What have you been playing: before the forum was deleted?
Its official! Forza Horizon 5 is coming to PS5 in the spring.This is the dream. Ever since I jumped ship back in 2013ish, this is the Xbox franchise I missed the most. The games are so well put together, technical master pieces but also amazing fun. Imo, head and shoulders above anything else.
I don't get that excited about much to do with gaming these days (or much in general really) but this is literally the dream come true. Anyone who has never had an Xbox and not experienced this game is in for an absolute treat.
I just added it to my wishlist on the PS app. Sureal stuff.

Not to be the odd one out..but I've personally felt Forza Horizon has went downhill since 3 ;) I'll likely pick it up and replay for the trophies, but there was way too much pointlessness like the dull stories and avatar fashion.I'd happily replay the Master Chief Collection though
Yes, credible sources are suggesting Halo MCC and Gears 1 Ultimate Edition are coming soon. I really like Gears so would possibly play that but was never a Halo fan.Forza is the big one for me though. I loved the original Xbox 360 game and then when I had an Xbox One for a little while I played the one set in the UK I think. Horizon 4 maybe? It was excellent and 5 is meant to be better from what I gather.
The games are so good they make NFS obsolete. The nearest thing you could previously get on PS was The Crew Motorfest but that felt like a poor imitation.
They can charge whatever they want. I'll lap that up day 1. Its also great that Playground Games now have a massive new audience to experience their games. They are a top tier developer by every conceivable measure.

Could be a case of franchise fatigue. Loved 1 & 2, was a bit less enthusiastic about 3, 4 & 5 were just more of the same, only with more watches. high heels and skirts, and dull beyond imagination stories, can't forget those...though wish I could ;)
The stories thing does sound a bit naff to be fair but if its kept to a minimum, I'll be able to look past it.
I honestly enjoy Forza Motorsport more than the Horizon series. Racing games aren't my favorite, but I always spend some time with Motorsport (front bumper cam).
I loved the Forza Motorsport games back on the 360, which is the last time I played them. I'd play those too if they were to come over but I'm not sure they will.It makes sense to port a Horizon game as there's nothing like it on PlayStation but the Motorsport games are perhaps deemed too similar to Gran Turismo.
I have Forza H 3/4/5 all on the X1S, and they're all great.Horizon 3 (set in Australia) is deffo the best though.

Also started Sniper Elite Resistance. On the fifth mission. More of the same really from Sniper Elite 5 but that’s what I want. Good fun game play loop and superb maps. I even played invasion and ruined someone’s day 😀. And the survival mode is quite good fun too. A little rough around the edges but these sniper elite games always have been a bit AA.
Ping! WRC Generations. Even though this is basically WRC 10 in all but name, I enjoyed it. The game is nice and smooth and handling is really good.I've got to say that the grind for the player level 150 trophy did sour the experience a bit but I'm glad it came up on PS+ and its nice to have it done.
Back to TLOU this coming week as I've really neglected that of late.
Congrats on the WRC ping. Pretty sure it was one they just rushed out as they were losing the licence, so it's pretty much identical to the previous one (not that there was huge differences in the ones before it). Been half tempted to retry the TLoU remaster myself bit, still have the feeling I'll get to a certain point and lose interest again..then months later retry yet again from the beginning
Cheers Deck. Can you remember where you got upto on TLOU? I think you have the same trophies I've unlocked so maybe round the same point. I'm at the start of the university area.
Yeah, pretty sure the farthest I've got in the remaster is part way through the university, and daftly restart the game from scratch every time I go back to it, so will likely never finish again

I finished the university section on TLOU. Lakeside Resort awaits tonight but I feel the game goes downhill from here so might try and plough through it to the end. Collectibles wise I don't think I have a huge amount left to find in the main game.
Ping! Cuisineer. Part dungeon crawler, part restaurant owner. Last boss fight was a bit of a pain, but apart from that, no big complaints

Yep, that well-known AAA, critically acclaimed masterpiece...Did enjoy it though. Has the kind of gameplay loop I find pretty addictive when I'm in the mood - grind for materials, sell what you make from them, repeat. Nothing thought provoking, just mindless grind.
Instead of returning to TLOU for the umpteenth attempt to get back into it, I've finally made a start on the Diablo IV dlc
I'd assumed Cuisineer was a bit grubby but the plat trophy is ultra rare on PSN Profiles so fair play. That gameplay loop does sound ineresring so will give it a look.I'm a good chunk of the way through the Bus Depot on TLOU so quite near the end now.
Finished off the Vessel of Hatred story DLC in Diablo IV quicker than I'd thought (didn't bother with the side quests and activities, just made a beeline for the main bit). I'll more than likely come back and do a bit more at some point. But now I'm back to the default settings of no idea what to play next
Latest bunch of half-baked ideas on what to play next include - seeing if my eyes can adjust to the PS4 version of Forbidden West, or going back to Destiny 2, High on Life, Pac-Man World, Psychonauts 2, Saints Row reboot, Lies of P or who knows what. Even considered A Plague Tale but I'm not that masochistic ;)

It's the loading times which would annoy me more.
You really should give A Plague Tale another go. Other than a couple of sections where the mechanics of the game don't suit the combat required, its great. The main area like this is the final boss but its doable.Otherwise play High on Life and let me know whether its worth a play through ;)
I've just this minute finished TLOU. Still good but I still really don't like the Lakeside Resort or the Firefly Lab levels. They're just not at the same level as the rest of the game.
I'm going to jump into Left Behind now.
Nearing the end of Final Fantasy VI and also trying out the new class/new season of Diablo IV.I see Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 is now out. That's a nice surprise, it wasn't on my radar. I'll wait on a discount but I really did love the first one and am fairly excited about this.
I reckon I enjoyed all parts of TLoU equally - it was a nice change playing as Ellie, with unlimited knife usage etc, she was actually better at taking down infected than Joel! And I like the boss fight in the burning restaurant.I find Left Behind to be more of a nod to Resident Evil or Silent Hill - especially the more recent remakes of those games. Go here find this piece, go there find that piece, all comes together to solve a puzzle/issue before you can move on, unlike the main TLoU game which is mainly just move forward through the levels and the challenge is just making it through alive.
I hated the boss fight in the restuarant and hated equally the almost identical fight in TLOU 2. Playing as Ellie was a welcome change of pace but that snowy bit when you first take control of her just goes on too long. When back in control of Joel, I didn't find stumbling around in the blizzard much fun either.The bit in the hospital at the end could be any third person cover shooter too. Although it made sense to have to go through that many enemies at that point.
I only ever played Left Behind once, over a decade ago. I remember bits about it and watching the show brought some of it back but been so long, its quite fresh. As DLC goes, its up there with the best.
Ping! The Last of Us Part 1Thankfully only took a couple of minutes to do the optional conversstion I missed in the very first guide video.
Congrats on that one. Pretty sure I'd not been paying close attention to the collectables to the pint id reached, and I don't think I've the patience to follow a guide, so that's another reason not to continue ;)
Gave Monster Hunter Wilds beta a go...feels like more of the same pretty much. Likely pick it up cheap at some point but in no hurry.
Typical...I was going to try and knock out some of the operations trophies in Space Marine 2...managed one, and after that just won't connect to the server. Not my Internet (for a change) and don't think it's ps+ as I'd been messing about in Destiny 2, so it's just my luck the combination of the game & server not seeing eye to eye
Very pissed off with PS now....Digital only PS5 Pro - PSN down for maintenance - Pro can't connect to server to verify game licenses - can't play a damn thing as I've no disc drive
Might have to invest in a disc drive so I'm not left with an expensive brick every time the server is down.
Thats not good. Is PSN still down? I just had notification to say someone had sent me a message about trophy hawing but I can't see anything.

It's getting pretty annoying. Getting notifications - game will close in 15 minutes as it can't validate the licence. They really should have something better in place for when these things happen
And of course my Xbox 1S hasn't been on in so long it needs a massive update....not only that it's on an old Internet connection....which they won't let me change until after the download.....
There are conflicting reports in Downdetector re PSN. Some people back on, others saying its still down. The app has started working again and showed 8 friends online.
Still down, for me at least. Was hopeful when the app came back up (though the store still seems broken on there) but still no luck on the console
I can't actually check my consoles yet as the TV is in use. The PS App is showing me that 11 friends are online. You on the app Deck but the other 10 actually playing games.Its funny reading comments like "its never been down this long before..." on Downdetector.

I hadn't got much planned in the way of gaming tonight so may binge the new season of Invicible on Prime instead.
No comments on the thread I was following for the last 2 hours so presumably PSN is back up now?

Is your console set as the primary console? It could be you haven’t changed your primary console since you got your Pro?
45th attempt, I managed to beat the final boss. Beat it 3 times now and think I'll probably move on sooner rather than later. Some of the trophies look beyond me but yeah it's a fun wee game
