Speaking of quickie marriages, we know why Dax did this. What was Courtney thinking????

Sharon Kallenberger Marzola | 3485 comments Courtney wanted the money and notoriety. I didn't like her at all. It bothered me that Dax stayed married to her for so long.

Once again, I agree with Sharon.

Anita (anitanodiva) | 2973 comments He was a catch with ties to the White House. She may not have realized that with the scandal of his father's death, he wasn't going to go very far in the Navy, but he was rich and hot and connected.

Also, like Sharon said earlier, maybe she was a part of the conspiracy. She certainly distracted him from the case for quite a while.

What woman wants a man who’s obviously in love with someone else? She was delusional in thinking she could turn him around to herself.

Dax was too good to her, letting her off easy. He felt guilty taking advantage of her but she was using him in the ways that you two describe.

I really disliked this woman. She was never Holland’s friend and didn’t really “love” Dax.

Sharon Kallenberger Marzola | 3485 comments I agree!

Lauren (laurenjberman) | 1811 comments Courtney was jealous of Holland and wanted what she had. I guess she was willing to have him "second hand" so to speak.

Dax's actions left much to be desire here. I understand that he was angry and felt betrayed, but marrying Courtney even while drunk and them staying married to her for all that time was not acceptable. As I said in an earlier question, it put a damper on the romance for me.

For me too. You can get a quickie divorce in LV too. I didn't buy the explanation that he didn't want the negative publicity for his family. The PGs didn't worry about negative publicity before.

I didn't buy this either. There was already so much negative publicity, this would not have made any difference. I think he wanted to hurt Holland and he saw this as his way of getting back at her for her "betrayal".

I think he didn’t immediately get the marriage annulled because he wanted to hurt Holland. But, I believe he stayed married to Courtney because he felt guilty for using her. He was embarrassed and probably believed he’d betrayed her as he believed Holland had done to him. I didn’t buy the other excuse either.

Karen ♐ (kmk1214) | 909 comments I wondered why he stayed married to her for so long also. I think the major part of it was guilt. He felt he used her to try and get back at Holland for hurting him. The other part was to show Holland that he could move on so easily from her.
