Hi everyone
Hope you´re doing great.
Been very absent from here due to work and basic tiredness...
Finished Hogwarts Legacy (79hrs) and really enjoyed that one.
I still had pleny of sidequests and some map locations to discover but i felt it was time to move on.
Its a very very solid 8/10.
Im now playing both Resi 3 Remake and Persona 5 but im at the very beginning on both.
Resi is...Resi...it feels like RE 2 remake which im ok with.
Persona 5 is...weird? I 4 hrs into and i still dont know what im playing. lol.

Hi everyone
Been having a huge headache because of my bedroom LG tv.
I put in my head that i need a new Oled tv and i started having issues with the picture blacks.
If i put the backlight all the way up the blacks become grey. It i put it where the greys become blacks again the picture becomes way to dark.
I have both the tv and PS5 on limited so its not a range mismatch issue.
I´ve been messing with RE 3 Remake for the last 3 days trying to put the image ok but its either way too dark or washed up blacks.
Either there´s a problem with the TV or its its showing its age. :(
I have another 55´TV (Samsung) where the image is way better with the exact same game. Everything is brighter but not washed up. Both are in game modes too so probably the Samsung is a better tv?
Anyone ever had this issues?

If it’s an old or cheap LCD TV with very little or no local dimming the picture can look a bit washed out. If it’s in HDR try calibrating the HDR on the PS5. Also try adjusting the contrast on the TV. My old LG looked terrible in game mode but it always looked bad. My gaming TV now is a Samsung LED with hundreds of dimming zones and a very high nit brightness in HDR so generally looks good for an LCD. OLED can have very dark pictures especially in bright rooms unless you get one of the new OLEDs which can get very bright but normally they are very expensive. And the higher OLED screen brightness panels are normally only found on the bigger screen sizes.
Hi Rob
I have a 55´ LG LCD but i cant remember the model.
It has 5 or 6 years and i think it was midrange when i bought it.
I calibrated the HDR on the PS5 a dozen times, believe me. I messed with the tv settings many times also.
I dont know, it just looks off to me.

Has the picture got worse recently or has it always been bad? If is 5-6 years old it probably has no dimming zones or has edge lighting which are both bad for washed out blacks.

I think so. I dont remember the blacks being so washed up before.
I need to turn down backlight to 45 in order to get normal blacks in games.
But if i do that, i think the overall picture is way too dark. Like, in Resi 3 remake, i cant see any details in a darker zone but if i turn backlight up, i can see the details but everything becomes greyish.

Gonna be a 200hr game for me.

I had a browse through the new PS store spring sale but not much inspiration there. I'm pinning my hopes on the PS+ games announcement later. Probably a foolish move.

The season pass wasn't as cheap as I'd hoped for and there's only been one of three expansions drop so far but I'm keen to go back to the game.

Elemental War 2 is on sale. It doesn't look like you've played that one yet ;)
Is the first game any good?

Overall mixed feelings about it. Definitely an upgrade on the first game, at times loved it, but its not without its irritations and has its fair share of frustrations.
Took a week off work last week and didn’t game much except for starting Terminator Resistance Enhanced over the Easter weekend. I must be about half way through the campaign. So far absolutely loving it. Really nails Terminator and I love the open environments and the exploration albeit limited to small areas. Actually enjoying this game more than Robocop. The graphics are better too 4k 60fps just because they’ve not gone for effects over resolution. Some hairy moments too where Terminators have snook up on me unexpectedly. For a AA game it’s brilliant. And even the platinum trophy looks on assuming Infiltrator mode is good and not rock hard. So far a solid 8-9/10.

Would have got stuck into Planet Zoo, seemed pretty decent but.... they've locked one of the game modes behind a " sign up to a Frontier account" and that's put me off playing it completely. Think I'd enjoy it otherwise but just don't see their need for that.
So I'm now on the hunt for something that'll keep me going for more than five minutes...

I'm struggling to get on my PS5 at a decent time atm as the TV is being used for other purposes. In the short term I've charged my Vita but I'm giving serious though to investing in one of those PS Portals.
Speaking of which, I spent an hour creating my pawn over the weekend. I'm all set for release. Should be a good time.
Been bouncing around in the meanwhile...Brotato, Forza, Fight Night
