What have you been playing: before the forum was deleted?
I'll likely regret saying this but...for a day one console with such heavy usage, it's held up pretty well. Controllers a bit less so
I got that trophy on Remnant 2 that I thought had glitched the other day. I'd not given too much thought to the trophies when I started playing it but I only need 4 for the plat now and only one of those could potentially be a problem (and definitely a long grind).
Double Ping! Dredge PS4 & Dredge PS5. Not sure why I picked it up as I tend to hate fishing in games but enjoyed it as a change of pace.Not sure what's next. Feel like something meatier is on the cards

I knew I'd regret saying it but the curse of the dodgy controller looks like it's struck again. Was tempted to get stuck into the PS4 Elden Ring plat attempt but figured it might be a bit tough when you can't turn right ;) It did something similar a while back and somehow fixed itself so hopefully it'll do the same this time. Have to play something a bit less actiony in the meantime
Or maybe it's a good opportunity to play some more VR...Played a bit more RE4 VR at the weekend and almost blew myself up with grenades a few times, other than that it really is what you'd want from a VR Resi
I'm enjoying Horizon Forbidden West so much. I absolutely loved Zero Dawn and earned the plat over 96 hours in (I think) 2018, but I have to say/admit, Forbidden West is a lot better even though I didn't think it could be before I booted it up!All the best bits from Zero Dawn are pretty much unchanged - Aloy, the combat, traversal, awesome machines, incredible presentation, focus function, very useable menu...
And then everything that wasn't quite there has been brought up to a much better standard. All the folks Aloy interacts with are acted and animated so much better - and I'm not talking the difference in graphics between ps4 and ps5 because some of the characters in Zero Dawn were perfect - obviously Aloy herself, but also Rost, Talanah, Erend. But then alot of the quest givers and especially side-quest givers were like waxwork models with moving lips - and had the personality to match lol. But in Forbidden West literally everybody is fleshed out and acted so much better.
The story is also much easier to follow - but not because it's simpler, but because it's much better written.
Just a fantastic game!! and completely gorgeous of course.

Avatar was one I dismissed immediately as I've no interest in the source material...but with the Far Cry(ish) comparisons I'd be tempted when it's a lot cheaper

Yea the graphics are pretty amazing. Sometimes it looks a bit soft with the resolution but on the whole it’s one of the most visually impressive games I’ve seen. Plays much like any other open world you’ve seen before so don’t expect anything different in that sense. For me it looks better than any other game with the abundance and the motion in the wind effect on vegetation - best vegetation animation I’ve seen 🤣.

Yea I preferred Forbidden West much more than the first game. After the first game I thought I had my fill of Horizon as I found the game tedious. The sequel though is much more focused and far less tedious.
I was the same with Avatar as in no interest in the source material but the game does look very good. Visually, especially so.More Remnant 2 last night and I picked up the last thing I needed to be able craft a secret Archetype item, which in turn I'll need to switch to and then level up to level 10. Archetypes are the different classes and you need to level most, if not all of the secret ones to level 10. If it's something I was aware of sooner I'd have started working on it earlier but happy to play the game some more in coop to grind xp.
I've joined some good games and coop does add something. A bit like Borderlands in that's its great solo but also nice in coop.
I'm still on Remnant as well, working through the second world. It really is a deep and engaging game. There are lots of secrets if you have a keen eye. It will easily carry me through the holiday season into the new year. At some point I will start up Nier: Replicant since that is currently on a good sale.
In one of those "I've no idea what I'm in the mood for" moods. But instead of jumping between a dozen games, hoping one sticks, I've just went back to bullying the Godrick soldiers in Elden Ring. Can play it surprisingly alright with a dodgy controller
Get on Remnant 2 Deck and help speed up my grind to the plat ;)It's in sight but still a along way off. Although I'll see if there are any good xp farming spots.

I've went to reinstall Remnant 2 a few times recently but come to the conclusion that I'd not be able to settle on it long enough at the minute to make it worthwhile. It's definitely in the to-do list, can't see it being this year though.
Remnant 2 is definitely at the top of my list for favorite games played this year. There is just something about the fleshed out world designs -- each feels so distinct and lived in with mountains of lore if you feel like exploring it. The enemy/NPC design is very cool in my book and contributes to the world building. Just a top notch non-AAA game.
I feel a hawing coming on....one that would make even Glass blush..........is what I would say if I could find something....
I'm glad you're liking Remnant 2 as much as I am Error. I've put in over 60 hours in just over a month now. It's been years since I've put so much time into a game but I've loved every minute.I've been very fortunate in joining some really good coop sessions. Following folk round who know a lot of secrets and stuff. I got something last night that could potentially cut the plat time down too. I need one other thing but someone from a discord I'm on messaged me to say he has the relevant mission ready to go. Not sure what part of the world they're in but hopefully we can do that together.

I felt the same about the first game. Caught me by surprise and totally sucked me in for a month or more. It's very much worth playing if you haven't already.
Ping! Remnant 2I haven't played the first Error so I'm definitely going to look into it. As soon as I see the Remnant 2 DLC season pass on sale I'll pick that up for sure.
It's one of those games I feel sad about finishing so glad there's DLC available and more on the way.

I'd been tempted to replay FF7 Remake but I've got Elden Ring on the brain again. Tempted to try another magic only build as I'd watched a few videos of fairly tricky bosses being annihilated in seconds. I'll stick with my current character for now but might start one alongside to break things up

Played the prologue of Robocop....love it. Not AAA but one you just can't help smiling while playing. And it's a step up from Terminator so far
Triple Ping! Robocop Rogue City & Lord of the Click 1&2.Robocop has its flaws (like Terminator) but generally a decent play.
Lord of the Click 1, highly recommend.....highly recommend you avoid like the plague. Don't know how the plat rate is so high, it's one that you'd think the first level would be enough to put people off. Lord of the Click 2 is a lot less of a chore.
Up to 249 plats, could possibly get to 250 this current year but have Elden Ring PS4 in my head for that one, which will take a while

Yes, I hope everyone has been enjoying the holiday season. Back to work for me and 10% of my office. Should be a quiet week. I did pick up Nier: Replicant, but am still having way too much fun with Remnant to move on.

A Plague Tale: Requiem and Evil West are two of the Jan PS+ Essentials games. Absolutely amazing month.

Not so much for me...own Nobody Saves The World, got bored of the first A Plague Tale pretty quick so can't see the 2nd one being any more appealing, and picked up Evil West not that long ago...
Email from PlayStation - the next round of the January sale starts soon, don't miss out on these games before they go....or something along those lines....and here's me convinced it's still December....Anyway making progress in the PS4 Elden Ring playthrough. One shardbearer down, going to wander around for a while though before trying to progress further
It took a little while for the first A Plague Tale to draw me in but when it did, it did. The second one is supposed to be better. I've been waiting for it to be on sale so chuffed it'll be 'free'. Same with Evil West but to a lesser extent.

I don't think I can jump straight into the PS4 version so may start The Crew: Motorfest. Not sure I fancy another racer though so may scour the sale again.
Spent most of the past few days in Elden Ring. Would like to say I made good progress but, in reality, spent it mindlessly beating up the tree people in Caelid.

Yeah, Robocop is one of those that's rough around the edges (very, at times) but you can have fun with it.
Turns out, even I think 128 is a bit too high a level to be facing Rennala.
Ping! Terminator Resistance Enhanced (PS5)This has been sat on my PS5 for over a year and with talk of it lately, I thought I'd get it done. I didn't realise the PS5 version had two extra trophies relating to Infiltrator Mode so with everything else done, I blasted through that last night.
It's a nice idea playing as a terminator but it was really basic and could have been done a lot better.
Downloaded A Plague Tale: Requiem so might start that tonight.
Might have to stick on the first A Plague Tale, could be an OK change of pace. I'd not be hopeful I'd get any further than the last time I tried though, the sequel is likely to be one of those I'll add to the library but never look at
If you do try the first A Plague Tale again, just stick with it for a little while. I know it starts of a bit slowly and can see why it put you off but it really does open up and get a lot better.

I've A Plague Tale reinstalled but have a feeling that by the time I'm done with Elden Ring something else will have caught my eye. Made a bit quicker progress on it though, not surprisingly since I'm a bit overlevelled for the place I'm at
Making decent progress in Elden Ring. Might not have made it to the capital yet but completed Ranni's questline, so that's one of the endings sorted. Also progessed the Hyetta and Millicent quests a fair bit, so on track to get the trophy related endings in one playthrough
I've not put my PS5 on for the last few nights. Going back to work this week has been a bit of a shock to the system.Hoping to get on tonight or this weekend at least and make a start on Requiem and possibly The Crew Motorfest too.

I'm 1 trophy away from the Horizon FW plat - complete the biggest and hardest cauldron - Kappa. No sweat - the cauldron's are great fun, I'll get that wrapped up tonight probably.I have played through the entire game on 'normal' difficulty and not had too many issues, it's been the right level of challenge, fun, not a breeze, but not too frustrating, but I have no shame in admitting that I had to knock it down to 'story' (very easy) for some of the trophy-specific challenges that I have cleared up after completing the main game - namely the boss battle with the Enduring after completing the melee pits, and the Arena just to stand a chance of winning within the time limit to achieve the medals. Meh, the trophies aren't linked to the game difficulty setting so whatever lol
Think I'll take a wee break before Burning Shores. The main game has taken me about 100 hours!!
I knocked the difficulty down, especially for that Enduring boss fight.The hardest bit in the game was getting one of the combos right in one of the melee pits to even unlock Eundring. Really fiddly to say the least.
Sony could maybe use you as a testament to the ps5’s durability. Probably not too many with the playing time that you’ve logged and there should be some kind of recognition or award for it. Amazing.
