so i kind of have an issue
a lot of my characters, when they get someone they like, it becomes an obsession. (probably because they have BPD). So, I had this character, Sakura. There was this boy around her age who saved her little brother from a dangerous situation, as well as helped her out. because of this, she was intent on befriending him, which he coldly brushed off. Wouldn't even give her his name, so she called him apple. Not long after, she lost both her father and little brother, leaving her an orphan and alone. she followed his scent and eventually came across his place (totally didn't stalk him i swear). he brought her inside to dry up and even helped her out. After much pushing, agreed to be her friend as long as she kept giving him chocolate milk. As he was the only one she had at that point and was still young, she became pretty obsessive with him, especially after gaining a crush on him (he's an aroace, so naturally it wasn't requited and she knew that, which is why she didn't pursue it and just stuck by him as his childhood friend). She became pretty reliant on him, going as far as to kill and kidnap for him. She even let him create a mini clone on him, and was more than willing to become an experiment for him like the others. (She eventually even died for him. Her quirk as extremely unstable, especially with her unstable mentality. she was unhinged, to say the least.)

then there was my fate character in that one roleplay group I made. (fate: winx saga roleplay). Yuzuru had an obsession with her first friend and had a huge crush on her. Much like Sakura, was willing to follow her to the edges of the earth even if it meant abandoning her dreams and going against her own morals. (like, turning to the dark side. Sakura, for one, wanted to be a hero but ended up becoming the right hand of one of the most infamous villain organization's head.).

I'd imagine Estella will grow a sort of similar type of affection and will form some kind of codependency. I feel like if Cal would do something like abandon her or leave her for dead, she might snap and become slightly unhinged (similar to how, depending on how things go, aster could always end up breaking. both would probably end up in an asylum and would dangers to everyone around them).

Idk, I think I just like portraying things like that because it's more on the serious side.

Well to be honest, Caledonia wouldn't leave her if they were to become friends. That's the thing, if Cal truly cares about or loves someone, she won't leave them to the point of her own safety and health being compromised so...

But in terms of the issue, I mean there's nothing wrong with writing really serious characters with serious situations, because that stuff does exist in the world. I think as long as you do it right and don't romanticize conditions then it's probably fine

even if she doesn't leave her, if something were to happen that would like, idk, kill Caledonia or put her in a really bad state, I feel like that would also make her snap. She would have become really codependent on Cal and protective of her as that would be her 'happiness' and 'normal'. so if someone would have came into her life and broke her 'normal, happy life' I feel like, the child would become very angry and possibly commit mass murder

Nah, i don't do stuff like that. When I write their 'breaks' or even their 'anxiety attacks' i usually put a lot of detail into their thoughts and feelings in particular rather than their actions. Like what I did with Vladamir in the Northstar group. As someone who's had plenty of anxiety attacks, it's something i can describe in great detail. I've also observed a lot of 'breaks' like that, in stuff I would read or just in the stuff I watched. I also will google for like, an hour if i want to better understand something. so if something like that did happen (which I'm sure it won't), it'll be incredibly detailed. even if she did have a break, she wouldn't like, 'power up' like you see in anime either. she'd get angry, but she'd still be pretty distraught, so naturally, she wouldn't be able to do much in that situation. (cloudy mind, heavy body, teary eyes. stuff like that. she'd try to hurt someone to protect Caledonia, but would probably fail. and if she did survive, then it'd be premeditated murder, as she'd personally do her best to hurt them. She'd become hyper-focused on that and pretty much only think about that)

XDDD estella might become obsessed with hurting someone if that were to happen. Obsession can go in many different ways. Her obsession with Cal can just as quickly become the obsession of harming another person

she definitely has Obsessive love disorder and probably Psychopathy. ( i could totally see her mistaking her 'obsession' with 'love'. cal would provide her with a sense of normalcy, something she never had, so it's possible. though, i guess it's another form of love, just, not a healthy one )

there's a lot of ways I can see this going, though, a lot of them probably aren't healthy (codependency isn't something that's healthy at all, but it's something you find often in couples)

Yeah. They'd have to definitely work through some things if they want to have a healthy relationship. though, that's the case with a lot of things. love and relationships aren't always perfect from the get-go.

though, with the obsessive love disorder, it'd be hard to know if estella might take that the wrong way, so cal would have to put a lot into just, trying to calm her down and work with her. Cal would basically have to teach her what's right, wrong, what's unhealthy, and what's healthy. stuff like that. while her father got her to open up to her and everything, he only had her for a year before admitting her there. he didn't really get the chance to get close enough to her to really know those things about her. that her view of the world or her view of people and love, in general, is slightly twisted. so it'd definitely be something they'd have to ease their way into, so, yknow, another slow-burn. (as long as they ease their way into it and communicate though, as well as work on their problems, it'd be a great relationship.)

I think they definitely should work on that. And even before they get into a relationship, I think Cal would probably try and help all her what's wrong/right, because if she's mentoring her anyway...I think she'd do what she can, and then once they are in a relationship she'd take it further in terms of social skills and such. Yeah, I think so, I mean I think they should work though he problems and communicate, when Cal realizes she likes her

Yeah. I feel like, with Cal's personality, it wouldn't be much of a problem. It'd just be different than how someone would normally expect dating to go. She'd have to start from the ground up with Estella. But, as long as she has the guidance and everything, Estella can also become someone capable and someone she could rely on when need be.

Maybe she and cal could also be sparing partners in class sometimes? while she's struggling in her general studies, Estrella is someone who's really good at physical type things. So, kind of like a meat-head. {she's not stupid or anything, it's just, she's fifteen years behind the others and has to catch up in such a short amount of time. naturally, physical things would come more naturally as that's something she was taught while captive. not very well, but basic things on how to defend herself in case something went wrong with a client.} And while she might be behind others and having joined the school late, i feel like she might be a decent match with Cal. She'd obviously always lose, as she is still far behind and has trouble thinking ahead and planning things strategically. Strength wise she's good though, and relies more on her instincts than actual thinking in a fight, along with adrenaline. I feel like sparring with Cal would also help her quite a bit as well, as she'd have to actually think instead of relying on her brute strength.
