What have you been playing: before the forum was deleted?
Keep thinking I'm getting near the end of Cyberpunk 2077, but they keep throwing side quests at me. Definitely like the game despite a few rough edges but 60 hours in, I might take a break over the weekend....though I'll likely not be able to settle on anything and continue anyway

Im also glad Indi is getting good reviews.
Its nice to see a AAA game succeed for a change.

I remember loving playing The Thing on OG Xbox. I hadn't heard of the remaster, might bite on that one myself.
Finished what little content there was in My First Gran Turismo and yeah the end credits is basically a long advert for buy GT7.And might have hawed The Thing
Ahh Path of Exile 2...pay for early access and for hours nothing but error codes...then when it connects to the server..8964 in the queue...I'll try again some other time....likely when it's no longer early access and free to play ;)
1am, I finally get on, and yeah think I'll like it once they work out the kinks

Yeah, when I was playing Gran Turismo 7, my first thought was that it felt pretty dated. If it wasn't for the VR mode, I'd not have platted it but did end up enjoying it. I think it's probably an acquired taste. My First Gran Turismo, there's probably only about an hour of content Gave that UFL game a quick go, no worse than FIFA or FC but not planning on putting any time into it

Getting near the end of Cyberpunk now. Think I've only a few more main missions to go and have made a dent in Phantom Liberty but still reckon I've more than a few hours left. The pacing is a bit off imo, the first half of the game, there's a lot of repetitive side activities you get with open world games, with more story focused ones mostly at the end. Could have done with some of the character stories starting a bit earlier in the game. But that and the vehicle handling are about my only complaints 80 hours in
I made a start on AC Mirage over the weekend and enjoying it so far. The setting suits AC and characters have a bit of personality about them. Its been ages since I played an AC game and a 'proper' one at that so nice to get into it again.

Yea Mirage I liked. I don’t want a 50-80 hour AC game and Mirage suited me well.
Downloaded My First Gran Turismo and am stuck on the licence challenges lol! Not stuck as in can't get past them/unlock the next part of the demo etc, but I won't let myself move on until I have passed with a gold time. And challenge 2 of licence 2 - essentially drive a Porsche 911 around a corner in 16.1 seconds or less...I can do it in 16.2 seconds but cannot for the life of me knock off that additional tenth! I use a gamepad and automatic gears so I know for other folks it would be more achievable, but I'm a GT veteran, every mainline game since GT1 (except GT7), and have never struggled this much to 'gold' any challenge.Graphics, handling, audio - none of it any better than GT Sport running on ps5 to my eyes. But I am loving the prospect of racing around Deep Forest Raceway and Trial Mountain though, which were criminally missing from GT Sport.
Yeah, they describe My First Gran Turismo as a beginner friendly introduction....some of the licence times would be enough to put beginners completely off. I'd started to do the same, try and get gold on each before moving on, but after half a dozen attempts at a few of them, decided to just do the minimum
You're both making me think about going back to GT6 and trying to get the S rank licenses. I think I only managed one before.More sneaky, sneaky, stabby, stabby on AC Mirage last night. Its good how you can do different bits of the story when you want and that's mainly what I'm concentrating on atm. Will do all the location 100% mop ups afterwards.

Did get gold in the next bit though - an even tighter corner in a family van type car.
Finished off the Phantom Liberty DLC in Cyberpunk 2077, and no big complaints. Should be able to polish off the main game pretty quick. Not decided if I'll attempt the plat at the minute
The PS+ Extra games are pretty decent this month. WRC Generations (so many times I've nearly bought this), Forspoken and Sonic Frontiers.
Spent part of the weekend watch a friend play Indiana Jones. I think it's a must-have for any Indy fan...they definitely nailed the tone. The voice actor does a perfect imitation. Plus nazi punching galore!
Finished the 4 endings for Cyberpunk 2077 yesterday and no big complaints about any of them. Will likely stick with it and plat now while I think about what I'm in the mood for. Just the 2 trophies left, neither should be difficult, but finding all the fast travel points could be a chore
Ping! Cyberpunk 2077 (PS5). Damn it, was hoping it'd last a bit longer while I thought about what's up next, but took just another half hour to polish off the last 2 trophies, when I was thinking it'd be a couple of hours.It's taken me quite a few tries since it was first released before it finally clicked, but this time, when it did, really enjoyed it

Started Indiana Jones. So far so good. Feels like you’re playing as Indy. Good and varied environments, light puzzles, lots of sneaking and fist fights. No complaints so far. Very polished too, a bit like a Sony game in that sense.
Might reinstall Space Marine 2 and have a mess about.Tried to get back into Atomic Heart there, but the movement annoys me. Walking straight, he's fine, but even the slightest touch of the analogue stick to the side, and your speed plummets. Doesn't sound like a major problem, but it bugs me enough that I've lost interest in continuing.
Apparently, I've played just the 302 games this year ;) And just the 3362 hours. Though possibly the most amusing stat in the wrap up is my game of the month for April....wait for it....Metal Gear Survive
3362 hours / 347 days (where we are in the year today) = 9.68 hours per day average. Every single day.I'm not sure whether to mightily impressed or concerned ;)
I'll have a look at my wrap up later on. I opened the first email but they've sent it again as they made a bit of a hash at the first attempt.
Most of my time was spent on Helldivers 2 and Space Marine 2 which sounds right. Both brilliant games and equal GOTY for me.

And that's slightly down from last year as far as I remember ;)I see Witcher 4 has been officially confirmed along with Elden Ring Nightreign, so I reckon a few hours will be stuck into them in 2025....and of course, it's got me tempted to replay Witcher 3 and Elden Ring

I've not caught up on last nights announcements properly yet but Borderlands 4 is the main standout for me.The new IP from Naughty Dog looks interesting.
It looks like Helldivers 2 is getting a huge expansion too. If they add new trophies, I'll rejoin the fight for democracy.

I've finally got into my PS stats and my play time is only 487 hours. That's not even 1.5 hours per day!I still somehow managed 25 plats in that meagre time, although I imagine there are a few grubs as I don't recall knocking 2 decent games out per month.

I had a look what the 25 plats of mine were and I must admit, 5 of them were full on grubbies. But there were some decent ones though and a better overall quality than I thought when I saw 25.I've been playing more AC Mirage and still really like it. Ubisoft get a lot of stick but I think they've done a good job with this game. I've got a few annoying sounding trophies left but hopefully they aren't too bad and I might be able to squeeze one more plat out of 2024.

Now I'm completely sucked in by Odyssey. 20+ hours in, only level 18 (not complaining) loads to do, loads to see, hunting cultists, doing conquest battles, upgrade the spear, upgrade the ship, upgrade a couple of bits of armour or weapons after almost every encounter...love it all!
Haven't bothered with some of the mechanics like engravings - i'm swapping out to new more powerful weapons/armour so often i don't see the point.
But yeah, what an amazing set of games Ubi have put out with Origins/Odyssey (and by all accounts Valhalla too) and then carried it on with Mirage. Makes you wonder why it takes other studios 12 years to make 1 game?
Can't see me getting any more plats this year. In another unsettled gaming mood. Since platting Cyberpunk, I've tried getting back into Path of Exile 2, Avatar Frontiers of Pandora, Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2, Ninja Gaiden Sigma, Legacy of Kain Soul Reaver, The Witcher 3, Shadow Warrior 3 and have now gone back to Dark Souls 2, which I've a feeling has the best chance of stopping the endless jumping
Hi Phil, I played AC Origins a few years back but really didn't enjoy it much at all. I found it bloated with far too much to do and because of that will never try Odyssey or Valhalla (even though I like the setting and premise of Valhalla). I like that Mirage is more compact and like the older AC games.Running around in the desert for an or more until I hallucinate raining scarabs isn't my idea of fun. I'd probably enjoy Origins/Odyssey/Valhalla more if I wasn't a trophy hunter but as it is, clearing all those '?' side quests just felt like busy work.

Sure i'll go for a plat if it's not a grind or if it's natural fun etc. But with games like Origins or Odyssey I'm quite happy not uncovering all the ? and not discovering all the star signs/waiting for it to rain scarabs etc. I didn't get near the plat for Mirage either.
I just enjoy the story, the quests, the setting, gameplay etc :)
And thats the better way of doing it! Trust me.

It (the setting mainly) just doesn't appeal to me. After Origins and Odyssey i will have had enough of the huge RPG AC games, and have the newly patched up 4K60fps Syndicate as my go-to AC fix :)
Email from PlayStation - Our final PlayStation Store sale of the year is back....the January sale...and here's me thinking January was the start of the year....Was briefly tempted by SW Outlaws for £45, Dead Rising Remaster and even Black Ops 6, but know I'd not stick with any of those and it'd be a complete waste
That January sale isn't bad actually, especially compared to some recent sales. SW Jedi Survivor is tempting along with a few others.
Think I'll likely haw Alien: Rogue Incursion tomorrow...though facehuggers in VR sounds like a heart attack waiting to happen ;)
ACOdyssey is brilliant. Right up there with the Horizon games (not as pretty, but a stunning world nonetheless). Almost up there with Skyrim...but not quite lol.Amazing almost impossible to put down loot-athon, quests coming out of everywhere, so much to see and do!
Yeah, Odyssey was the last AC I've really enjoyed, not been able to get into one properly since. Probably the best of the series for me
We, on the other hand, have a great team with a coach that doenst have a clue what he´s doing...
