It has been quite a while since I read any of this series. I first did them on audio, so I can hear the accent in my head while reading. Smith has a good thing going here because the style of conversation usually goes something like this:
Hello, I am looking for Mme Ramotswa. Yes, I am Mme Ramotswa. Are you well? Yes (and a few more pleasantries) How can I help you? I have a problem Oh, you have a problem? Yes, I hope you can help me. Let us have some tea and you can tell me about your problem. Oh, thank you, you are very kind etc. - A whole page can be filled with no plot information.
Still the stories are amusing and it's fun to visit familiar characters. The mysteries aren't always complex but I did enjoy this.
I enjoy this series and have since the first time I read one, back when it was fairly new and I was visiting my parents (my mother had it). I have had some gaps, but for the past few have been fully caught up.
