What have you been playing: before the forum was deleted?
Actually The Entropy Centre looks very plattable and I did consider it but no I'm not getting drawn in again :-). There are I think 76 collectables and if I don't find them naturally through enjoying the game even if I'm one trophy off the plat I'm not playing through the entire game again for a collectable.

There was a recap in the demo to watch so I would think there was one in the game. I was surprised how much I forgot.

And had a £20 wallet boost from playstation stars after picking up Rebirth, so picked up AC Mirage for £6.99...no idea when I'll get around to playing that one, mid 2028 I reckon

I'm in between lots of stuff - some Forza, bit of Diablo, some Hotline Miami. Most recently I re-downloaded Dragon's Dogma and did some Bitterblack Isle runs. That game is absolutely one of my all-time favorites, and I'm really excited for the sequel due out later this month.

Made a start on FF7 Rebirth and mostly like but a few mixed feelings. Does a lot of things right but have a feeling the boss fights will become a chore at some point and not a big fan of the combat in general. It does the job and there's worse out there but it's a not quite for me. Also have a bad feeling they'll veer too far away from the original story. But finished Chapter 2 and it's mostly good stuff

Fun game with solid enough performance etc. but really feels and looks like a ps4 game imo. I was actually more impressed technically and everything with AC Origins which runs great on ps5 with the 60fps patch. Really looking forward to getting stuck into Odyssey at some point.
Anyway, after Mirage (which itself followed 100+ hours of Horizon FW) I want something more linear. Thinking Evil West (which I have installed and ready to go).

I'm about two-thirds of my way through The Entropy Centre. Good Portal 2 style environmental puzzle game. Some of the puzzles have been slightly head scratching but nothing too bad so far. And they really mix up the mechanics of the puzzles so they can be really expansive large rooms with a lot of verticality. The only thing I don't like is about half-way through the game they intoduce bots that want to kill you - not for every puzzle, only a few so far - and they literally lock on and make a bee-line for you and once you've killed them more spawn in their place - all while trying to solve a puzzle. Takes it from a chill puzzle game to slightly annoying at times.

Some nice nostalgic nods the first film (one of my favs). Will hopefully have it finished tonight or at least this weekend as I've seen all it has to offer. Well, I'd done that after the first hour or so haha.
Not sure what's next. Have a few indie games ready but not sure I'm in the mood for them. Tempted to download the latest NFS (Underground?) whilst the online is still active for those trophies. Slightly apprehensive though as I hated NFS Heat so much I genuinely considered giving up gaming as a hobby.

What did you think of Robocop?
Me. Just been plugging away at The Entropy Centre - still got 5 more missions to go and it's definitely getting trickier. Got to say though in recent weeks probably even for Evil West and even Alan Wake 2 I've lost my gaming mojo a bit.

After the first couple of missions you've pretty much seen it all but it was still fun walking round as Robocop and the devs obviously love the source material.
One addition that would have been great and feels a bit like a glaring omission, would be the ability to tag multiple enemies with Robo's aim targeting and then link a load of kills together. In the first film where he busts the coke factory, he uses his targeting to make a note of where everyone is and then picks them off one after another. It could have been done in a similar way to deadeye in RDR where you mark multiple targets and then press fire.
Yea it's nothing special but it was good fun AA game. It did get a bit samey after a while and that mechanic you describe would have worked in the game well. I think my next game - although I think The Entropy Centre I'll finish off slowly - will be Terminator Resistance but this time I'll skip the plat even though it looks easy.

It makes you play the game slightly outside of what you'd otherwise want to do so if you're not too bothered by plats, it's probably not worth it.

I was thinking of the RoboCop plat, seems doable, but then had a go at the shooting range, where you have to score at least 250, and I barely scraped 100! Is that particular challenge one that gets easier with upgrades?

Yea there’s upgrades via the circuit diagrams to have larger magazine capacities etc and even an upgrade where you don’t have to reload. It’s pretty easy when you’ve upgraded your weapon several missions in. I got over 400 and I’m far from a skillful gamer. You revisit the police station many times so go back after you get some more circuit boards (or whatever they’re called).
I think the toughest trophy is ‘There can be only one’. I did it first time but only just and I was well prepared for it. Ultimately pretty straightforward and you can repeat it by going back to the checkpoint or repeating the level.

I failed 'There can be only one' first time. I reloaded a save for what I thought was the first wave but turned out to be the last (apparently it saves after each wave). Thankfully after doing that last wave again, it unlocked. I think it's a bit of a glitch or bug but a good one.
Talking of making things difficult for myself, I started Swamp Defense 2. A budget tower defense game. I'm usually OK at these but was really struggling after about 12 levels last night. Thankfully this morning I've realised you can permanently increase starting the stats of towers, ie more damage, range etc. I spent my money just unlocking new towers to see what they can so will need to grind some cash replaying early levels. I may even delete my save my file and just start again actually. It's pretty addictive and I was up until past 3am. Feel like sheet today haha.
Ah yes Focus is what I used. Made it easier for me too. Although I think I did increase my weapon magazine size as well - my memory of it is starting to fade a little but ultimately easy to get later on in the game.

I also noticed that Capcom released the character creator for Dragon's Dogma 2 ahead of time, so I downloaded that and created my main character. They will import into the game on release day. I just though this is a fantastic feature so people playing on release won't have to spend the first few hours with the game fumbling through menus.

I'm back up and running on Swamp Defense 2 having almost fully upgraded the basic tower. I can't believe how much longer and more grindy I've made this for myself but should gain a bit of momentum now.

Might have to have another look at Swamp Defence 2 myself. I think I own it but gave up on it, maybe I didn't realise you could permanently upgrade the towers either

Now what....

I'm grinding the 100 wave bonus level as you get over 1000 coins each time. I'm able to do it on x4 speed so doesn't take too long.
I think once 3 or 4 towers are fully upgraded it should be fairly plain sailing. I've upgraded the basic turret and electro turret so next going to do the rockets as they do a lot of splash damage and with the range upgraded, they'll be pretty unstoppable.

That music is stuck in my head as well.

I've always groaned a bit internally when reading the words 'live service games' but Helldivers 2 has shown they can be great and not just disgusting cash grabs. I think that game has done so well, it's re-written the rules of the live service space and possibly the games industry as a whole. Obviously, as I bought HD2 on day one, I've played a huge part in saving the games industry ;)
I thought EA releasing Dead Space remake was a good move although not sure how well it sold. EA have also published a few gems including It Takes Two, A Way Out and Unravel so they're not all about the live service.
Surely there are enough live services failures like Suicide Squad to deter the likes of EA doubling down on them?

I'm currently upgrading the adhesive (slowdown) tower as it's cheap but can really make a difference.
Next I'll probably concentrate on the nail gun, long range big bertha one.
I'm not sure if I'll unlock anymore tower varieties with the possible exception of the farting fire tower as the damage over time looks useful.

Regretting starting a 300 wave bonus level at the minute, built on every square around the 100 mark, now I'm getting impatient at having nothing to do ;)
Morning all. Finally completed The Entropy Centre. A good game overall. In the last four missions or so there was a lot of traversel through a high tech facility (without puzzle rooms) that was really good, atmospheric and a nice break from the back to back puzzles. Defo a game for Portal 1, 2 fans. 7/10 on the r-score-o-meter. Oh and as I thought only one trophy from the Platinum. I think there are 70+ collectibles and I got all but a handful (without following a guide) however you can only collect to 100% in a complete play through even though there is a chapter select - so I'm not repeating the entire game.
Next I guess it's probably Terminator Resistance but I may have to complete some Warframe Codexes first to keep my gaming buddies happy - which I'm not looking forward to as I've read they are hard.

There was another jump in difficulty at level 49 (of 54) which slowed my progress. Thankfully the five levels after that were all straight forward. Not sure what's next for me. Maybe Bugsnax.

Now trying to find something to keep me going till Friday, when I'll likely be pulling my hair out trying to decide between Dragons Dogma 2 and Rise of the Ronin
After dispensing managed democracy through the barrel of a gun in Helldivers 2, its time to do the same for justice.
