Up to 79.83% completion on PSNP though ;)
Should be a new sale on the PS store sale today. Will have a browse for inspiration.

Thought I'd prepare to take on New Londo's ghosts without being cursed by making a cursed weapon. So spent a while gathering materials. Went to create the weapon...and forgot to look what stats I needed to use it....
So then thought I'd explore elsewhere while levelling to get the stats and decided on the Demon Ruins. Giant obviously fire resistant monster standing in lava....and I try to take it on with a sword imbued with fire.. After a few minutes, it was looking grim, so legged it back to the fog gate. Didn't realise there was a cheesy (probably more of a gimmick than a cheese) method of beating him but luckily stumbled on it. After fluking that, decided Demon Ruins was a bad idea with the sword, so looked for a third destination.
The Tomb of Giant Annoyances. Think I was having one of those days where concentration and patience was a bit lacking. If I wasn't falling down holes, I was jumping right into the middle of hard hitting enemies. Finally got the message, and went back to titanite farming

Did have fun with a boss fight I'd never previously found. Think it was a dlc one, the Sanctuary Guardian. Felt more like a modern FromSoft boss, always on the move, with only a few opportunities to counter. Managed to scrape through with no estus flask uses remaining.
Think I'll either take a break from Souls over the weekend or, more likely, mess about with a new character if I can't find anything that catches my attention

Started Sniper Ghost Warrior Contracts 2 over the weekend. Only played about 90 mins. It's a PS5 game but looks more PS4. It's enjoyable enough and the sniping is a bit more involved than Sniper Elite but pretty straighforward. I think Sniper Elite is the better game however. It'll keep me occupied for a weekend or two.

It's free though so possibly a reason some reviewers got a tad over enthusiastic.

I'm tempted to download TLOU Part 2 and try the No Return DLC. I'd written that off like Valhalla but it might be alright.

Reinstalled Dark Souls 2 now, but it's one I didn't really get along with. The limited respawning of enemies just limits everything for me. I'll give it a go and see if it clicks but might just move on to 3 while I'm in a Souls mood

I've decided to go full sorcerer in DS2 from the start, not sure whether that'll delay or speed up moving on to 3.

Enjoying Dark Souls 2, may not be my favourite but still better than most soulslikes
That’s one hell of an achievement completing Valhalla. I gave up after 30 hours of dull repetition and barely half way through the campaign.

I will champion Dark Souls 2 forever. It's highly underrated and has many of the best locations in the entire series. Also best fashion souls, until Elden Ring came out.

I wanted to play AC Valhalla when it was announced but glad I didn't. Sounded massively bloated. The only big open world AC I've played is Origins and I can't say I enjoyed that. Just felt like a chore clearing all the ?s off the map.
Will definitely try Mirage soonish but no plans to ever play Odyssey or Valhalla.

I used to think the limited respawn was a way of them forcing the online bits, now I think it's mostly down to the low levelling requirements. It was lvl 84 before it crossed the 10k mark, and you can get 1200 each time you kill the ogre near the start with the covetous silver serpent ring, meaning it's more than possible to get overlevelled early on. Think 2 has shot up in my evaluation ;)

Firing the spells feels as much like firing a gun as I was hoping. I'm playing on the third out of four difficulty levels and it's been quite tough in a couple of places but overall, not too bad.

Sorcerer looks like being a good choice, don't think I cope with the extra damage enemies do in the covenant of champions as a melee type, so would either have gotten bored of farming lesser enemies or just struggled on without

I did the same thing. I had one section that took me many tries to get through and that kind of killed my enthusiasm for the game. I keep thinking I'll get back to it, but haven't loaded it up yet.
Completed Sniper Ghost Warrior Contracts 2 and really enjoyed it. Good sniper game. Had a few bugs requiring last save reload - like holding invisible weapons - but nothing game breaking. 7/10 on the r-score-o-meter. Next unless something comes onto Game Pass or PS Plus Extra I think it’ll have to be a new release game. One of Astro Bot, Star Wars Outlaws or Warhammer. Needs must.

I'm also on the souls kick: got the pyro on DS1 up to Orstein & Smough. That is where I will pick things up whenever I get the chance.

Will try and finish the story at the very least but not sure I'll want to spend the time required trying to plat it.
Morning all. Still not playing anything after Sniper Ghost Warrior. I did try the Blops 6 multiplayer beta on XBox Game Pass Ultimate. I didn't think it was possible to make a COD even faster (twitch shooting wise) but they have managed it yet again. Still not sure what my next game is, my gaming mojo is shot to pieces, but I'm eyeing Space Marine 2 most likely.

I also did the final extra bot trophy in Astrobot's Playroom. Since July they've added a PS themed bot to be rescued and an associates trophy in the run up to the new game being released. It was Ape Escape this time.

Played a bit more Dark Souls 2, a bit of Diablo IV, and gave Black Myth Wukong a go, which isn't bad but looks a bit on the tough side. But overall, nothing is really inspiring me. Half tempted to pick up Hogwarts Legacy while it's on offer, even though I've less than zero interest in Harry Potter

So did anyone pick up Concord? ;)
Just pre-ordered Space Marine 2. Only went for the standard edition saving £5.50 with ps vouchers bought from cdkeys.

I think even if Concord went free-to-play it has still missed the hero-shooter boat which sailed years ago. And other recent hero-shooters have equally missed the mark/boat. Massive failure. From what I played of the beta it was completely uninspired and unoriginal but otherwise competent. I can only see Sony supporting it for a year then pulling the plug on further updates, or putting it on PS Plus (or free to play) and hoping it picks up a larger audience - it's probably doomed to fail now.
I think the only new multiplayer shooter to stand a chance on console (which is not currently one of the big hitters) is Delta Force.

Hogwarts legacy is fantastic, and nothing to do with Harry Potter nor any of the characters in Harry Potter. It's set in the 1800s before anyone from the Harry Potter books/films was born. Set in the wizarding world yes, Harry Potter no.

That's both Terminator and Robocop pinged this year. Both great fun, Robocop was better, better characters, better writing, acting, more fun gameplay, but Terminator was still a fun little game, and Enhanced runs super smooth etc on ps5. Performance wise probably better than Robocop, but Robocop better in every other way - just.
Both really nailed their license though. Teyon a good little dev!
Yea both really good games for a small dev. I platted both too but I probably only very slightly preferred Terminator.

There are also trophies for killing 20000 and 40000 enemies in total. That's quite the grind.

Forget the trophies, enjoy the game? Go for the plat if it's fun and doable but first and foremost enjoy the game?
