I won't be joining you guys in going Pro. If I did, I think my wife would separate me from my testicles, especially as I only got my PS5 amateur under 2 years ago.I am however likely to pick up a PS Portal when they drop nearer the £150 mark.

Personaly i only play with the S, X and PS5 but ocasionaly i resume my Deus Ex 1 playthrough on the PS3 and i´ve been playing XenoBlade Chronicles on the Wii for probably 12 years now.
I play on my PS3 quite a bit still, especially now it's decided to connect online again. Was playing Metro Last Light fairly recently on it.I do sometimes think about setting my PS2 back up and trying carry on with my Black playthrough (assuming I still have the memory card from where I left it in 2006). Probably never happen though.

If you can do it and it's a noticeable difference you should definitely go for it mate.Just promise me you won't buy the Horizon Zero Dawn Remaster ;)

I am wondering what to do about the lack of disc drive. I do have 25 PS4 disc games and 6 PS5 disc games. I think most if not all wouldn't get a Pro upgrade and nearly all I wouldn't play again anyway. The only game I'd like to play again is TLOU part 2 (PS4) which I believe you can upgrade to PS5 for a £10 (hopefully for discs too) otherwise I'd have to buy it again. And any PS4 game I can play on my PS4 Pro if I really wanted to. The only other reason to get a disc drive for my PS5 Pro is for birthday and christmas presents (from the missus). First world problems hey!
And deciding what to do with my PS5 Amateur. I might just put it in another room but with a Pro in the house I can't see me using it, even for the disc drive as I want the Pro experience.

You can upgrade to the ps5 version of TLoU2 if you have the ps4 version on disc - it's what I did - but you NEED the ps4 disc in the machine every time you want to play the ps5 version, so if that's the route your thinking of then you will need to buy a disc drive for the ps5 pro.
When I eventually get a ps5 pro i will deffo be buying a disc drive. I'm actually hoping that by the time I get around to it, there might be a bundle available somewhere which includes a disc drive anyway (like when I bought my ps5 I got a bundle off shopto which included an additional controller).

90% of my backlog is digital so i really dont care much about the disk drive.
But i do think its moronic to charge so much for a console and still remove key components from the system.
If we had a huge PS5 library of games 100% digital i guess it would be acceptable but there´s still plenty of PS5 games being sold on disk so im totally against this move from Sony.
We all know this is to make gamers end up buying the same games again, even if on sale, just to avoid the hassle of buying and instaling a disk drive.
Don't know, they aren't going to cut off their nose to spite their face. The vast majority of game sales must be digital, making the disc drive a mostly unnecessary expense. You'd expect a lot more people to be up in arms otherwise, but there doesn't seem to be much of a backlash

I seem to be heading in a "nothing I have installed is really appealing" direction. Which, as it seems to happen more and more regularly, is making me question the need for a Pro again
Briefly thought about reinstalling Grid there, AC Valhalla too, possibly as some form of shock therapy ;)

I think even if I played it solely for the rest of the year, I'd still have many, many miles to go

Oh dear, oh dear...hours later, Grid is still sounding mildly appealing. That's 2025 sorted - spend the first half trying to plat Grid, then spend the second half in a padded cell ;)

I would play Space Marine 2 next but I’m going to wait for a PS5 Pro patch - fingers crossed. Seeing as I’ll be going on my holidays soon probably won’t start anything else for a good couple of weeks.
Personally, I'd not give Astrobot anywhere near a 9/10. Fair enough, I've probably not enjoyed a platformer since Super Mario Bros on the NES, but it's decent at best. Most of the fun comes from nostalgia, gameplay and originality is average at best. For me, even without the plat related frustrations, it's far from special. Probably sounds harsh and it is mostly good, but it'll not be anywhere near a game of the year contender, even in this drought.

Ping - Immortals of Aveum.I should have done the push for final collectibles a few days ago as it didn't take too long at all. You get an extra cut scene after finding everything too which was a very nice touch.
I was very unsure about the game initially but have to say its a very good first effort from a new studio. Unfortunately, and somewhat understandably, it didn't sell well so the chances of a sequel are extremely slim. Shame, as I would play a follow up if they smoothed some of the rough edges.
I've played it solidly for a whole month so definitely time for something else. Space Marine 2 would be the obvious choice but TLOU 1 Remake of a Remaster and Little Nightmares 2 are now also in the mix.
And now I've re-upped PS+ Extra, I'll likely download The Plucky Squire too.

Seem to have gotten a second wind in Dark Souls 2, though still struggling a bit more than I'd like. Just finished an area that the recommended level for (according to the Internet) was 80-90...I've one character at lvl 193 and another at 194. but neither of them found it particularly easy. Can deal with most enemies fine, but even if I do manage to finish, can't see me platting this one. Think NG+ will be too much of a struggle never mind NG++
The Legacy of Kain: Soul Reaver 1&2 getting a remaster digitally (at least) in December on the PS store. I’m assuming it’s similar to the one the original Tomb Raiders 1-3 got earlier this year. Games are mostly the same as originals but you can play either way, original or HD graphics. Graphically they’re obviously a big improvement and IMO worth picking up if you’re into nostalgia and/or just replaying some of the retro games over again.
Yeah, I'll likely be tempted by the Soul Reaver remasters, but not convinced they'll have aged too well.
The demo on the PS store looks good to me and I will most likely pick this up when it releases in December.
I'm sure it'll be fine. They've done a few recent light remasters, i think, and don't think I've heard many complaints.
Made surprisingly quick progress (for me at least) in Dark Souls 2 yesterday. Lit the last 2 primal bonfires and a couple of side areas, so think I'll be moving on to Drangleic Castle next. Think I've messed up a couple of the "inherit equipment" trophies though.
I've stuck 87 hours and 62 hours into 2 characters in Dark Souls 2 of late (yet still to finish)....but now tempted to start a third. Probably good reason I struggle to finish the Souls games. Still, nowt much else is appealing at the minute and in no big hurry, so I'll take a break from Dark Souls 2 to play...Dark Souls 2
Had a change of plan and stuck with the current character in DS2. Decided to spend a while grinding out covenant ranks for the sorceries/miracles etc instead. Seem to be on track for the all sorceries/miracles/hexes/pryomancies trophies at least

Somehow im finding a lot of the lore and Codex entries a lot easier to digest and understand this time around.
