I have absolutely zero interest in Deathloop. Just see no appeal in it at all.
Looks good to me. Always like Arkane games albeit Prey was a slightly mixed bag. Although IGN gave it a 10 and ACG a Wait-for-sale. So a bit polorizing.
I've just checked out some other reviews and many others with full marks too. Perhaps it's just ACG. I usually think he's pretty spot-on but it certainly looks like he's very much in the minority here.

I think I'm getting near the end of Tales of Arise. Apart from the fishing, quite like it. Was hoping it would fill a bit more time before Diablo 2 but I reckon I'll have the story done in the next day or two

Morning all
Been playing FC New Dawn.
I like how colorfull the world is. It reminds me a bit of FC3 at times.
Im still not sure i like the enemy level system though.
I disabled the health bars when i started so it hapenned quite a few times going to some place and start a fight with enemies and one of them behaving like a bullet sponge. Its really awkward and since i dont have the health bars it makes the whole thing a bit unrealistic at times.
Other then that, im enjoying what i played so far.
Im also glad the map is smaller cause after playing so much of FC5 im close to getting a bit tired.

Its getting harder and harder to find something to haw.
I have a bit of interest in Mafia 2 and that AC game is France.
But nothing to get me excited with.
I think in about 1 year im probablly ready to go next gen (assuming there´s one for me to buy).
Edit: im also curious about Tales of Arise. I watched some gameplay and the game look gorgeous.

Metro Exodus is a tempter in the new sale. The DLC is still for sale in the add on sale meaning I could get the lot for £12-13. Might have to get that.
I second that.
Metro Exodus is amazing.
In fact, all Metro are amazing. ITs one of those games that the level of immersion alone is worth the price.

Mafia 2 is a fantastic game I would recommend to anyone. I don't know if the new version actually changes anything, but the setting in that game is really something. The story is really good and the shooting is fine.

You should definitly play them properly mate.
Its a hell of a ride playing all 3 in a row.
I really liked Mafia 1 remastered.
The only reason why i didnt get Mafia 2 is because i read that its very buggy.
I might crack this time.

Well I tried the Medium and gave it 15 minutes and hated it. I know that’s not very long but the near static nature of it, with it being fixed camera angle from room to room, and the poor world interaction, that was enough for me. Not my bag at all so wasn’t going to prolong it. No idea what to play now. I am considering a replay of Titanfall 2 or perhaps try Destroy all Humans as it’s another mindless low commitment short game. Thing is I was looking forward to Battlefield 2042 early next month so wasn’t going to play anything too lengthy but from internet rumours Battlefield is to be delayed by several weeks, and some rumours say next year.
I played Mafia 2 and 3. Really good games. I preferred 2 but 3 is good. I have wondered whether to play the Mafia 1 remake.

BF 2042 has been delayed to 9 Nov.
Yea it's been delayed to Nov 19th which is OK - prefer it to be mostly working than not. Every battlefield launch since I've known has never gone that smoothly. At least it allows me to play Back4Blood when it comes out - as they previously released three days apart. Although COD and BF are now releasing closer together. And I tend to play them both at launch.

Then there's the setting - the first two you had the backdrop of the fascism vs communism on top of the general survival of both the conditions and the monsters. To me at least, Exodus took a big step back from that.
Gameplay was definitely more polished and it's a solid game but became just another shooter to me

I get where you´re coming from.
I personally think the first one is the best and the other two are equal. I liked the change in Exodus because i think a third game in the same setting as the others would be a bit tiresome.

Played a wee bit of Godfall as well. It's an almost for me. Glad I didn't pay full price but for what I did pay, think I'll get my money's worth. I think I remember people at the time saying it was a melee Destiny, and I do get the comparisons, but to me it has more in common with God of War. Well more like God of War if Kratos hadn't have eaten as many kebabs in the last game. Only played an hour or two so far, so it's still early days and my opinion will probably change but so far I'd give it 3/4 of a thumbs up
I started Destroy All Humans last night. The 2020 remake. It's actually OK and fun. Great to play as a bad alien and wreak havoc on the idiot humans. Great B type game like ManEater (entitely different games) but the same kind of B movie fun vibe - ManEater is the better game however. Some semi-annoying insta-death stuff but nothing that bad. Good variety of game play with stealth disguising yourself as a human (annoying insta-fail in some missions), popping brains out of heads, abductions and flying saucer wreaking havoc. A solid 7/10 so far.

Mafia 3 is the only one I've played and it's one of my absolute favourite games. It's true that a lot of the gameplay is very much rinse and repeat the same mechanics - very samey - but the big missions (paddle steamer/making your way up the tall building etc.) are so good! And the setting, the characters and their performances, the music, the vehicles and their handling - all top notch. I loved it!
Hi guys
Been having a great time with FC New Dawn.
I enabled the enemy health bars and that made the game a lot more enjoyable since now i know how long i am to actually kill an enemy.
I know FC games are always the same but i think im a sucker for that formula.
Every time i start one i end up having a blast playing it.
The only one i got bored was FC 4 but it was probably my fault.
Btw, one question for all of you.
Last night i loaded Rise of the Tom Raider just to see how it looks and got stuck on the decision to either play it on 4K at 30 fps or "normal" at 60 fps.
Do you guys favour framerate or visuals when games allow the choice?

Yea 60fps all the way. So difficult to go back to 30fps when most games are default 60fps on next gen. 120fps is more of a decision as for me sometimes the resolution takes a big hit depending on the game.

Im with you on this despite always spending a ridiculous amount of time trying to decide but in the end the smoother framerate always wins.

I dont think i ever played a game at 120 fps. Probably back in my old PC days but i cant rememeber.
I know the series X can do it on some games right?
Games become very confortable (its the best word i can find) at 60fps. They just...feel good to play.
What its like at 120 fps?

Sure. It also depends on the game.
But overall a smooth frame rate is better for me.
A good example is Shenuas Sacrifice. I just cant play that game on 4k visuals. Its so sluggish it actually makes me feel sick after a while.

120fps games feel very silky smooth and slick. You do notice a difference compared to 60fps. And then when you go back to 60fps from 120fps you feel the stutter that you probably didn’t notice before. 60fps then almost starts to feel like the difference between going from 60fps to 30fps. Hope that made sense 😀. If you don’t play 120fps for a while 60fps feels slick again. One of those things you notice when you use the better option. Only drawback is that games tend to downscale the resolution in 120fps. Most games downscale to 1080p which for me is too much so I tend to stick to 60fps. Some games only downscale to 1440p which is acceptable as the sharpness is still there somewhat.
120fps has spoilt me as I’ve switched my phone and tablet to 120fps devices as the difference is so much nicer.

Edit: Remembered where the missing quest was and didn't have to NG+ it, so another Tales of Arise ping!
Morning all. Played a bit more Destroy All Humans but I also played the COD Vanguard beta over the weekend. COD is COD multiplayer wise it's pretty much the same every year except with different maps, a different cosmetic theme and some weapons that we're all familiar with (from previous WW2 games). I honestly think it won't go down well this year with the WW2 theme (WW2 seems to be unpopular with gamers at the mo) but got to say I wasn't of fan of the beta. The maps in the beta are tiny and I've never been shot in the back as much - it looks like the spawns are broke and that it's much easier to get behind and flank people mainly due to map design and probably the spawns. And the Blitz mode is awful - at least for me - it's like spawn-die-spawn every ten seconds. So I switched that off in the matchmaking which is at least is an option. Could be the year Battlefield - if it's good - might become the top (as in most popular) FPS game.
Morning everyone
Suddenly is cold as f... here in Lisbon.
Still enjoying the hell out of FC New Dawn.
The setting is so cool to look at and given that i finished FC 5 right before, its realyl cool to revisit all those locations.
It happens a lot finding myself in some place and realizing "this is dat place where i did dat thing!!" Its really cool.
I´ll say this again, Ubisoft should make an open world rpg like Fallout. Imagine a game with the rpg mechanics of New Vegas or The Outer Worlds but also with the FC great shooting gameplay.
It would be a perfect match because, whenever i play a FC game, despite always having a blast i also keep thinkign that its all very superficial and it would be great to have a dialogue system with decisions and all those rpg shenanigans.
On a diferent note, if i was to finish New Dawn today, i´d be starting Styx, which its on my backlog for many years but suddenly i felt a huge itch to finally play it.
ITs been a very long time since i played a proper stealth game.

Thinking about replaying Death Stranding once the PS5 version is available. Between that and Diablo, I should be sorted the rest of the year....with my attention span, maybe not
Morning all
Im not starting to get bored of New Dawn but the last 3 days i havent progressed the story as i just explored the map, liberated outposts and did side missions. My ocd got the best of me and im getting a bit tired now.
I think i´ll speed up my progress tonight as my next story mission is going to Eden´s Gate and im really curious to see whats going on in there. Is my FC5 character still alive? That would be nice.
Im also with a gigantic itch to play Styx. I hate to get this itches because by the time i get to start playing it the itch is usually long gone and replaced by another.
Im also hawing Saitns Row 3 Remastered because it just looks so fun.

I think it was actually SR IV that I tried (aliens/mega jumps). It was all just a bit much. If 3 is a bit more grounded I would probably like it.

Yeah, agree about SR IV, it did nothing for me either. It's like they took all the bad ideas in the series and tried to make a game of it. I'll probably be adopting a wait and see approach for the new one, largely because I'm a bit wary after IV

Been a long time since I've heard that phrase. I gave up even checking on Amazon for games prices over the past few years because they weren't even trying to be competitive.
