If you keep the PS5 version 'in home' and you make sure the PS4 version is not 'in home' (keep it off) then once you've fired up enough other games at least the PS4 version will slip off the homescreen. In theory ;-). It might not work however with disks inserted - not something I've tried but it might work. If you leave the disk in the console that might help as I think each time you insert a disk it promotes it to be at the front of the homescreen.

DeckardCain's Sandals (deckardcainssandals) | 2105 comments I reckon I'm over halfway through Persona 5 Tactica now. It's not a terrible spin off but can't say I'm really feeling it. It's a case of story - battle - repeat, could have done with something to break things up

Equinox80 | 666 comments Played some Remnant 2 last night and came across the first bit that I struggled a bit to get past. When I say struggled, it took me around 15-20 attempts which for a souls like may not be too bad?

DeckardCain's Sandals (deckardcainssandals) | 2105 comments Finished the story of Persona 5 Tactica. Not bad but doesn't really stand out. The plat looks like taking most of a NG+ playthrough, but don't think it'll take too long skipping cut scenes and dialogue

message 3305: by Equinox80 (new)

Equinox80 | 666 comments I think my plat count will stay as it is for a while. I'm enjoying playing Remnant 2 without thinking about trophies and just exploring the game world. Usually I like a game to clearly show the next objective but I'm finding the way R2 doesn't really do this to be quite refreshing. You get a rough idea of where you're meant to go but it doesn't exactly hand hold you.

There are no missable trophies so if I do ever feel confident enough to go for it, I can replay bits as necessary.

Equinox80 | 666 comments I saw Space Marine 2 has had its release date moved to the second half of next year.

Not a completely bad thing with the similar-ish looking Helldivers 2 coming out in Feb.

Nice they're spread out a bit more now.

Yea I noticed that too. Better to delay than rush out a sub-par game - I'm fine with it. Reduces the pressure on my wishlist/backlog which is growing.

DeckardCain's Sandals (deckardcainssandals) | 2105 comments Ping! Persona 5 Tactica. Might move on to the PS4 version now I know I can get through it fairly quick.

Equinox80 | 666 comments Good stuff Deck. You'll be hitting the 250 milestone soon.

DeckardCain's Sandals (deckardcainssandals) | 2105 comments Yeah, it's closer than I realised. I'm sure I looked the other day and was at 237 but looking this morning, it's up to 242.

Bit surprised they've not added more games to the PS sale today. It's still pretty poor for both quality and quantity. Not too bothered as I've plenty to be getting on with but might pick up a few PSVR2 games for over xmas

DeckardCain's Sandals (deckardcainssandals) | 2105 comments Maybe they have added stuff....I don't remember seeing Immortals of Aveum the few times I looked, but noticed it's down to £35. I think I'll bite

message 3312: by Equinox80 (new)

Equinox80 | 666 comments I've heard rumours that's going to be a Dec PS+ game mate. Not sure if Essentials or Extra though.

It does look a good game though.

DeckardCain's Sandals (deckardcainssandals) | 2105 comments It's been a while since I've picked up a game, only for it to appear on ps+ a few days later. so I'm probably overdue ;)

DeckardCain's Sandals (deckardcainssandals) | 2105 comments Decided to hold off on the second Persona 5 Tactica plat for now. Will go back and replay it properly at some point. Spent most of the weekend on F1 23 instead. No intention of pinging it, just enjoying a race or two now and then.

Also briefly played Evil West and seems solid. Even on performance mode, it's not exactly buttery smooth, but nothing overly distracting. Combat feels solid, don't think I'll fancy playing on evil difficulty for the plat though

Morning all. More AC Mirage at the weekend. Probably in the final quarter of the game now. Really enjoying it still and really like the return to the more focussed campaign. Also tried Teardown - not for me. Spent 20 minutes on it and honestly thought it was a pile of crap lol. I know it's been well received but if that's the game it's defo not for me. As I'll complete AC Mirage soon not sure what to play next - it's one of Callisto Protocol, Dead Space remake (played the original) or Alan Wake 2. I do think AW2 might get a small price cut in the christmas/new year sale so tempted to wait. And I'm pretty sure I'll get one or both of Robocop and Terminator for christmas so might push an AW2 purchase until after these two.

message 3316: by Equinox80 (new)

Equinox80 | 666 comments Terminator Resistance is in the new End of Year sale R. I can't see how nuchal it is as it is marked as Purchased for me.

The sale looks worse than the Black Friday one although WRC Generations standard edition is half tempting at £14. Not sure I can face trying to find someone for the co driver trophies though.

Thanks for the heads up on the Terminator deal. £15.99 in the sale. Thing is I don’t know if it’s been bought for me as a Christmas present. What to do lol.

message 3319: by Equinox80 (new)

Equinox80 | 666 comments You could have done with this sale a few weeks ago haha. Probably best to leave it if its possibly you're getting it for Christmas. If not, it'll likely be on sale again and possibly even less.

Hi all

Finished Conarium a couple of days ago.
Its a nice walking sim/adventure/lite puzzle game inspired by H.P. Lovecraft´s work.
It has some very awkward puzzles that left me scratching my head at times.
Like...you try to open a door, it wont open and the character says something is blocking from the other side. I try 3 times and it wont open so, acording to every gaming good practice i figure it needs sometihng and i move on.
After 10 minutes of wandering around thinkign the game bugged out cause there´s nothing left to do in the area i check a YT video and if you tried to open 5 or 6 times the door actually unblocks...i mean...where in the world is this hapening in any other game?

Overal, it was a short nice time but nothing memorable.
I give it a 6/10.

DeckardCain's Sandals (deckardcainssandals) | 2105 comments The co driver trophies in WRC Generations aren't anything to worry about. For the driver part, I muted the tv so I wouldn't have to listen to the co driver. And for the co driver, I said nothing and let them find their own way. There's in game matchmaking so pick a short and straightforward track and those 2 trophies can be done in 5 minutes with minimal effort with a rando. Or if you aren't as lazy and unsociable as me, you could do it properly ;) Either way, 5 minutes and they are done

message 3322: by Equinox80 (new)

Equinox80 | 666 comments I mean finding someone to do the trophies with. It's hard enough on these games when they're new but the servers will be a complete ghost town now.

DeckardCain's Sandals (deckardcainssandals) | 2105 comments Ah. Good point. I'd tried to go back to one of the older WRC games a while back, it was only a couple of years old at that point but it was still hard to tell if they'd cut the servers or there was just no one playing anymore. Some driving games are alright at maintaining a player base but the WRC games seem to be among the worst at that

DeckardCain's Sandals (deckardcainssandals) | 2105 comments Played a bit more of Evil West and quite like it. It's a wee bit basic in level design and the dodge can be a bit awkward but generally enjoying it

message 3325: by Error (last edited Nov 28, 2023 07:06AM) (new)

Error | 408 comments I really enjoyed Evil West but had to give it up close to the end. It seemed to have the Skyrim PS3 issue where the longer you played the more buggy the save file gets. I stopped toward the end of the final character story and the game had a 50/50 chance of crashing with every engagement. If it has been patched I should go back and finish up the game.

DeckardCain's Sandals (deckardcainssandals) | 2105 comments Could be wrong, but you might be thinking of Weird West rather than Evil West. Only played a bit of WW, broke my shovel early on from pointlessly burying every corpse I found. Ruined my evening;) Decided I'd go back to it at some point when I'm in the mood

message 3327: by Equinox80 (new)

Equinox80 | 666 comments I like the look of Evil West. Will definitely bite when I see a good offer in a sale. In the meantime I'll keep my fingers crossed it comes to PS+

I'm still enjoying Remnant 2 and finished the second World last night. I know this will come to bite me on the backside but I'm finding the game quite easy now. I'm not sure if I've found good gear or invested wisely in traits (health etc). I killed the second World boss in one try and it wasn't by the skin of my teeth or anything, I annihilated them. It is challenging in places still but I'm doing much better than when I started.

You're absolutely right. Evil West is the old-school action game right? I'll wait on that one...

DeckardCain's Sandals (deckardcainssandals) | 2105 comments Yeah Evil West has its flaws but generally fun so far. I'd prefer it if they'd had made the easy difficulty a bit easier though. Not died yet but been very close on a few occasions

Equinox80 | 666 comments Killed another boss in Remnant 2 last night. It was a closer fight than the last but still done in one attempt.

DeckardCain's Sandals (deckardcainssandals) | 2105 comments PS+ games for December...own them all but the only one I enjoyed was Powerwash Sim. Says it all ;) To be fair I think Sable might have been ok'ish if I could get used to the animation. Lego 2K Drive wasn't great from what I've played and no motivation to go back

message 3332: by Equinox80 (new)

Equinox80 | 666 comments Yeah its an OK month. There have been some cracking games go on PS+ this year on Essentials and Extra but since they hiked the prices, the quality has been underwhelming.

I'm hoping the December Extra games are a bit more appealing.

DeckardCain's Sandals (deckardcainssandals) | 2105 comments The collaboration millions have been waiting for....well, maybe thousands...or tens...a few at least....or maybe just Equinox ;)

message 3335: by Equinox80 (new)

Equinox80 | 666 comments Haha, if I ever see the PS5 one for a reasonable price, I'll get it. £150 is a little steep despite how amazing it is.

DeckardCain's Sandals (deckardcainssandals) | 2105 comments Resi 4 VR has got a release date. 8th December. Had been holding off playing the remake for it. Between that and Bulletstorm VR, looks like my PSVR2 will be getting a bit more use in the near future.

message 3337: by Equinox80 (new)

Equinox80 | 666 comments Morning all. I've got to the final boss on Remnant 2 last night and immediately regretted saying I was finding the game easy. I did a fair amount of damage but there are several phases to the fight and in one phase, I'm not sure how to dodge attacks so get mullered.

I think I'm going to 're-roll' the previous worlds in adventure mode and level up some more in order to upgrade my weapons as much as possible and then go back.

With levelling up and better dodging, I should be OK. Before that through it will be fun re-rolling the previous worlds to play through the second story threads as you essentially only play 50% of the game in your first play through.

message 3338: by Error (new)

Error | 408 comments Sounds like Remnant 2 is just like the first then...the final boss of that one was insanely difficult and somewhat confusing multi-stage battle. Great stuff though.

I have a nice rotation right now between my old school RPG Chained Echoes, Warhammer: Darktide, and Red Dead 2.

Morning all. Finally completed Assassin's Creed Mirage over the weekend. I really enjoyed it. I enjoy the focus on stealth game play as the stealth game play loop is so satisfying. By the end of the game I was so good at stealth I could stealthily take out an entire enemy area killing dozens and dozens of enemies without ever being seen. Even a small area with several enemy I could mix it up with throwing knives, blow darts, sneaking in quick succession clearing them all in seconds. The story was ok, nothing special, but serviced the game well enough. My only complaint is the combat (when stealth goes wrong) is a little clunky and towards the end of the game there seemed to be a frame-rate issue - which was helped by enabling VRR. In the end a solid 8/10 on the r-score-o-meter. Not sure what I'm playing next and I think I'll leave my next game to christmas - see what Santa brings me. I'm also still plugging away on MW2 multiplayer - I'm slowly getting better after a very ropey period and I'm even sniping pretty effectively which I've never done before in any COD so that's mixing it up for me.

Equinox80 | 666 comments Good stuff R. AC Mirage is another game from this year firmly on my radar.

I didn't have too much time to game over the weekend but did make some more progress on Remnant 2. I replayed the first world through on the alternative story line and made a start on the second world too. I've managed to gain enough resource to complete the final upgrades on my guns so I'm toying with the idea of heading back into my campaign mode game and retrying the final boss. No harm in levelling up a bit more in adventure mode though I suppose.

DeckardCain's Sandals (deckardcainssandals) | 2105 comments I've taken a break from Evil West (not that it's bad, just not what I'm in the mood for at the minute). Been playing a few mildly interesting wee games - Dredge, Spirit Hunters: Infinite Horde, Hades Star & Cyber TD. Nothing to write home about (is that a thing anymore?) but all enjoyable enough

Looks like an easy plat too ;-). Not that I'm going for the plat.

One other thing is the map is very small compared to the three AC games before it but for me that's no bad thing.

message 3343: by Equinox80 (new)

Equinox80 | 666 comments I've only played Origins of the last 3 AC games and didn't really enjoy it. I found it massively over bloated, especially as a trophy hunter so an extra appeal of Mirage is its compact map :)

DeckardCain's Sandals (deckardcainssandals) | 2105 comments The one thing that has me wary of Mirage is that by bringing back the old style they'd bring back the old problems. I remember trying to replay the Ezio collection a few years back and wondered how I ever managed to finish them first time around. The controls were pretty horrific, very frustrating, bouncing off the walls both literally and figuratively ;)

I enjoyed Origins - not too big and I completed it within 30 hours. I skipped Odyessy. Valhalla was way too bloated and even after 30 hours of mainlining the campaign I wasn't even remotely half way through the campaign. Mirage reminds me more of AC2. However, yes the combat as Deckard says can be frustrating. Parrying etc is fine it's just dodge roll where you get stuck in the middle of a crowd of enemies or a wall - and it feels like you're pressing the dodge button but nothing happens. Stealth is a real pleasure though. Combat can be mostly avoided if you're good at stealth.

I completed Mirage main campaign in 15 hours. So defo not bloated. 100% absolutely everything to get the plat I expect would take me another 5-10 hours-ish.

message 3346: by Error (new)

Error | 408 comments Remnant 2 popped up on Game Pass, so I spent the weekend with that. Once again, I find the premise behind the game really interesting and the gun play is tight and fun. It took me the whole weekend of heavy play to wrap up the first world, so Equinox has been flying through.

message 3347: by Equinox80 (new)

Equinox80 | 666 comments I'm not sure flying through is the right term. More stumbling I'd say. I've put in about 30 hours over 3 weeks and nearing the end of re-rolling the second world.

DeckardCain's Sandals (deckardcainssandals) | 2105 comments Was starting to think that CyberTD was looking platable but now looks like one of those which will be left with one trophy remaining. Only have a weapon specific and the max level trophy left but unless an upgrade unlocks on the way to max level, I've no idea how to do the weapon one. And it's the kind of game there's zero help online. I'll get to max level and hope but even if I don't get the plat, I've enjoyed it well enough

message 3349: by Equinox80 (new)

Equinox80 | 666 comments I saw you playing that Deck and checked it out. It looks like a really tower defence game and nice graphics too.

DeckardCain's Sandals (deckardcainssandals) | 2105 comments Yeah, apart from the camera controls, it's definitely a decent tower defence. Requires a bit more thought than the last one I played
