Ping! WRC. A few minor irritations, the clubs mode especially, seems to solely exist to force you onto the racenet website, all for the sake of one race. Other games have had similar modes without doing that. Driving wise - not many complaints, decent stuff.

Nice one Deck. If I get some PSN vouchers for Christmas, this is on my list. I saw they'd released quite a large patch addressing some of the small framerate issues it had.I've really got an itch for Remnant 2, even though I never played the first.
The first was great, and part two is apparently "more of the same". It's on my list for a $20 or Gamepass pickup.I'll see if I can't get though Undead Nightmare this weekend. Even if I find the first disc, I think I've been thoroughly turned off the notion of playing through the main campaign again. Don't think I could suffer through another 20+ hours of those horse mechanics.
Ping! Lost Word: Beyond The PageAn arty farty, indie game available via + Extra. Not bad as far as these types of games go.
Made a start on Spider-man 2, and yep, it's more of the same (shocking. I know ;) ). Doesn't look overly long, it says I'm about 25% so far, and about all I've done is look for collectables. Also played a bit of F1 23 and Wizard with a Gun over the weekend and like what I've played of both

Ping! Mass Effect 3 (from the remastered trilogy).4th plat this year, by far the most in a year for me, and overall i have gamed more this year than any other by miles - first full year with ps5 - by far the best console I have ever had/had access to, so my gaming has gone up a lot.
I pinged the original ME3 on ps3 back in 2012 which was more involved, having to complete on insanity etc, but the Legendary edition version was more straightforward, and I only had a couple of trophies to clear up from a previous playthrough (July 2021!) so just polished it off last night/this morning :)
Morning all. My lad has been to bed early the last few nights and I really should have made the most of the free time to get stuck into a game. However, I just couldn't find anything I wanted to play, which is ridiculous given my backlog.I hope Black Friday throws up some inspiring choices as there's a few newer games I'd like to try.

Its for my man cave. I was still using the PS4 Pro in there and it was causing me anxiety problems in the style of Boogie 2988. :P
The stupid thing is that the game i mostly play there is Fifa career mode and i´m now in Fifa 23 that has a ps5 version with all the gimmicks and stuff.
So i was super excited to start playing that version but when i looked for it its no longer available to upgrade and i cant even buy it.
Its only on EA Play which is 24 eur/year which it may not be too expensive but i have zero games in there that interest me apart from Fifa 23.
What a bummer...

Making decent progress in Spider-man 2. Not one I'm likely to rave about but no big complaints either. Decent fun but does remind me of how much I hate collectables
Ping! Spider-man 2. Happy enough to have played it, but happier it's over. Not a bad game, but some of the boss fights weren't a lot of fun and didn't really enjoy some of the side activities and yeah, I hate collectables. It has the looks and the traversal is fun but the combat was a bit hit and miss, at times fun, at times annoying. Decent and I'm sure most will love it but for me it's just alright
Put quite a few hours into Chained Echoes the last few days. It really does have a fantastic story. It reminds of how I felt playing Final Fantasy VI for the first time back in the 90s. Now, I'm now saying Chained Echoes is on par, or trying emulate FF. I'm just saying it has engaged me and captured my imagination like the best 16-bit RPGs could back then.
The PS+ Extra offerings are terrible this month.
You'd think one or two half decent additions might have convinced some to up a tier or two in the black friday sales. Guess they must be happy they'll get enough in game purchases.Not that I'm a huge fan of the games (though don't hate them either), I'm tempted to go back to the first Spider-man. I'd platted the PS4 version but hardly touched the PS5. Might make a start on that while I'm in the mood for a more action sort
I'm surprised you haven't autopopped the PS5 version of Spider-man. That's what I'll do as soon as I can.I'm hoping for decent deals on a few games in the Black Friday sale tomorrow. There are a few specific ones I'm looking out for. I should probably re up my + Extra sub too. I think it was this time last year I upgraded to Extra.

FInished The Evil Within 2 last night.
I absolutely loved it. Its a true survival horror gem for sure.
The game was engaging, the story was good, the survival elements were enough to make the player count the ammo and stress about it and the ending was really well done. Very emotional.
This is the definition of a hidden gem that every survival horror should play.
I give it a 9/10. So far the best score ive given to any game this year.
Better than Andromeda? High praise indeed....;)

Had a quick look at the week before black friday sales on the PS store, and as I kind of suspected, anything I'd be half interested in isn't reaching the biting point. Couple of PSVR2 games maybe, but not much else.
I think Remnant 2 has reached my biting point. There are a couple of other tempters in Evil West, Atlas Fallen and A Plague Tale: Requiem.
However, 2 if not all 3 are likely PS+ contenders so I'm not sure. Plus they haven't quite dropped in price enough.
I'm half tempted to upgrade to + Premium to play TLOU pt1 as that stubbornly refuses to drop to an acceptable price point.

Ended up playing a bit of Alan Wake Remastered last night but i found out its way more janky than i remember.
Not sure i´ll stick with it.
I've felt like that all week Glass. I played something for the first time in days last night and that was Astro's Playroom to get the last and most tricky DLC trophy (do the speed run challenges in under a combined time of 7 mins).I kid you not, I managed a time of exactly 7:00:00 (after many replays of certain levels) and no ping. Thankfully I shaved a few seconds off the first one and did it.
After my initial play through of all 8 challenges my time was 9:18 so had to redo them all quite a few times.
Glass you should haw something from the new sale.
I'm on the fence about continuing with the PS5 Spider-man playthrough. Spent a couple of hours yesterday revealing the map and picking up backpacks, do a couple of minor story missions...and they throw landmark photographs and fisk hideouts. Collectables should be banned in open world games ;)

The game i TRULY feel like playing is Alan Wake 2 but im not gonna spend 70 bucks after buying another ps5. My wife yould kill me. lol
The thing is that im not sure what type of game i would like to sink into.
The Evil Witing 2 was so good that i wanted to keep the flow but Alan Wake 1 didnt quite do it for me.
Yes Glass. Honestly give it a try if you haven't already. Even if you're not a massive fan of platformers, I think you'll like it.
Deck, did you not play/plat Spider-man on PS4? If so, just import your save file over to the PS5 version.

Yeah platted the PS4 version of Spidey but didn't bother transferring any of my saves when I went from PS4 to PS5, so have to do it all again

Ah fair enough. I'll definitely be autopopping that when I can. Unfortunately I bought the PS4 version on disc and traded it in years ago so can't access the PS5 remaster for free. I was going to buy it again in CEX but it jumped from £10 to £18 as soon the PS5 remaster went up on the store. It hasn't dropped since and is too much for something that will literally take 2 seconds to plat.
I've bought Remnant 2 and it's downloading now. The fear has struck now though with the realisation it's harder than the usual stuff I play.
As I kind of suspected...it was probably a bad idea to replay Spider-man so soon after 2. Forgot how tedious some of it was. Not even finished Act 1 and between backpacks, thug crimes, Demon crimes, black cat stakeouts, landmarks, research stations, fisk hideouts and pigeons, I'm losing the will to live.
And does The Last of Us Part 2 really need a remaster already...
TLOU 2 defo doesn't need a remaster. I've just upgraded to + Premium as I was convinced TLOU pt1 was available to play on that tier. However I was wrong, it's just a trial. I feel a bit stupid and should have done better research I suppose.
It's only cost £12 to upgrade until next October but still annoying as I'm not sure if I'll use any of the additional features.
Ping! Spider-man Remaster. Tedious collectables and side activities aside, I enjoyed replaying it well enough.

Yeah, I'd consider replaying TLoU 2 at that price, definitely not at full.Made a start on Persona 5 Tactica. It's OK, but hasn't really gripped me yet. It looks like it's a fair bit shorter than Persona 5, which, as much as I liked P5, its more than fine by me. 30 hours will be more than enough

Visually the game was and still is stunning.
I do want to replay it sometime but i need 20 therapy sessions and a two boxes of Xanax before doing it.

I didn't game a huge amount over the weekend. I spent another 2-3 hours on Assassin's Creed Mirage - think I'm about half way through. The combat isn't great. I don't remember previous AC games having clunky controls but dodge/roll is very flaky not responding when you're fighting multiple enemies and makes it frusrating. Otherwise enjoying it. Also been playing COD MW3 multiplayer - I seriously am getting too old for this sheet and I need to give up lol. Some games I'm absolutely slaughtered. If I were only good at the game I might enjoy it.

DB Kakarot and Terminator Resistance still require the disk after upgrading to the PS5 version which is really stupid.

Yea that's OK. I guess Sony don't want people to hand a disk around just so they can download the PS5 version and never need the disk again - i.e. potential for Sony losing money on full price purchases of the game. I know they've done upgrades for disks in the past but I also know they haven't as well for some games (but do it for digital purchases). No way I'd pay full whack for TLOU2 again but £10 is acceptable.
The only annoying thing about downloading the ps5 version of a ps4 game you have on disc is with having to have the ps4 disc inserted in order to play the ps5 version, the ps5 constantly tried to re-install the ps4 version!I wish it was something Sony would include via an update (so the system recognises when there's a ps5 version present and so doesn't automatically push the ps4 onto you too).

I've put about 6 or 7 hours into Remnant 2 now and can say I'm enjoying it. Its out of my comfort zone but that's a good thing as I've fancied something different to what I normally play for a while.I'm still getting used to alk the systems and how to upgrade etc. One glaring omission though is that I can't sell old weapons I no longer use (unless I'm missing something). When I go to a vendor the only things I can sell are items used for crafting/upgrades which seems a bit backwards.
