The only thing is, I don't really want to play ACSyndicate right now - I have a massive soft spot for it, completed back when it came out, but just wanted to try out the new performance, but it has put me back in the mood for some AC! So...may finally brave the epic that is ACOdyssey. I absolutely loved Origins when I played that last year - I reckon I'll get on well with Odyssey.

It’s a good game Deckard. Along the lines of Left4Dead but Warhammer. On Xbox Series X it had pretty low resolution at 60fps so I hope the Pro does its job. The artwork though is very good.

Also played the prologue and obe of the missions in Darktide and looks like fun, mostly, though some of the objectives seem a bit obscure. Likely the type of game I'll only play in short bursts
Not all mini-LEDs are the same. Depends on the number of dimming zones. More dimming zones the better the contrast and the blacks. And quite often the manufacturers don't advertise how many dimming zones there are so might be worth putting the model number of the TV you're interested in into rtings.com and they have probably measured it for you. And generally it's good to check on rtings on what they think of the TV generally for gaming, HDR gaming, normal TV use etc. OLED is defo the best technology but unfortunately it costs.

Generally speaking TVs are cheapest around April/May. TVs are updated each year a bit like smart phones so they phase out last year's model at a cheaper price and launch the new models at inflated prices. In other words, you're getting last year's model at a cheaper price before the launch of the new model. In some cases taking expensive OLED TVs for example you're paying on launch £2000+ (sometimes nearer £3000) and in the following year in April/May you would get the same TV for £1200-1500. Means you need to keep a close eye on prices earlier in the year so you don't miss the cheaper-price boat. Best places to buy TVs are John Lewis, Richer Sounds and one or two others as they tend to offer free 5-6 year warranties but check before you buy (and I've used these extended warranties a couple of times no problem to replace broken TVs and even to get complete refunds years later if they cannot replace like with like).
I'll expect something. I'll let you know ;)
I've been keeping an eye on the 65inch Samsung S90D which was well over £3000 on launch but is now £1599 but I'm seeing if it will go lower next spring.

Morning all. It's increasingly becoming quieter around here. Anyways. I played more Star Wars Outlaws over the weekend and I've visited three worlds now with the latest being Tatooine - which is my favourite world so far and of course the most nostalgic. Looks like I've got only a few hours to go to complete the campaign. And I have to say it's been a mixed bag but I have actually really enjoyed it. On Tatooine had my first boss fight which was really frustrating and not very well done - it worked ok but why create such an annoying boss fight. Like Benny Hill running around a room.

Anyway, yesterday I started Lake and was just the thing to ease me back in. I've nearly finished it but just need to play the 3 different endings which I can do from a manual save just before the end. It has one of the oddest Easter Eggs I've come across in gaming, a guy with a metal detector who appears randomly and when you talk to him is voiced by Mackenzie Crook who played a detectorist in the BBC1 show The Detectorists. I'm pretty sure its him doing the voice, otherwise a very good impresssion. Not sure how a character from a UK TV series ends up in an indie game set in Oregon but was an interesting find.

It's obviously very much like Origins...but a little quirkier. The graphics are more vibrant but not necessarily better, more just a little over-saturated to make the world pop. All good. But it's the quests, some of them have a bizarre comedy edge, and there's loads of swearing, which don't get wrong, is fine considering the game is about killing and has loads of gore etc. but i don't remember this much swearing in previous AC games.
The game just seems to have much more playful edge to it, bordering on zany/comedy at times, but it's not too much and overall i'm really enjoying it :)
Hi everyone!!
finished ME 2 LE and went straight to ME 3.
Might aswell finish the whole saga.
I´ve also been havint a blast playing Doom (the very first one that they remastered for the Xbox along with D2) and its still as amazing as before. I just cant stop playing.
Lastly, im considering buying a new TV this xmas but im not convinced yet.
Can someone tell me if a brand new Oled tv does make DAT diference when playing games? I mean, enough to justify paying 900 eur?

Everyone chosen their 30th Anniversary theme on their PS5. Which is your favourite? Gone for PS1 for now myself.
Difficult to say on whether 900 euro can be justified for an OLED. Only you will know that once you try it. For me OLED makes a big difference for gaming - better colours, better contrast which all makes the game details pop more. However, personally I much prefer the QD-OLEDs - they are very bright for an OLED - from Samsung (and LG do an equivalent with different tech but again much brighter than the norm) but they cost and unfortunately this year only the Q90D 65inch is actually quantum dot and the others aren't even though they advertise them as such. The thing to remember about the more traditional WOLEDs is that they are not very bright and in a bright room you will struggle to see the picture during bright daylight hours.

Thanks mate.
I see. I plan to buy one for my bedroom which i mostly play at night so brightness shouldnt be a problem.
But i do like my games a bit on the bright side which is one of the reasons i want a new tv. HDR i n my current tv is darker than i like and it annoys me a bit but the tv is a bit old now so i guess the new one´s should look better.
I dont know mate...i feel like i should upgrade but its not like i actually need a new tv. It the old one broke then it would be a no brainer but its not the case.
What to do? :(

Best bet it is to enter the model of your TV that you're thinking of buying into rtings.com. See what they say. They are really thorough and cover things like HDR gaming.

I have gone for ps3. It's a bit annoying how the ps1 and ps2 themes have a solid graphic which blocks the top of the screen. The ps3 theme is translucent.
I'm not mad about the retro animation on startup but absolutely LOVE the retro sound effects. Dearly hope Sony make it an option permanently.

Played the second ending of Lake last night so just the final one to do tonight.

Hi mates
I went with the PS3 theme.
But is it just me or most of the time you cant see much of it anyway?

Nice little game and would recommend if you want something short and very easy going. Would have finished it a lot sooner but my lad wanted to drive the van.

Hi all
So...anyone excited for Indiana Jones?
I myself have high hopes that it can be a cool game.

However I'm not sure I'll work in first person. I hate games where there's a lot of climbing or jumping across different platforms in first person view so I don't think it'll be for me. I think about playing Uncharted or Tomb Raider in first person and feel dizzy.

It looks OK but I've not seen much game play. And apparently it has 4 hours of cut scenes. I suspect it will be underwhelming but Ill play it for free.

I´ll try it out since it will be on Gamepass.
Lets see how it goes.
You guys know those random and inexplicable itches about games that come out of nowhere?
Well, today i have dat itch for Conan Exiles.
Has anyone played it and advise it its worth the trouble?

its a survival game isnt it?
I usually get stressed for the constant timers in those games despite thinking i would end up loving them if i take my time.
I just always loved the Conan universe and saw a video of some dude relaxing and exploring in a really cool seting and got the itch.

Thats good to know.
I couldnt properly enjoy Subnautica until they added a mode without the hunger meter.
Do you enjoy survival games Deck?

Im the same Deck.
I find them fascinatingbut i cant bring myself to overcome the stress they cause me.
I once tried Green Hell and after 3 days put myself in a situation where i had a fever caused by drinking water from a pond, then started alucinating while dying of hunger and thirst with no food around me.
I got to a point where i just quit and returned to my peacefull real life.

In VR? Its must be really immersive.
I only finished 1 game in my VR set. It was an action game simiar to a James Bond movie but i cant remember the name.
I had great fun with it but i never felt the will to properly play another VR game so far.
What a waste of 500 bucks...

To any Man Utd fan here...thanks for taking away our coach.
Sporting lost again last night. 3 defeats in a row and counting...

It wasn't me - I just watch them on the telly. He's had a decent start to his Man Utd career. Arsenal only beat us on set-pieces and otherwise we looked solid without having a real threat. He needs time to get in his own players as clearly we have a lot of players that need moving out. He can't polish a turd :-). We've bought a lot of very medicore players and have a lot of players without the right mindset.
