Error | 408 comments Between the kids sporting events and helping some in-laws move, I haven't had any time or energy to game. This weekend doesn't look any better. I may finish Elden Ring by Fall.

Whilst ME2 is my favourite, I realised when replaying it, it has the weakest story of all 3. I think it's the recruitment and loyalty missions that make it so good for me. It had the crew roster too for me.

Btw, i hawed The Orange Box for the Xbox.
One of the things im loving in the X/S is the availability of old games that i have great memories of.
I already bought The Darkness, The Orange Box, Far Cry 2, Fallout 3 (with all the expansions) and GTA IV.
Its great to replay them with nearly no loading times.

Glassmoon - The Benny Hill of Plats | 779 comments Mod
Btw, i have to take this out of my chest.

B2 is soooo hot. I shamefully got a trophy for looking under her skirt a lot of times.
I keep trying to find spots where the camera allows me to look at her all the time.
Im ridiculous... haha

message 1455: by [deleted user] (new)

Haha that's one of the main things I remember from Nier Automata.

Not sure if you ever played Lollipop Chainsaw but there's a similar trophy in that game. She is hot too.

DeckardCain's Sandals (deckardcainssandals) | 2105 comments The Orange Box.....maybe time to dust off the Xbox. I've said it before but I'd love the first Half-Life to be remastered and on console. The second was good (the episodes less so) but played it to death.

And you amateur perverts still have a ways to go ;) 8 of my plats are from the Sakura Succubus games ;) I've not picked up Sakura Swim Club...yet. Obviously just bought for the cheap, quick and easy plats....honest....

Hey Deck, are you on 200 plats yet? I'm guessing Elden Ring slowed you down a bit with all the hours you've put in.

Or I'm hoping it did anyway ;)

Hot video game ladies...Lara is obviously a classic (very nice in the Crystal Dynamics games) and there's the like of the resi ladies (Jill Valentine in REmake and especially the resi 3 remake, and Claire Redfield in the resi 2 remake). Also can't forget the Mass Effect ladies, and Citra from Far Cry 3....

But my favourite is Evie Frye from Assassins Creed Syndicate :)

I've not platted much at all this year. Think only about 4 so far and 2 of them were Grid Legends. Been stuck on 167 for a few months now. I've a couple of games that are a trophy or two away but can't get the motivation to push them over the edge. I blame My Name is Mayo 2, it was a bad way to end last year for plats ;)

Tempted to pick up the 2 Knights of the Old Republic games though

I forgot to mentioned that.
I couldnt buy it either so i googled it and found that, for some reason, the game is not available on the X/S store.
I had to use my 360 and the game was indeed available in there. Bought and it apeared in my X/S´s game list.

Im also temped for both Kotors. I only played the first back in the day.

AlienGirl54 | 46 comments One character I fell in lust with in a game was Leon S Kennedy in RE4. And I don't usually go for guys with floppy blond hair.

Oh, there was, of course, Marcus Fenix. Now that's more my type.

Still in Amalur, will be there for ages, so won't bore you all with it, especially as you've all probably played it!

Hey AG, you can talk about Amalur all you want. I love the game and i´ll glady revisit those memories.

message 1464: by Error (new)

Error | 408 comments I like to hear from everyone about what is happening in their games. Whether I've played it or not, it's fun to share those experiences. It often leads to me replaying, or picking up a game that wasn't necessarily on my radar.

Woke up to calf-high snow today. Seems like a good excuse to stay inside and game this weekend - outside of kids sporting events of course! Nothing gets cancelled for weather around here.

Hi Deck, I'll be picking up Mayo 2 as its on sale. Gonna save it when I'm above 190 plats to get nearer 200.

I'm still stuck on what to play next and it's been over 2 weeks since I picked up a controller. Was hoping for inspiration in the new PS store sales but not much doing there. Half tempted by Sleeping Dogs at £3.74 though.

Glassmoon - The Benny Hill of Plats | 779 comments Mod
Does anyone recomend Phoenix Rising on the PS4? Its on sale for 20 something bucks and i have 36 euros to spend for a really long time now.

message 1467: by DeckardCain's Sandals (last edited Apr 29, 2022 07:24AM) (new)

DeckardCain's Sandals (deckardcainssandals) | 2105 comments Yeah I've been struggling about what to move onto next and the latest sales I've looked at twice and nothing's jumping out. Weird temptation to pick up lawnmower sim though lol

And to be fair to Mayo 2, it didn't feel as bad as 1.....probably because I knew exactly what I was in for.

I've been switching between Disgaea 1 and Everybody's Golf the past couple of says. I'd stick with Disgaea but there's only so much use of the "word" dood I can take ;)

message 1468: by hancock by Sega™ (new)

hancock by Sega™ | 8 comments Speaking of PS store sales….for anyone interested in some retro gaming, Contra Anniversary is a mere $4.99 right now, down from being regularly priced at $19.99. That’s pretty good considering it has every Contra game ever released on console. Ironically enough, starting today Limited Run is taking pre-orders for the physical edition for $34.99.

DeckardCain's Sandals (deckardcainssandals) | 2105 comments The Contra and Castlevania collections are ones I'll always take a look at when they are on sale but with my limited patience these days, I know they'll be played for 5 minutes before I'd be looking for something else, so they never quite make it to checkout

Is that Immortals Fenyx Rising, Phoenix Point or Phoenix Wright Ace Attorney lol? Immortals is decent enough, I think I wasn't in an Ubisoft mood at the time I played so my enthusiasm for it isn't great but it was solid. Phoenix Point - has it's flaws but I now prefer it over Xcom. Phoenix Wright - Objection! Do have good memories of it.

Phoenix Nights is good too, River Phoenix I can't think of anything they are in so can't comment off the top of my head, Phoenix Park I've not been there

message 1471: by [deleted user] (new)

I might have to check out lawnmower sim. Sounds potentially quite therapeutic.

Glassmoon - The Benny Hill of Plats | 779 comments Mod
I meant Immortal FR. haha.
I dont know...its starting to be really hard to haw games for the PS4. Its like every game i buy i push the Series X further away , if you know what i mean.
I probably should save it and buy Ghost of Tsushima when its on sale due to its exclusivity.

Equinox80 wrote: "I might have to check out lawnmower sim. Sounds potentially quite therapeutic."

Now you mention it, i´ve been playing Snowrunner on the Xbox and im actually loving it.
I never played a game like this but i find it so relaxing to drive trucks and make deliveries at my own pace.
Plus, the graphics on the X are amazing.

message 1474: by [deleted user] (new)

I keep seeing Snowrunner and Mudrunner and thinking I should give them a look.

message 1475: by DeckardCain's Sandals (last edited Apr 29, 2022 09:25AM) (new)

DeckardCain's Sandals (deckardcainssandals) | 2105 comments I played one of Snowrunner and Mudrunner, can't remember which - got stuck for no apparent reason 5 mins in and binned it off. Keep meaning to give it another try but looked as if more patience was needed than I had at the time.

Thinking of getting a new car so trying to keep the hawing to a minimum but.... does anyone know if The Stanley Parable is any good. I've not hawed since... Stranger of Paradise I think was the last, which is a lifetime for me recently. I know it's been about for a good while but it sounds mildly interesting. My main fear is it look a bit to much like a dreaded walking sim for my taste. Might have to either watch more videos of it or take a chance.... and it's more fun to take a punt.....

Even though I've been driving for 20+ years I'm not too confident driving bigger cars and happier in a smaller one, so I'm currently looking at a new Toyota Aygo X. Looks like a pretty stylish wee car and had a few Toyota's in the past and had no hassle with them. So that's looking likelier than the non-hawing pact ;)

DeckardCain's Sandals (deckardcainssandals) | 2105 comments And The Stanley Parable is brilliant. Really not a fan of walking sims but it's definitely getting 50 clicks of door 430

If anyone likes tower defence games, try M.A.C.E Tower Defence. Its in the latest PS store sale for 84p and is an absolute hidden gem. I love games like this but there aren't many on console.

Morning all

Finished Route A in Nier Automata and currently at the beginning of route B.
Hope the game doenst make me repeat all the quests i already done.
It was a nice touch though that the game saved everything i did when calibrating 2B settings when i started the game.
While 9S was helping her calibrating i was wondering why B2 was taking so much time going back and forth in the options...until i realized it was copying what i did back then. haha. Good stuff.

DeckardCain's Sandals (deckardcainssandals) | 2105 comments Pretty sure I've seen all The Stanley Parable endings now. Wont be platting it though, one of the trophies is completely ridiculous. Play the game for the entire duration of a Tuesday. I think on the PC it was possible to get that one by messing with settings but doesn't seem to be the same on consoles. I'll have another look to see if it can be done somehow but no way I'm leaving it on for 24 hours. Enjoyed it though. The true ending was a little dull but when you ignore the narrator it's when it truly shines.

Hi all. Not much gaming from me except for completeing the Metro Exodus Two Colonels DLC. Which was pretty good - all underground and mostly with the use of a flamethrower. Only a couple of hours long. Next I'm going to play the Sam's Story DLC which looks a lot more meaty at 5 hours of game play and from what I can tell mostly on the surface - looks really good.

message 1483: by DeckardCain's Sandals (last edited May 03, 2022 03:28AM) (new)

DeckardCain's Sandals (deckardcainssandals) | 2105 comments I'd picked up the DLC for Metro Exodus a while back with the intent to play it once the PS5 update was out...but forgot all about it. Underground sounds good, the semi-open worlds of the main game didn't do much for me to be honest, to the point I imagine that trying to replay the whole thing would feel like a bit of a chore. Which says a lot since I've played the first 2 games multiple times and would happily play them again

I liked Exodus as much as the earlier games. Nice to return to it. I’ll probably play the first two again one day too now I have the enhanced versions on the Series X.

message 1485: by AlienGirl54 (new)

AlienGirl54 | 46 comments Hi all. Well, it looks like I'm nearing the end of Amalur and have to admit to being a bit sad about it. I've really enjoyed this world and will be sorry to leave it. So sorry, in fact that I'm now hunting down any side missions I missed! Have to admit doing more hacking and slashing than magic stuff (tho I love my faer gorta companion) and not a lot of sneaking around (i'm a go in all guns blazing kinda gal!).

No idea what I will play next, tho I might redo Control. I got hung up on one thing but I feel I should go back and give it another go.

message 1486: by [deleted user] (new)

Give Control another go, especially as they have since patched in the ability to adjust the difficulty level. There were 3 or 4 spots in the game where the difficulty spikes were brutal so can understand why you put it to one side.

message 1487: by R(ob) (new)

R(ob) (r_uk) | 886 comments Mod
Yea that difficulty slider in Control made the game a lot more enjoyable for me. More games should adopt it. Gamers should have more choice on difficulty and this allows that choice perfectly. A game can still have it's default settings but more choice for those that want it doesn't break a hard game if a hard game was the devs original intent. I'd probably play From Soft games then :-).

Glassmoon - The Benny Hill of Plats | 779 comments Mod
Hi everyone.

I thought Control was a very good game but i did had to turned it down to easy on a couple of times as it was becoming really frustrating.

Im currently midway through route B on Nier Automata.
Im starting to feel like a monster everytime i kill robots tbh...

message 1489: by AlienGirl54 (new)

AlienGirl54 | 46 comments Looks like I'll be replaying Control then! At least, once I can drag myself away from Amalur!

I think Lara Croft said something like that as she was kicking off a new gaming genre.

DeckardCain's Sandals (deckardcainssandals) | 2105 comments After finishing Spar Tower Defence (wait, no it's that other ridiculously overpriced inconvenience store Mace, the game was pretty addictive and dirt cheap though), I've finally got stuck into Stranger of Paradise. Can't say I'm overly enthusiastic about it though, the combat is far too imprecise. It's almost like a souls mixed with a hack and slash at times and doesn't feel satisfying at all.

Noticed Sifu has had difficulty options added, so will have to get back to that too

Morning all. Not started anything new of note. Played some BF2042 and albeit it's less buggy than it was the game design is compromised so played a bit of that but I really can't grow to love it like I did all previous BF games. I did start Peggle 2 - such a good chillout game and I even played it on my tablet with cloud gaming. It's like a mobile game anyway. I'm not one for cloud gaming really - not why I signed up to games pass. I did think about starting the Metro Exodus or Alan Wake DLC but I seem to have lost my gaming mojo of late.

Morning all

Im currently in route C in Nier Automata.
I have to say i saw the twist coming for a long time.
Im not saying it was badly written at all. I just noticed a couple of details that led me to some conclusions that ended up being correct.
That being said, it made me a bit depressed and sad, tbh.

The game has turned into a rollercoster in Route C to a point that im a bit overwhelmed by what is going on.
Im back with 9S now so lets see where this is all going.

Good game for sure.

message 1494: by [deleted user] (new)

I'm currently playing MACE tower defence and up to level 49/70 now. Should get this done over the next 2 or 3 nights.

DeckardCain's Sandals (deckardcainssandals) | 2105 comments Making decent progress in Stranger of Paradise. It's growing on me a little but still maybe not the worst game I've played but nothing to write home about.

Tempted to pick up Salt and Sacrifice today as I did quite like Salt and Sanctuary but might hold off for a while as I've a few ideas on what to move onto after I finish SoP

message 1496: by [deleted user] (new)

More tower defence for me last night. The nearer I get to the end, the easier it seems to be with everything almost fully upgraded. I might even finish it tonight if I get an early enough start.

DeckardCain's Sandals (deckardcainssandals) | 2105 comments I found that too in MACE, the last 20 or so levels flew in pretty quick. The same tactics tended to work on every map which meant you could play most of it in x4 speed

message 1498: by Error (new)

Error | 408 comments Hi all. Fought my way to the final boss of Elden Ring a few days ago. Decided it's time to mop up a couple things before finishing the game. In my backtracking travels, I discovered not one, not two, but three completely new areas I had somehow missed before. Significant areas with major named bosses I had forgotten existed in the game, just because they hadn't been mentioned in so long. I'm currently exploring the third area. Maybe this week is the one?

264hrs and counting...

DeckardCain's Sandals (deckardcainssandals) | 2105 comments They do give you the opportunity to go back and explore, post end boss and pre-NG+. My mistake was heading straight to NG, when you can't go back.

I'll definitely have to have another play of Elden Ring. I know of 2 major areas I didn't explore much and who know how much I missed.

message 1500: by Error (new)

Error | 408 comments I'll just say that anytime you encounter a portal, go ahead and see where you end up. My "I'll come back and check this out later" attitude led to several missed areas (until clean up time). The game is just too big to remember things like that.
