of the books. We can provide proper documents.

Thank you for pointing that out. That was an error, and has now been fixed.
Goodreads policy is to only list a group (rather than individuals) as an author only if there are no known individual authors. How they are listed on other sites is not really relevant, as our policies only apply to our site.
Publishers are welcome to have Goodreads accounts, and many use them to interact with users. Here is one of many examples: https://www.goodreads.com/user/show/3...

Thanks for responding. I was referring to the copyrights of the book as registered under Pluma as both author and publisher in the Ministry/Library where it was originally published, thus, I just thought that it should be properly documented as such.Anyway, it's fine to list down the contributors as well and we can ask the individual authors to create Goodreads accounts if possible.
Re the publisher, we would be happy to enlist Pluma as a publisher, as well. Can you provide us with guidelines for the publisher? Thanks.
I noticed in this book the name of the publisher is on the author's slot together with the authors/editors: https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/2...I noticed that there is no book being associated with Pluma's profile.
Hello, I'm having an author name crisis. I am an author who writes under the name James S. Bowers. My author profile has been mistyped so it comes up as James S.Bowers with no space between the dot and the B and I cannot change it without being a Librarian as the correctly typed variation of my name is already an author profile but the system no doubt thinks its another person. This of course is playing havoc with the books attributed to me as there is three variations of my name with only the first one I mentioned being correct. I have written Mechanical Heart, Pariahs and Peacemakers and Day Two. Day Two needs to be removed as it is not available anywhere anymore. Mechanical Heart needs changing to James S. Bowers after my profile has so it is attributed to me and Pariahs and Peacemakers has two entries, one for James S.Bowers and one for James S Bowers. The one with the information all filled out needs changing to James S. Bowers once everything else has been and the other wants to be deleted. Only a small problem really in regard to spacing and dots but I require some help please as I cannot change it on my own. The links are as follows:https://www.goodreads.com/author/edit...

Thanks for pointing that out. Fixed.
Goodreads does not have any guidelines for publisher accounts, other than the Terms of Service which apply to all users.

James, it gets confusing when a thread linked to a specific book or author is also used for other books. Next time, please start a new thread.
Meanwhile, I think you should be all straightened out.
