Well now I have the itch to re-download Hitman. Maybe I'll finish it this time.
Didn't realise that Hitman 3 was playable on PSVR. Sounds like I'll have to download the PS4 version of the game to play it though. Not sure how it'll work though, have they changed it to first person view? Meh, doesn't really matter, something I'll give a go one way or another and see for myself.I do like way they've done this recent trilogy. There was still a lot of variety in the way you could go about things in the older games but to me it seems they took it to a whole new level. And in an age of throwaway games, they are almost infinitely replayable. Probably getting a little carried away there ;)

Thanks for the tip. I’m on the mission called Recompile. Think I’ve complete another 5 missions since last posting. Two boss fights were dead easy but I really struggled with beating Celine - Trace Protocol mission. The timer in this boss fight means nothing really so after around my tenth attempt I killed everything including Celine. I beat the timer twice before but died after without killing everyone and was sent back to before the boss fight. I really struggled at first but my final attempt I breezed through it easily lol. I also struggled on the Data Miner boss fight with the giant spider - on my first attempt there were two bosses lol, which I think was a bug. Must have died 7 times on the spider bot boss fight but on my final attempt the boss seemed a lot less aggressive and it was then easy. Very odd. Overall though loving this game a lot - but like you say it needs some work to iron out broken game features albeit for me not blocking progress. No further crashes however - just the one so far after a good 12-13 hours.
Had a bit of a Hitman marathon over the weekend and managed to finish the trilogy. I'd probably rate them in the order they were released - 1 the strongest, 3 the weakest (though still very decent). I think 1 had the best overall level design, 2 & 3 had some great levels but were a bit more hit and miss and at times overcomplicated. Going to stick with it for a while longer, can't see me platting it (though it does look doable, but probably too much of a grind) but I'm still enjoying it and it'll keep me going till something else catches the eye.
I'd have been quite happy to keep playing Hitman 3 and try to master all the levels but it seems the game doesn't want that. Yesterday, within a couple of hours, I had 3 game crashes and 4 screen freezes, so now my patience with it has gone. At least it waited until I played through the entire trilogy once before having issues.Had the urge to reinstall Nioh 2, haven't really touched the dlc much, might get stuck into that. Or maybe a bit more Borderlands 3 PS5, though I seem to only be able yo do a side mission or two before losing interest
I finished The Ascent yesterday. I would like to keep playing, but 2/3 side quests I started post-game were bugged. That means four out of the eight or so side quests I still have can't be completed. I will set it aside, and maybe come back if I hear that they fix it. I had a lot of enjoyment out of the game, also a lot of frustration. World building is 11/10, everything else was a 5/10. That equals out to 8/10. Give the Ascent a chance once it is patched up.

Rob - I went up three levels in that spot before completing it. If your not already using it, overclock + rejuv field is how I made it through the game. That is actually the spot where I discovered it is a good combo. You can often just sit in the rejuv field and take out enemies with out sustaining damage, or even gaining it back. The overclock makes you generate the tactical charge for rejuv field faster.When this game decides to give you a hard time, it's controller smashing frustration.

Weird urge to replay Batman Arkham Knight. Can't see me playing through the whole thing again though, it's one of those games once is probably enough.Since Hitman 3 decided I'd killed enough, I played a bit of WRC 7 for some reason yesterday. Not terrible driving wise, not platable either though (couple of MP trophies but looks like servers are closed).

Been having a really great time with Far Cry 5.
I liberated one region (the one with Jacob´s brother) and im halfway through the second (with the girl Faith). I just love wandering around the map and doing stuff as i discover things.
The missions so far have been varied enough not to get boring,
Sometimes i wonder why Ubisoft doenst take a chance and make a proper action rpg with the Far Cry template. It begs for a Fallout 3 rpg experience but with the solid fps shooting mechanics of FC.
I always fell a bit deflated when i complete a mission or enter a town and talk with the people and there´s nothing besides giving me a mission or some pointless line.
It would be amazing to turn the whole thing into an rpg.
I've just finished Jedi: Fallen Order. Didn't enjoy it at first as I don't like puzzles and there were 2 tombs with puzzles that i had to complete. I also found the holomap to be an utter twat to use. That said once I'd got past the tombs I really started to enjoy the game & by the end I was loving it. I really enjoyed the story & Cal was a total badass Jedi once he had levelled up.
Morning all. Since last posting I have played Killzone 2 through on easy and enjoyed it much more the second time round having found a suitable control layout. Was well worth the 50p I paid for it at CEX. Still looks good graphically and the disc, box etc is all in good nick.
I've completed all the Dirt 5 DLC currently available so that's back to 100% now. Not the best DLC but I enjoyed playing it again and bought it on sale so was decent value for money.
I'm currently playing Borderlands 3 DLC which I'm enjoying more than I thought I would. I was slightly underwhelmed by BL3 when I played it a few years ago. Yeah, I've played a couple of the BL3 DLCs too and thought they've been better than the main story. Hadn't got as far as Hammerlock in the main story on PS5, so was leaving that DLC till I caught up, but lose interest pretty quick when I try to make progress. Think it'll be one of those I'll come back to every few months and chip away at and get though it all eventually.

Unfortunately the KZ2 servers were switched off back in 2018. I heard it was good but never played it.
Not sure if the KZ3 ones are still active but probably not. Just Shadowfall I think on the PS4.

Yea I wasn’t expecting the multiplayer would still be live but I do fancy playing some old PS3 games like Killzone and some others.

I never played any Killzone.I was interested in Shadowfall one time but never hawed it.
I did play one called Resistance in the Ps3 but i never played more then 1 hr. I was coming from the PC and the game felt really awkward in regards of movement. I also have the sequel still with the plastic on believe it or not.

It was Hancock that was referring to the PS3 Wolfenstein. I’ve actually got it too but I didn’t like it. I prefer the new games. Each to their own though. Yea Resistance on PS3 was a little clunky and average graphics for the time but I really enjoyed it - I liked the world and back story, and it was a solid shooter. By the time Resistance 3 was released they managed to nail a really good game IMO. They stole a lot of ideas but it was the best of the three. I played killzone 2, 3 and Shadowfall and the campaigns for me were all decent. I loved the multiplayer however with kz2 being by far my favourite. I remember when I bought my PS3 waiting for a decent exclusive to come out on it - early on the PS3 exclusives really didn’t have any decent graphics. Anyone remember Haze - people were so desperate for a graphical showpiece for PS3 in its first couple of years and then they release the most overhyped and under delivered exclusive in Haze. And then KZ2 came out and blew everyone away graphically. Loved it at the time.
Resistance 3 was brilliant. Even more so because entire campaign could be played in coop. I think R3 was my 3rd or 4th plat, partly in thanks to the fact the campaign could be coop'd. Some of the weapons were brilliant and almost out of a Ratchet and Clank game like the singularity gun that would create a blackhole and swallow enemies up. Both from Insomniac Games so likely some influence with the weapons.
I finished the Moxxi's Heist BL3 DLC last night. Great stuff.
I know tonight will be one of those nights where I spend an hour deciding what to play next and then play nothing. Might just default to more BL3 if I don't fancy the potential frustration of trying gold medals on the Wolfenstein challenge maps in The Old Blood.

Now I want to grab a copy of Resistance 3 as I’ve never played any in the series and it’s rated the best of the 3. The coop also sounds interesting.As for Wolfenstein (ps3) most don’t seem to appreciate it as much as I do. I got curious though and there at the top of the American ratings for it on amazon is a 5 star review posted in 2014 by Midway47. Lol
I've been in a "nothing I have installed is appealing" kind of mood since Agent 47 decided to retire on medical grounds. Two Point Hospital, Xcom 2, Borderlands 3, Shadow of War, Arkham Knight, WRC 7 - all attempted to get stuck into, none of them having the desired effect. The start of this new gen has been pretty woeful for me, so much so, only one of the games I attempted to play yesterday is PS5. And Sony aren't helping with their recent crappy sales. Did the current one really need to go on for 3 weeks considering what there is on offer?

I really want to play Ghosts of Tsushima (partly because its an easy plat apparently) but I've got a feeling I'm not going to like it. I'm happy to chance it if it's cheap but it's never dropped below £30 and even worse now with the directors cut coming out.

Yes, this whole new gen thus far is a resounding wet fart. The best games I've played in the past year are PS3/360 era games and indies. Completely cured my fomo not picking up the Series X yet. I've settled into playing whatever Game Pass throws at me or digging through the backlog for something appealing.Speaking of which, Hades releases tomorrow. I'm looking forward to that quite a bit. As a rogue-like fan, I'm sure I'll get along with it quite well.
Yes, I can confirm Ghost of Tsushima is a pretty straight forward plat. Enjoyed it too, I felt it was more similar to a Ubisoft game than a Sony exclusive, so that may be why. I'm tempted to pay the extra £25 for the PS5 version, though that's a bit of a joke when a lot of supposedly lesser companies are giving upgrades away for free. Could be partly down to COVID but Sony seem to be very stingy of late.
Good game though and that's from someone who generally doesn't enjoy their exclusives as much as most
In my opinion Sony are really stinking up the place with their BS at the moment. It doesn't seem to be adversely affecting them either which is really annoying. I have a XSX and PS4Pro but I'm gonna buy my PS5 and all it's exclusive games second hand, not that they'll notice. Won't be for a while as CEx are asking for £695 for a console. Piss take.
I regularly look at the PS5 games on the store and the vast majority could probably be played on a PS1, hell some may be playable on a ZX Spectrum. Might be a slight exaggeration but not much. At times it feels like I bought a PS5 to boost my plat count.....so totally worth it ;)

Glad you pulled through Rob. Sounds like we landed in almost the exact same place with our feelings on the game. What level were you when you finished btw? I ask because I felt completely under-leveled for the last several hours of play. I finished level 28 with a level 9 dread as my primary. I probably advanced 5 levels on Recompile and the final battle though.

I think I was level 26 or 27. And I had one weapon at level 9 - quite early on but could never get it to max level. Yes for the final 2-3 missions I felt completely under levelled. Everything was a real grind and the enemy, even between boss fights, were killing me often. If it wasn’t for Overclocked I wouldn’t have completed the game - absolutely no chance. The mini gun made a massive difference too especially fending off the relentless hoards. I see less than 2% of players have completed the campaign. This game definitely has some big difficulty issues in the final third. Unless Overclocked is in the game by design - the health regeneration part of it and is not a bug - to make it possible.
BTW - I died 55 times. You can find out from the achievement Suicidal. The game took me 16.5 hours to complete. So that’s a death every 18 minutes which is a lot but less than it seemed.
I uh...got the Suicidal achievement. There were a lot of reasons, the main being having to restart the game after reaching level 17 initially ; ) I guess we are quite the dedicated gamers, congrats to us! I recommend going back after some patches to explore the Scrapland area. I'm not sure how many rewards there are like this in the game, but a quest there got me "The Decapitator" which shoots giant ricocheting saw blades that one shot whatever they come in contact with. Yea I think I was a bit more dedicated than I would be normally to such a frustrating game. I could have done with The Decapitator already lol. I may return to it at some point to play the side missions - defo after a patch - but for now definitely need a break. I noticed I’ve not got the achievement for visiting all areas so I’d like to see what I haven’t seen yet.
Have to say The Ascent sounds interesting. Is it for the basic Xbone as well as the Series X or whatever it's called?Probably going to pick up Hades and hope it keeps my interest more than the rest of the games I've tried to get stuck into these past few days

Started another bit of BL3 DLC last night after bottling Wolfenstein challenge maps. Only played a little bit as it was getting late but looks really good. It's western themed which I really like. Just need to find a good Jakobs revolver to fit in.
Deckard - You may want to consult Digital Foundry or something to see how The Ascent runs on a base XBone. I played on the the One X, and seem to have experienced many more issues than Rob.
Quite like Hades. Wasn't too sure about it to begin with, thought it would be one of those games that I'd enjoy for a while but eventually lose patience with. But no, spent the majority of the weekend playing it and have managed to clear it 10 times now and saw the end credits (sounds a lot, but after a while you can fly though one in about 30 minutes). Just need to do the epilogue now, though I'm going to be well short trophy wise (haven't 100% committed to a plat attempt as yet but quite happy sticking with it for a while yet).Also pretty happy with the Diablo 2 beta. I was worried they'd Diablo 3 it, but no, gameplay wise it's not been messed about with (didn't play that much but it seemed pretty much identical to the original). Not exactly an oil painting and I think they must have spent half their budget solely on the opening movie, but I'm not bothered as I'll just be happy playing it again. Personally really looking forward to it but I wonder how gamers who didn't play the original will view it
I've been playing some Borderlands 3 DLC again over the weekend. Finished the main quest line in Blood and Lies but one of the side missions seems to have glitches rendering the remaining trophies unobtainable. I'm supposed to follow an NPC to a certain point but when we get there he doesn't do anything.
Will try something tonight but if that doesn't work will have to bin it off. Shame as I was enjoying it.

I'm liking Hades and thought Bastion wasn't bad and saw that two games by the same developer are only a couple of quid at the minute - anyone know if either Transistor or Pyre worth a go?
As far as I know there's a free starter version of Hitman 3. I think it's basically the tutorial level but it would give you a good idea if it's for you or not.
