Haha, decided pretty early on not to attempt the Immortals of Aveum plat. Main issue is open all golden chests. There's 120 of the and most of them seem to be locked behind timed puzzles that I don't have the patience to try half a dozen times each. That and complete on immortal difficulty, though depending on how they've gone about NG+ it might not be too bad, might have to read up on it if I've not many trophies left at the end

I've read immortal difficulty isn't too bad but there are approx 7 missable trophies relating to the various collectibles. There's no chapter select so if you Miss something, it's missed. Only starting a new game or play NG+ to that point will work.
I'd thought about playing first on immortal difficulty and then another run with a guide for everything else.
Pretty sure I've missed half the conversation related trophies at this point, so think I'll just plough through the story for now
Yeah, think I'm gonna give up on Immortals of Aveum for now and play it when I'm more in the mood. It is decent when you get into it, but all it took was one slightly annoying level and I'm done for now. Thinking about either replaying the first Dragons Dogma, Dragon Quest XI or finally start playing Mafia, which I forgot I'd picked up a long time ago

I need to get back to it, but health potions are limited and when you have to replay an area, there aren't any chests to open so I wasn't able to replenish them unless one dropped in battle. If I could have crafted some or bought some, that would have helped.
Even early on in Aveum, I thought that the enemies took a little too much off your life bar for my liking, especially when the magic shield is pretty much broke in one melee attack and the dodge is next to useless
You guys are putting me off Aveum. Maybe a good thing if it narrows down what to play next.
It is probably worth a play, it's not what I'm in the mood for at the minute
I liked what I played, but stopped to play something else and haven't gone back. I just remember needing more health potions for a few battles but did eventually get through them.
I think I might save IoA until after I've hit 250 plats. Whilst I'm not making any gaming progress at the moment, I've got a 'route' planned to start rattling them off ASAP as its weighing on me now and I should be there already.Once done, I'll relax a bit and play a few games like IoA to see what they're like.
I think I might be massively overthinking this.
After hitting 250 at the beginning of January, I think I've relaxed a bit too much plat wise ;) Only added three to the total since then, and nothing on the horizon. Plenty I could be pinging but the motivation has dropped a fair bit (at the minute anyway)

Haha, I think I'll be like this for a while. I mean, I've just reinstalled Metal Gear Survive for some grilled gerbils or was it hedgehogs...maybe both. Tasty espionage action ;) ... without the espionage
Probably not something you hear every Monday morning but I spent a fair chunk of the weekend replaying Metal Gear Survive. Enjoying it as much as the first time, one of those weirdly addictive games
I always fancied trying that but put off by the hate it seemed to get.I spent my gaming time this weekend on my Vita playing a game I last played exactly 7 years (almost to the day) and didn't care much for at the time. Severed.
I got back into it but soon realised I'd pumped my upgrade materials into the wrong things and you can't respec. It made some fights really, really difficult but have managed to progress a little bit and have upgraded a few more important things. I'm not sure if I'll stick with it to the end but I might dabble when I can't get on my PS5.
I think part of the hate Metal Gear Survive got was due to it being released at the height of the anti-Konami feeling. From my memory (so likely way off) Kojima had announced he was leaving, lots of reports of the poor treatment of Konami employees and their announcement that they were going to focus on pachinko. Not sure any game would review well after that.
Yeah there was that and it not being like a 'proper' MGS game. I'm not the biggest fan of MGS so that didn't bother me.I'm pretty sure Konami added extra lives as paid DLC or something too which probably helped put a downer on it (kind of understandable).
Ah yeah, forgot about that one. It wasn't extra lives they were charging for, it was basically an extra save slot. If you want to start a new game, you have to delete your old one and they were daftly trying to charge for more. Think I remember saying at the time, it's not the type of game you need multiple profiles, you aren't likely to be doing anything different on the second one. There's also some other needless microtransactions in there but nothing game breaking
Ah yeah, that was it. A bit on the side of much ado about nothing. If I see it in a sale I might pick it up one day. I like the base defence aspect of it.
Got to the end credits of Metal Gear Survive again and had a blast replaying. I'll keep it installed for a bit and mess about every now and then. No idea what's next, tempted to continue the Metal Gear mood and replay MGSV
The PS+ Extra/Premium games announcement was a bit of a washout yesterday. For me at least anyway.Still, it has been fairly good of late so shouldn't moan too much at one dud month.
I'm only subbed to the basic PS+, so don't pay too much attention to those but did notice The Crew 2 was on there, and since I fancy a bit of driving, might reinstall that for a bit. It'll save me from jumping around games for a bit at least
I don't think I'll try The Crew 2. I got Motorfest for Christmas which is meant to be the best one but couldn't get on with it at all so doubt I'll like 2.
Anyone watching that Fallout TV show. I'm struggling to game atm so having just finished watching Reacher (not bad), I think I'll start this tonight.
Haven't been playing anything during the work weeks, but I should finish out Dragon's Dogma 2 this weekend. I've really enjoyed it and it's nice to see it being successful.
Not sure I'm in the mood for The Crew 2 now. Near binned it off immediately because it won't let you start a new game (saved games are stored solely on the server and no option in game). Had a few races though and was enjoying it fine, but it's not quite scratching the itch. So back on the hunt for something else
I think I'm gonna have to give Baldurs Gate 3 another go. From what I played, I thought it was alright, nothing special, and nowt really stood out. I usually like the type of game but lost interest relatively early on. Could be a case of wrong game at wrong time, but there have been others in the genre I've clicked with easier, so it's a bit of one of those "highly acclaimed" headscratchers for me
Changed my mind about getting back into Baldies Goat 3, get the feeling it's not gonna click at the minute.What was the score on the ba(R)ometer for Atomic Heart? Then again I reckon that gauge gets stuck sometimes and needs a bit of a whack ;) I'd prefer it if it was a bit cheaper than £30 but I'm tempted as naught else is arising
And speaking of Fallout, I don't love you anymore...erm I mean I see Fallout 4 is getting a PS5 upgrade later in the month ;)

I’m half way through Fallout on Amazon Prime and they’ve really done it justice. Best game to TV series adaptation I’ve seen. They’ve absolutely nailed the Fallout feel, world and atmosphere. Actually pretty gory too. Makes me realize how mediocre the TLOU series is in comparison which I enjoyed but the TV series lacked a lot and the story felt rushed.
I'm about half through the Fallout series too and my thoughts echo yours pretty much.I wish I'd played Fallout 3 and New Vegas back in the day as my only comparison to the actual games is with Fallout 4 which I understand wasn't the best. Oh and Fallout Shelter which I really enjoyed.
Does this Fallout 4 PS5 upgrade mean there's now a PS5 version and trophy list? Or is it just that the PS4 version runs better on a PS5 now? I never did any of the DLC and the TV series is making me want to jump back into that world.

It's not available until the 25th I think. Not sure on the details, not even heard thats its free. At worst it could be a Skyrim Anniversary edition type and make you pay full price all over. The upgrade was mentioned probably well over a year ago, it's only just got a release date.Might have to re-sub to Prime, to watch the show (it's on prime right?)
Seems to be free....hopefully. I'll replay it anyway, I've one or two trophies left on the PS4 version

Predictable as I am, I picked up Atomic Heart, and even more predictably, got stuck into something else while it was downloading and didn't want to get stuck into it yet. Did give it a try though, and mostly good, though the main character is a little annoying.
Pretty much guaranteed to be on PS+ by the time I get stuck into it properly
I finished Fallout (TV show) last night. Good stuff and I'll look our for the FO4 DLC in a sale and go and clean that up with the PS5 upgrade. I don't think its a PS5 version etc with a new trophy but I'm kind of glad.Still plugging away at Severed and whilst I keep hitting difficulty spikes, I've made steady progress. Must be at least 3/4 of the way through now.
Was messing about in Metal Gear Survive there at lunch and unlocked the recipe for....you've guessed....hedgehog tacos. That'll go well with the gerbil milk soup ;)

I played more Severed last night but hit another difficulty spike. Have read something useful I might be able to do tonight to get past the bit I'm stuck on. Fingers crossed. The game is meant to be quite easy and plat rarity is a high 20%. I'm finding it really challenging at times though which is a bit worrying.
Not really been in the mood to start anything the past few days, so just been messing about in Metal Gear Survive and Deep Sky Derelicts. Waiting for something to tickle my fancy but nothing is really doing it at the moment

Picked up Dave the Diver for a change of pace, and it's OK, nowt special, but it'll keep me going a few hours at least.
I haven't done any gaming again for a few nights. I know the next thing I have to do on Severed is difficult and always feel too tired to try it. Don't fancy starting anything new so I just play nothing. Hopefully will get some time this week.
I'm thinking of knocking out a few grubby plats out to try and get going again.
I was tempted to do the same thing the past week or so, but couldn't find anything that I'd consider grubby
