DeckardCain's Sandals (deckardcainssandals) | 2105 comments Making decent progress in Fallout 4, in terms of the map anyway. Had thought about making a start on the story but 2 minutes later was heading off in the other direction. Still enjoying replaying it

DeckardCain's Sandals (deckardcainssandals) | 2105 comments Oh I'm very pissed off now...Fallout 4, the game crashes...fine, not a big deal... Then a notification comes up I've never seen before - your saved data was removed due to corruption?

DeckardCain's Sandals (deckardcainssandals) | 2105 comments Not as bad as I'd feared. The consoles saved data for Fallout 4 is all buggered but the cloud save seems to be OK. Sets me back a couple of hours, but could be worse. Worried it'll happen again though

Equinox80 | 666 comments It looks like Bethesda's Q&A team have done a grand job as usual.

I've made decent progress on Hot Wheels 2 and got more into it. I'm onto the 5th and final area of the main campaign and got the win a race hard difficulty trophy (which presents a genuine challenge) done yesterday. Should finish this over the weekend, if not before.

Which console are you playing it on?

DeckardCain's Sandals (deckardcainssandals) | 2105 comments PS5, might take a break from it though. Don't expect them to fix any issues (more likely to patch more in!) but lost a bit of enthusiasm now

DeckardCain's Sandals (deckardcainssandals) | 2105 comments Think the BoS questline might be bugged for me as well...all they are doing is regurgitating the infinite repeat quests. Can't remember if doing the Minutemen questline locks you out of it, so could be my own fault. When it rains, it pours....lol maybe a bit melodramatic

DeckardCain's Sandals (deckardcainssandals) | 2105 comments Progressed the Minutemen questline too far...motivation to continue gone....

message 3809: by Equinox80 (new)

Equinox80 | 666 comments Don't fallout with Fallout mate ;)

More Hot Wheels for me last night. 75% done of the 5th area done so hopefully can more or less finish it over the next few days.

I'm remember getting the total drift distance trophy on the PS5 version was quite a grind. The PS4 trophy list doesn't track progress either so will be a little worse this time round.

DeckardCain's Sandals (deckardcainssandals) | 2105 comments I've stuck with it as I thought I'd have more than enough gathered together for the settlement happiness trophy, but it just won't budge from 98%.

message 3811: by Equinox80 (new)

Equinox80 | 666 comments Have you read up on that trophy? It's years since I did it but it seemed to revolve around building a ridiculous amount of the same thing(s) to push it up to 100%

DeckardCain's Sandals (deckardcainssandals) | 2105 comments I've briefly read a couple of different ways of doing it, going to have to try the other way I think, because it does seem to be stuck

DeckardCain's Sandals (deckardcainssandals) | 2105 comments And I've not locked myself out of the faction questlines...yet. Hadn't progressed the main story enough for them to continue. I know there comes a point in all of them that you can't continue with the others, might have to read up again where it's safe to go up to.

message 3814: by Equinox80 (new)

Equinox80 | 666 comments Yeah from memory you need to make two save files to get the different endings.

DeckardCain's Sandals (deckardcainssandals) | 2105 comments Yeah, i don't remember them being too much of a hassle first time around, got the trophies on ps4 fine. Main reason I'd not platted it was couldn't be arsed with the settlement trophy. The other ps4 trophies I'd not got (all bobbleheads, max companion affinity) I've got this time around, so if I can find an easy way to get the settlement one I'll likely go back to the ps4 version to knock that one out as well....
...queue major Bethesda glitch/bug ;)

DeckardCain's Sandals (deckardcainssandals) | 2105 comments Finally got the benevolent leader trophy. For some reason, none of the guides I found worked for me, had to tweak them to get it to 100%. As long as I don't mess up the save points now, there's nothing to stop me from pinging the ps5 version

message 3817: by Equinox80 (new)

Equinox80 | 666 comments Fingers crossed but sounds like when not if now.

I've done most things on Hot Wheels 2 now but the 100 podium finishes isn't unlocking when it should. My stats show I've done 120 races now and I've won nearly all of those, even half the online races I did.

The other stats menu for each class of car though suggests I've only got 91 podiums across the five classes. Hopefully that will unlock tonight by hammering the shortest race another 9 times. Don't remember it being a problem on the PS5 version.

DeckardCain's Sandals (deckardcainssandals) | 2105 comments Ping! Fallout 4 (PS5). Enjoyed replaying it overall, story still feels a bit weak and the choices they force you to make are still a bit nonsensical, but the exploration largely makes up for it. And yes, the bugs that were there day one are still there, with a few new ones ;)

DeckardCain's Sandals (deckardcainssandals) | 2105 comments Finished it up quicker than expected so now don't know whether to get stuck into the dlc or take a break and find something for a change of pace

Morning all

My football team (Sporting Lisbon) won the league last night!!
So i expect you sharks to come and take away our best players and probably our coach. :P

Gamingwise i took a chance on Dead Space Remake and so far i have mixed feelings.
Visually it looks stunning for sure. The sound design is top notch but what i played so far is the same game i played many times before. I also find the game too dark for my taste. I get it adds to the immersion and using the flashlight is mandatory but it also makes the layout a bit confusing cause i cant see shite.
I dont know...i´ll keep playing as probably im yet to encounter the good changes of the remake.

I´m also been replaying Dead Island on the X and i say this again. Its a hell of a game. Been having a blast.

DeckardCain's Sandals (deckardcainssandals) | 2105 comments I'm very confused by the PS4 Fallout 4. I thought the problems were only with the PS+ version and were mostly dlc related? I installed the non "free" version and downloaded my saves from the cloud but nope, the game doesn't recognise them and no other choice but to start from scratch. Don't think I'll bother, not sure I want to go though half of it all over again so soon

DeckardCain's Sandals (deckardcainssandals) | 2105 comments And that's blasphemy Glass. Dead Space is always worth a replay, no matter how many times you've been though it ;)

haha. Dont get me wrong. I love Dead Space but ive played it 4 times before and i couldnt shake the feeling that i was doing the same thing.
But im very early on though. Im still fixing the tram so a lot is about to happen.

message 3824: by Equinox80 (new)

Equinox80 | 666 comments I was hoping they'd sorted the save file thing for the PS4 version of Fallout 4 but doesn't sound like it. I paid £12 for the DLC but can't play it (unless I start a new game which I don't want to do).

message 3825: by Equinox80 (new)

Equinox80 | 666 comments Congrats to Sporting Glass. My team survived relegation on the final day after only getting 3 points from the first 13 games of the season (the worst start of any team ever in that league).

This is the same team that over turned a 4-0 defeat in the first leg of last seasons play offs.

They push their fans to the limit but keep coming back from the dead.

DeckardCain's Sandals (deckardcainssandals) | 2105 comments Yeah, the console says I've Fallout 4 saved games from years ago installed, but the games says nope, new game or nothing. Looks like it's created a new save game file on the console instead of reading what's already there

Glassmoon - The Benny Hill of Plats | 779 comments Mod
Jesus.
Im glad i havent updated F4 yet as i was afraid it would break all the mods i have currently installed (Series X).
Seems like its currently a mess.

Its not a new game. How hard could it be to properly test the update BEFORE releasing it?
I think Bethesda lost it along the way.

message 3828: by Equinox80 (new)

Equinox80 | 666 comments One more trophy left on Hot Wheels 2 but the grind is ridiculous. I'm sure my progress counters reset at some point.

Last trophy is for drifting 500,000 cms and having done everything else, I'm currently at 403,000 meaning I'm going to have to approx 60 odd more races.

This was a grind on the PS5 version but seems worse this time round for some reason.

DeckardCain's Sandals (deckardcainssandals) | 2105 comments You managed to drive around the world in a certain other game, what's a few more corners ;)

message 3830: by Equinox80 (new)

Equinox80 | 666 comments True, what's 97000cm aside 24900 miles haha.

Might read up on it, see if there's a good track to use.

DeckardCain's Sandals (deckardcainssandals) | 2105 comments And unexpected Ping! Cities Skylines (PS5). Platted the PS4 version a couple of weeks ago, and only had one trophy left on the PS5 but it popped a lot sooner than expected. I'll not complain.

Played a little of Cyube VR. It's not far off Minecraft in VR (not that I've played Minecraft enough to judge). Tutorials could be a bit better explained and occasionally a bit fiddly, but pretty addictive. I'll mess about in it till I decide what's next.

Thinking maybe giving Doom Eternal another chance. Had a blast in the reboot when it was out, but just couldn't get into Eternal, felt a bit too much of the same....which is a bit of a daft thing to say about Doom ;)

message 3832: by Error (new)

Error | 408 comments Started up Jedi: Survivor this weekend after being reminded that May 4th is a Star Wars holiday. It sure is a highly polished game. I'm enjoying so far. Respawn does do a good job of nailing that Star Wars "feel" in these games. I'll get through the story but probably won't stick around for any of the extras, since it seems exactly like the first game with hundreds of basically meaningless collectibles.

DeckardCain's Sandals (deckardcainssandals) | 2105 comments Variety of poncho colours meaningless!!!! Take that back Error ;)

I'll have to go back to Survivor at some point but it was definitely a criticism I had of Jedi Fallen Over. You just don't get rewarded for exploring

DeckardCain's Sandals (deckardcainssandals) | 2105 comments 5 minutes of Doom Eternal and I'm exhausted ;) The search continues....maybe another Dead Space replay

Yep it only gets more intense. I guess it's the way Doom is supposed to be but the game is unrelenting. I vowed after Eternal not to play another Doom :-).

The only thing I really cared about in the first game was changing the color of my light saber. You can do that right from the start here, so there's very little drawing me to explore. There are dozens of boxes just in the linear path anyway. Story is entertaining though. Plus Cal Kestis can now grow facial hair; he's wearing a Rambo headband and sporting a a thick cowboy mustache for me.

Equinox80 | 666 comments I liked collecting the seeds and watching them grow in that little herbarium thing on your ship in Jedi Fallen Order. Sad but true.

Morning all.

Jedi Survivor dropped on Gamepass not long ago but i dont feel very excited to play it despite having really enjoyed Fallen Order.
Im just not feeling in the mood for punishing games at this point.
That´s why i stopped playing Elden Ring some time ago. :(

Anyway, i´ve been finding out that AA games are the one´s that really give me a good time. I´ve been playing Elex 2 (58 hrs into) and im loving how the game treats the player. Despite its numerous flaws (just like Elex 1) it also treats the player in a mature way when it comes to its rpg mechanics and im realizing that i apreciate this more then whatever graphics and shallow gameplay AAA games deliver these days.
I just get so immersed that i lose track of the times when im playing,
If anyone here likes the first Elex please try the sequel too.

Jedi Survivor is not even remotely punishing - it depends on difficulty setting but even I found it easy on the easy settings :-). And better than the first game.

Really?
I thought it would be harder then the first one.
That makes me happy. :)
I still have nightmares with that fight on some top of a tree in the first game...

Knock the difficulty down and it'll be a breeze. I can't play frustrating games anymore :-). There are a couple of parkour sections that might take a few attempts but combat is mostly pretty straightfoward on easy.

Yeah, I´ll do that.
I cant take very hard games too these days.
I was loving Elden Ring at some point but the feeling of going back to it every night was stressing me out.
Dont even know how i handled the final boss fights in Resi 3 Remake so well...

Equinox80 | 666 comments Is the map any better in Survivor? That's probably my main issue with Fallen Order. That and the lack of fast travel.

Ping! - Hot Wheels Unleashed 2

Found a quick way to grind the last drift trophy out.

Honestly I do like the look of the From Software games but unfortunately I know due to difficulty they are not for me. They look really good though. I recently played a long frustrating Codex (single player mission) on Warframe so I could unlock some stuff for the multiplayer (to use with mates) and although it was well done the frustration ruined it for me.

DeckardCain's Sandals (deckardcainssandals) | 2105 comments Meanwhile I've strained my arm swinging a virtual pickaxe too much in Cyube VR yesterday ;)

Also played a wee bit more of Lords of the Fallen and think it might keep me going for a bit, with some interestingly sounding modifiers. Though it does have me wanting to go back to the original a little

DeckardCain's Sandals (deckardcainssandals) | 2105 comments I remember someone on the old forum always saying that the average From Software game is no more difficult than a Call of Duty. There are definitely exceptions, but I'd largely agree. And personally, I'd take a tough but predictable boss that you can learn how to beat, over the artificial difficulty of avoiding a million spammed grenades over and over every day of the week ;)

That said, Elden Ring is the only proper From game I've managed to finish (though I do seem to do OK with other soulslikes). Could more than likely manage Dark Souls 1-3, Bloodborne & Demon Souls with a bit of patience/determination but Sekiro and Armored Core (to a slightly lesser extent) are well beyond me. Elden Ring was probably the most relaxing of the lot

Probably the key word for me is patience.
Its something im lacking these days and puts me off when i know that i need to find the pattern to kill some boss or to advance a certain section.

Yeah, it's better. I've stumbled across a few obtuse sections where I just didn't know what to do/where to go, but far less that Fallen Order. I agree. That was the worst part of that game for sure. Survivor I found relatively easy to just play along the main campaign path without much frustration. There are five difficulty settings and the default is right in the middle. Dropping one notch would make combat trivial, methinks. I've died once to the second boss (before I figured out block/parry) and once falling down a hole too many times because I couldn't figure out the parkour path.

DeckardCain's Sandals (deckardcainssandals) | 2105 comments I'm laughably easily influenced ;) Just sent Bloodborne, Dark Souls and the first Lords of the Fallen to download. And was trying to hold off on soulslikes with Shadow of the Erdtree around the corner....

I dabbled with one of the Dark Souls games, (i think it was Dark Souls 2) and it just was not for me. I got as far as undead berg - so hardly much into the game at all, and it wasn't the actual difficulty of the game that put me off because that wasn't too bad, and the combat was great, graphics, atmosphere, all good.

It's the lack of checkpoints, and the loss of all resources when you die (which I know you can get back if you make it back to where you died previously)...but yeah, it was just the punishing systems in the game which totally put me off.

And I know those systems are basically the whole idea so I must be the type of gamer who likes regular checkpoints and auto-reloading to just before where you died, as if nothing happened and just have another go with no consequences no matter how many times you die.
