Holland begins her investigation with a meeting with her uncle, Beau Kirk. Did you sense anything off with him at that time?

Sharon Kallenberger Marzola | 3484 comments I thought something was off with him or one of his cops right away. It reminded me a little of old New Orleans corrupt police force.

Lynn (ftbooklover) I thought of the many books and shows I've seen that lean heavily on the idea that the New Orleans Police Force is the most corrupt in the country. Holland's uncle never seemed to have her her best interests at heart.

Anita (anitanodiva) | 2973 comments I didn't feel anything off about him at all. I did think he was really harsh and adamant that Holland stay away from Dax and this father's death. I just thought he wanted her to stay away because Dax had a reputation as a playboy and the Admiral's death was a scandal she should avoid.

What I felt off about was how much info he had about Admiral Spencer’s supposed motel visit with Amber. The call came into NOLA PD and things went downhill from there. Plus, he was waving Holland off. He went on my radar immediately.

The old NO police department was terribly corrupt. It’s a different story today.

Lauren (laurenjberman) | 1810 comments I felt that there was something off about him right from the start. He seemed so adamant about Holland staying away from Dax and I did not believe it was because of his reputation.

Yeah, I got the same vibe.

Karen ♐ (kmk1214) | 909 comments I thought there was something off about him too, right from the first. I agree, Lauren. He really didn't want her to have anything to do with Dax. I remember thinking, why?
