Just started the book on Kindle (sample) and was intrigued enough to check this out of the library.
I've just finished this and, while I did like some elements, overall this was just alright to me somehow. The narrative just didn't draw me in as much as I would have liked, mostly because I found it very very slow-paced.
Then again, I also wasn't as fond of The Great Gatsby as a lot of other people, and that may have been part of the problem!

I would have to agree, I did really like The Great Gatsby but I didn't find my enjoyment of the original book to be enough to keep me engaged
Started this yesterday, I missed that it included a bit of magic. So far I like Jordan. I read The Great Gatsby years ago so I'm not entirely sure what to expect but I still don't really like Daisy or Gatsby.
I really liked the character study of Jordan and didn't mind the slow pace. There was a lot going on between the world building and the retelling that could have been smoother but overall I enjoyed it.
I didn't think I would have time to get to this before the end of the month, but I had some extra time so I'm going to squeeze it in! I haven't read The Great Gatsby in several years but I am excited to see Nghi Vo's spin on the story.
