We’ve had issues with past romances in this series. How did you feel about Dax and Holland’s relationship, all three times? Your thoughts about them individually and as a couple?

Lynn (ftbooklover) I liked the romance in this book better than the first two books, but even with the hot love scenes, I'm still missing the chemistry between characters.

Sharon Kallenberger Marzola | 3484 comments I liked this relationship. It feels more realistic to me than the first two. I felt the chemistry between Dax and Holland, even if they didn't trust each other enough to communicate. (A pet peeve of mine when the characters are adults.)

I like both characters individually too. Dax's story worked for me. His relationship with his family is sweet and loving. It is a testament to his father that Dax refuses to let the scandal alone, even when he found out his father wasn't the perfect man he thought. He knew his father wasn't a pedophile.

Holland is a strong female character. I felt sorry for her sometimes. Dax has his friends while she was left with no one. She works hard, and didn't forget about the case even when Dax hurt her.

Anita (anitanodiva) | 2973 comments Star crossed lovers, I loved it! The only thing I didn't love was how long it took Holland to forgive Dax. I kept yelling at the Book: Get over it!

I loved Dax. He was just about perfect to me. Holland was strong, but boy, she could hold a grudge.

I loved their romance, even with all the ups and downs. I got their chemistry and they certainly had some steamy moments.

I liked them both individually and as a couple. They’re well suited.

Karen ♐ (kmk1214) | 909 comments I think, so far, this is my favorite couple. I love when there is a past history. I really liked them individually also.
