No it’s not plausible nonsense. I’ve had a hdmi cable cause interference with an RF input on a set-top box causing intermittent loss of TV reception. Changing the HDMI cable to a decent well shielded cable solved the problem. For you I’m guessing you’re using the out of the box hdmi that came with the ps5 so doubt that’s the issue.
Decided to focus on Astro Bot over the weekend rather than play Space Marine 2 (I'll leave that for another time). I completed the serpent region and the Lizard (Geko/Chameleon) region. Both boss fights weren't too bad and I only needed 3-4 attempts tops for each. And the levels for each region weren't too frustrating and when that's the case they are a lot more enjoyable for me. I especially liked the Ghoul/Ghost level with the slow time power. I think I have one more region to go - the one with the bird. I'm not sure if the Lost Galaxy levels are part of the main campaign or not so if they are I need to do all of those too. I'm only going to complete the campaign of Astro Bot - those other rock hard single life levels can do one :-). I'm really enjoying Astro Bot, it's one of those Playstation games a lot of love and polish have gone into, but it's just the difficulty spikes which are not my cup of tea. Glad I bought it but I think my time is done with it when I rebuild the PS5 space ship which I expect is the end of the campaign.

My mate has been complaining of the same problem. You could try the charging dock pins on the controller instead - obviously you'll need a charging dock and it may not work, if the problem is common to the two charging ports.
Hi everyone!!
I need to get back to regular posting here.
Since i stopped for whatever work reasons, gaming has been somewhat boring to me.
I miss sharing my gaming updates with you guys...and also nag Deck about Andromeda.
I will make an effort to keep my posting more regular from now on.
I finished a little game called Blacktail a couple of days ago.
Has anyone played it? Its pretty cool. Bow and arrow mixed with magic in first person in a crazy and really interesting fantasy world.
I´ve been in a mindset lately where all i want to play is older games so i started Mass Effect 1 from the new trilogy and damn...all i want to go is go back home to play again.
The attention to detail is something that is mostly lost these days.
Even in the codex where all the primary entries are all voice acted...what game would do that now?

I'm fighting with myself over getting a PS5 Pro. My head is saying don't be stupid - the improvements look minimal, it's £700 without a disc drive, and PS6 will be out in 3 years and I'll buy PS6 day one. The little devil on my shoulder is telling me "I need it and must have it!". Seriously though I bought both PS4 Pro and Xbox One X and they were both great but 3 years soon passes and it's then next gen and they felt short lived for a lot of money.
The rumour mill has started on next gen and some insider (could be entirely bogus and often is) says there are two SoCs (system on chips) for PS6 and that could either mean a weaker but affordable PS6 and a more powerful expensive PS6, or perhaps instead a PS6 home console and a handheld. My bet would be the former. PS6 could easily be £700+ so to have a cheaper option would make sense.

Im the same.
I dont think its worth the money at all but i know that i will eventually reach a day where i start thinking about it and how some games will benefit from improved frame rates and all.
I do hope i dont crack cause i dont have a clue how i will justify it to the mrs when i already have two PS5...

I still think I'm going to say no for now and upgrade my TV instead, if there are any decent sales

My fear is that they start making games at 30 fps for the normal PS5 and upgrades to 60 fps exclusive for the Pro.

I know but Sony has been a bit greedy as of lately so i woudnt be surprised if they put off a dick move and make the 60 fps upgrade exclusive to the Pro in the future.
Personaly i have a really hard time playing games at 30 fps these days.

True.
its a really strange situations.
I´ve having the same vibes i used to get when i was a Pc gamer. Upgrade my rig to enable more visual features until the the specs were not enough and upgrade again. Only to get 10% improvements at a time.

If ps5 pro is 60fps default with much sharper images I’ll be very tempted. I’m tired of having the option of 4k 30fps (not an option for me) or blurry sub 1080p at ropey 60fps. This gen has been quite disappointing in that sense.

Personaly my level of attention for 1080 or 4k or even texture details lasts 10 seconds.
After that i dont even see any diference. What really impacts me if the frame rate.
Hell, i had a blast replaying Fallout 3 last year on the X and i didnt even noticed any diference int he graphics but the 60 fps boost was a godsent.

I at least need a sharp-ish image. I don’t care about ray tracing if the image is actually blurry but yea I can’t do 30fps any more.

Hi all
Played more Mass Effect 1 last night.
They should do a movie about it. So much interesting lore in the franchise.

I still think it was not as bad as people said at the time. :P
You should try out Blacktail mate.
It was really nice surprise.

Its not a great game per say. Its one of those indie titles that you think will be nothing special and you get surprise by the amount of good work the devs punt into it.
Anyone watch the State of Play last night? Not a huge amount for me. The new Ghosts game (Yotei) looks good but the first albeit good wasn't something that really got me excited (very AC like) - something I'll definitely play, but maybe not on release. The Horizon Zero Dawn remake is not for me. Played the first, the sequel was much the better game, and I have no intention of replaying Zero Dawn - too recent for a start. Hell in Us caught my attention but need to know more - could be a bit Dark Souls like, as in, rock hard. I'll get the Alan Wake 2 DLC in a sale. Other than that, and the games we already knew about, not much caught my eye. And the free PS+ games in October - nothing there either. I've just played the Dead Space remake.

Seem to remember enjoying the Legacy of Kain Soul Reaver games but doubt they've aged well.
Horizon Remaster was probably inevitable but yeah not much enthusiasm for a replay here either.

Perhaps the biggest news for me was TLOU Part 1 coming to PS+ Extra...just as my sub drops down to Essential only. Maybe I could play it for the four days between it coming out and my access to Extra ending. Just hate feeling rushed though. Could maybe bump my sub back up a level?
Re Mass Effect, I heard a TV series was in the works with Henry Cavill involved (presumably as Shepherd). Not heard anything for ages though so could have been BS. I'd love a quality show or film though. Based on the original trilogy, not Andromeda ;)

I've also played TLOU pt 1 remaster relatively recently too. I need to stop buying games :-). Actually it was a present - not so bad. I'm holding out on Spiderman 2 for sure.

Hi all
Im waiting for a price drop on TLOU 1 remake cause im not paying 70 eur for a game i´ve alread yplayed 3 times as pretty as it may look.
I´ve decided that i´ll be playing only old games till the end of the hawing year with the only expection being System Shock Remake.
I need to recover the magic that older games gave me.
There´s literaly not a single recent game that excites me to play.

I'm hoping Space Marine 2 gives some old school excitement though. It's meant to be like a 3rd person shooter you'd have found on the PS3 or 360 but with modern visuals.
Space Marines looks pretty good for sure.
Im currently having a blast with Mass Effect 1 and when i get a bit tired i´ll also start Dead Rising 3.
I also have Fable 1 on my itch list Never played any Fable before.

I hope the rumoured ME4 is just more of that but with better visuals.

Space Marine 2 is a bit of a weird one, definitely has an old school feel, and generally had a good time with what I've done...but can't seem to motivate myself to finish it off. Could be I'm making headway in Dark Souls 2 though and keep jumping back to it

Dark Souls 2...Im stuck in that pirate´s cave for 6 or 7 years now.
Sometimes i feel the itch to play, load it, ALWAYS mess up the buttons, end up dying because of the damn dogs and quit again. :(

Astro Bot - 9/10 (in progress but close to the end)
Sniper Ghost Warrior Contracts 2 - 7/10 (loved it but needed more polish)

Dredge - 8/10
Terminator Resistance - 9/10
The Entropy Centre - 9/10
Evil West - 7/10
Alan Wake 2 - 8/10
RoboCop Rogue City - 9/10

i tihnk including in-progress is cheating. We need to revise this point. lol
9/10 for Terminator Resistance? Thats great.
I played a couple of hours and was really enjoying it. Not sure why i stopped but it wasnt because i wasnt liking it.
What did you think of Still Wakes the Deep mate?
I enjoyed it quite a bit.
The atmosphere was top notch.

Yea I liked the Scottishness of it and the atmosphere was great. Only very slightly lacking in the ending game play wise and follow the yellow path which broke the immersion a bit. Otherwise yea pretty good.

Assassin’s Creed Shadows delayed to February next year. I wasn’t going to get it on release but I’ll probably get it eventually.

A Plague Tale: Requiem - 7/10
Hot Wheels 2 - 7.5/10
Robocop: Rogue City - 7.5/10
Spider-man 2 - 6.5/10
Helldivers 2 - 9/10 - Proof live services games can work and a template on how to do it. Tremendous fun, especially in a group with comms
Immortals of Aveum - 8/10 - Some great ideas and gameplay mechanics. A bit rough in areas and obscene difficulty spikes. It grew on me as I played it.

Elden Ring (PS4)
Like a Dragon Infinite Wealth (PS5)
Alan Wake 2 (PS5)
Swamp Defense 2 (PS4)
Cities Skylines (PS4 & PS5)

Bit quieter plat wise but some meaty ones in there. And add a tonne of other games played but not platted to those
