Hi all
Finished Mass Effect 1 LE last night.
What an amazing game it still is. Easily 9/10. One of the best stories ever created for sure.
My plan was to start Dead Rising 3 or The Witcher 2 but i may just start ME 2 right away.
I need to deal with the Reapers!!

I played ME1 LE probably a year or more ago but for me the experience was no where near as good as the first time I played it on 360. Good game but showing its age. Put me off replaying 2 and 3.

That´s unfortunate mate.
I played the original back when it was released on PC (still remember it had a bug and the game freezed in the ship loading screen for 2 weeks until the patch lol) so my memory of the story was pretty vague.
I found the lore and story details even more fascinating this time around. The gameplay itself is good but nothing groundbreaking for today´s standards but it got me really immersed nonetheless.
I kept thinking during the playtrhough that no way any game these days would waste so much time in building a lore like this and add so many "pointless" yet immersive details in the world.

Yea the story is still exceptional - a good story stands the test of time - but it was mainly the game itself. Just a little dated but still good. I enjoyed it much much more when I first played it on 360. In fact at the time it blew me away. It was one of the first games I played on 360.

Just out of curiosity...who did you guys romance?
The first time i played the trilogy i went with Liara.
This time around i wanted to romance Thali the whole game and didnt realize it was onlly possible in the sequel so i ended up romancing Ashley without actually realizing it until we did the deed.

I tried Persona 5 and felt exactly the same way.
Spent probably 2 weeks just to finish the first dungeon and going through all the story and weirdness of the whole thing.
I enjoyed it quite a bit but after finishing that part of the story i realized i had another 2 or 3 months ahead of me and put it on hold.

Tried my luck at jumping in a Ruthless difficulty game in matchmaking and got to the last boss before our squad got wiped out. Not too down on that though as it definitely looks doable and I still have scope for levelling up a bit more.

I've managed to do an Operation coop mission in Space Marine 2. I nearly did a second one earlier but the game errorred at the end and forced a shutdown of the game. Heart breaking scenes.

Yeah, that'd be annoying. I'd tried a few of the coop missions with randos, and it seemed a bit hit or miss with who you were paired with on whether you completed or not, even at lower difficulties. Hope the errors not a regular thing, because it'll probably be one of the first things i reinstall once the Pro is out

I logged on later and completed two more missions on Ruthless difficulty, picking up two top tier armoury upgrades on each run. This more than made up for that other run going kaput.
Played some more Space Marine 2. I was gonna leave it for my Pro but I have nothing else I want to play. Played two more campaign missions and one operation with randoms. Yea it’s really good. Lots of fun. Although I can’t believe I’m half way through the campaign already but I guess the operations are basically campaign. I doubt I’ll complete all missions by the time I get my Pro so hopefully fingers crossed a Pro patch is released.
Also seem to have an annoying bug with my console. When switching on from rest mode after signing in I don’t get a crossbar just the background. Power down sorts it but I think it’s a firmware thing and not a hardware problem.

I mopped up the missing dataslate collectibles on SM2 last night. Ive just got one more to get tonight and that's another thing ticked off.
My trophy stats say im 96% towards getting the 20,000 kills trophy after approx 50 hours. I think its going to be a while then before the 41,000 kills one pings! I'm quite happy to keep running Ops but i might also look into good farming spots to help things along.
Yea I like the new welcome hub thingyme. It does help to feel connected. Suprised it's taken this long as the US has had a form of it for years on PS5.
I won't be going for the plat on SM2. Not that I go for plats often anyway. Is the campaign only six missions? I've already done three so it seems like a really short campaign.

Operations is kind of more campaign as you're completing missions that are happening at the same time as the campaign and are referenced in the campaign. Plus they will be adding more of these for free.
Apparently the game has sold really well so SM3 is almost inevitable. Hopefully without the 13 gap though.

Its a Control spin off. 3 player coop shooter set in The Old House from Control. Its first person instead of third person which is odd but it looks like it could be a lot of fun.
No I didn’t but I just watched the developer preview. Looks good, obviously best with mates but on what I’ve seen doesn’t look very Control like. Still, might be very good and at least I can try it for free on Games Pass.

that's 2 days of play for you Deck. Easy street.

Plat is looking more of an effort than I thought, looking like I'll need to hit lvl 99 (or close to) in NG+ to defeat one enemy. Skipping all the cut scenes will speed things up greatly, but it's going to be a bit of a grind

Really? That'll be great if it does.

How long did it take you? I'm still in the first city. I finished the dungeon and am doing my daily activities.

I'm probably the only one that plays COD MP in here but do Activision make installing COD a real pain in the arse. COD is one install for all games now (has been for a few years) and with BO6 release imminent they update the install with BO6 and delete MW3 so I have to f-about managing files to redownload MW3. Honestly it's a pain and massive downloads too for no point - just to get back what you had before they f'd it up.
I've also decided to have a little reconfiguration of my gaming room soon. I have my PS5, Series X and PS4 Pro set-up but I don't use the PS4-Pro anymore. So, I'm going to fish out my PS3 and 360 and set those up alongside my new PS5 Pro when it arrives and my Series X. Gives me a few options of digging back into the best console generation now and again, considering it's the gen where I have purchased the most games. Only now and again for a bit of nostalgia. No point having a PS4 set-up when PS5 runs all the PS4 games.

That is about right. I've maybe 15 to 18 hours in and just finishing up the daily activities in the first City. I've the two outside area quest to do first though.
Hi all
Been playing ME 2 and i pretty much have the same opinion i had when it came out.
Its a good game but a step down from the RPG that ME1 was and the vibe is very diferent.
Its good but i´ve been playing for 10 hrs so far and i completely forgot about the Collectors until yesterday. In ME 1 i had the main story 100% present all the time and thats where the drive was.
Also, removing the weapon and armor stats and the Mako was just stupid, imo.
Edit
Im considering hawing Silent Hill 2 for Halloween.

The shooting mechanics for ME1 were improved in the Legendary Edition so the improvement in ME2 LE isn't as noticeable but between the PS360 versions, the difference was night and day.
I don't dislike the Mako as much as most people but I didn't miss it in ME2 and ME3. In ME1 you'd just drive around planets to pretty much copy and paste bunkers.
The story is better in ME1 but ME2 is my favourite with ME3 just behind. I don't feel the sequels lost anything, just improved on everything else from what is a fantastic first game. Best trilogy ever.
Are you moving straight onto ME3 after ME2?

I understand what you´re saying and ME2 does have a more polished feel to it.
Maybe its because i just played ME1 LE and the upgrades made it more closer to ME2.
But i always enjoyed more the RPG part of ME1 and still feel the same way. Im a sucker to comparing stats and not having that in ME 2 is kinda weird.
I also thought Dead Space 2 was inferior to 1 while everyone else felt the oposite so maybe its me.
I plan to play ME3 right after (since i remember thinking it was better then 2) but i fear i may get a bit burned out.
I would like to find the time to replay Stalker 1 cause i absolutely adored that game back in the day but never ended up playing the sequels.

Thanks for the warning Deck.
What problems did the patch bring?

Only went as far as the town before chickening out, but already had a lot fewer worries about it. No way are you getting me to wander through that fog...yet. Still plan to wait for the Pro though before getting stuck in, but regained a lot of enthusiasm to play it from this very short play
