And the plat for FH5 is a haven't a hope for me. Gave the Eliminator a go, thinking it was a race where the last placed driver gets eliminated....but no it's a ridiculous attempt to squeeze a battle royale type into a driving game....came 48th out of 50, partly due to crapiness from me and part down to zero explanation. Not something I'm likely to win, even on a good day, and one I'm even less likely to attempt. Still plan on messing about for a while but not much motivation for the other remaining trophies now

Yes, that's the plat killer and the only reason its a 7/10 difficulty plat.That's the main reason I won't get the plat but also the sheer scale of doing everything else. Its just too much really. I'm going to be playing this as main game but I think soon it'll be more of a side game I chip away at when I don't want to get stuck into a story or anything too meaty.
I keep getting a notification that I can progress the Horizon story but the map is so cluttered with stuff, I've no idea how to do it.
I forgot to say I came 24th out of 48 in the only Elininator I've tried, and that was using the crappy starting car for the whole thing.I read up a bit on what the Eliminator was so wasn't going in completely blind but even then, I couldn't find any other cars to upgrade too. When I eventually did, there were two other players swarming around and one of them got it. Shortly after that, the finish line appeared and then its just a flat out race.
For that you just want to drive in as straight a line as possible, don't follow the suggested route. The trophy is annoying but its luck based more than anything. You need luck in finding a decent car (4x4's are the best for the 'as the crow flies' dash at the end), and being close or closest to the finish line when it appears.
I really wish it had been a DLC trophy. There's a stupid amount of DLC trophies as it is, so a shame this wasn't one too. Its silly I know, but as much as try and tell myself it doesn't matter, this trophy and knowing it effectively kills the plat has taken a good bit of shine off the game.
what comes after lvl 199....lvl 1....Seems a bit weird to me.Yeah, I'd started near one of the other players in the Eliminator, only they'd managed to find a rally car, so I didn't have a hope. Not a fan of battle royales in general and it's not going to change my mind
Ping! Oblivion Remastered. Apart from some performance issues and the occasional expected Elder Scrolls bugs and glitches, thoroughly enjoyed replaying it. Not touched the Shivering Isles dlc yet, I'll leave it for now, and it'll give me an excuse to replay again at some point.
Have a feeling I'm not going to be able to settle on anything for a while....

I think you have to remember Oblivion is nearly 20 years old R, definitely has its rough edges but still one of the greats for me

I managed a 6th place finish in an FH5 Eliminator last night. Out of 40+ starters, I thought that was decent. By the time it came to make the final dash to the finish line, there were only 11 players left. I think this is doable but not sure how much time I want to put into trying, especially as some of the other trophies look horrible too. I think for now, my plan is just to try and get a respectable trophy completion percentage. This is made difficult because of all the DLC and I'm currently sat at around 13%.Sometimes, I really, really hate trophies.
I've 80 out of the 165 FH5 trophies but no desire to hunt any more. Could probably knock off a good few more, but as soon as it became apparent the plat was going to be too much of a pain, I lost a lot of interest. Going to keep it installed and have a race here and there but no plans to even look at the trophies again.
The PS+ games for May are pretty ridiculous....that said, I've been close to pulling the trigger on Boltgun a few times
I had a look at which FH5 trophies you had Deck. 50% is very good going although I'm guessing some of those are the Hotwheels and Rally ones. I'll get to them at some point too.I like the look of Boltgun but it has no plat. If a game doesn't have a plat, is there even any point in playing it? ;)

I've still got most of Doom Eternal to play, even the first couple of missions required more energy than I can muster, so The Dark Ages is a no.....at full price anyway, might pick it up cheap at some point
Ping! Unicorn Overlord. Enjoyed it. One of those that has a weirdly high plat rate. Not that it's overly difficult, but 50 hours is a bit much for the type of game....or maybe not, since I'm now downloading the PS4 version for another 50 hour ping ;)
Gears of War is coming to PS5? I seem to remember some ridiculous achievements in the original, so probably not one for the plat attempt, but I'll happily replay it
Yeah its not too far away either. I played Gears 2 & 3 on the Xbox 360 and thought both were excellent. I never played the first game but always heard good thing. As far as I know the achievement list for it was as bad and MP stacked as it was for the 2 games I played.This'll be enough to put me off it after the FH5 experience was soured by a chronic trophy list.

I'm in danger of hitting one of those blips with gaming where I lose my love for it and go on a month long plus hiatus.I'm enjoying FH5 but because of the trophies, it almost feels like I'm wasting my time playing. I had another go at the Eliminator over the weekend. After a couple of matches where I got knocked out in head to heads early on, I managed a finish of 7th out 56. This trophy is 40% skill based and 60% luck. I've split the trophies in two now. Ones I'll go for that are straight foward to improve my completion percentage and then some that look a pain or grind that I'll only go for, if by some miracle I do the Eliminator.
I also did a few more missions on The Division 2 New York DLC.
Yeah, I think I'm at the point in FH5 where I've got all I'm going to, and it's likely to be deleted sooner rather than later. There are a few more trophies I could attempt, but I think I've had my fill, and it's time to move on

I've read that Doom: The Dark Ages is slower and more grounded (literally) than the 2016 or Eternal. I gather from that its also less frustrating to play so defo worth a try on Gamepass I reckon.With no difficulty or MP related trophies, it could be an easy-ish plat?
The Dark Ages looks good, but there's no way I'm paying £70 for it. Definitely give it a go at some point but not in the near future Watched a gameplay trailer for Mafia The Old Country...not convinced by it, doesn't look much fun gameplay wise
I won't consider Mafia: The Old Country until I finally get round to Mafia: Definitive Edition. However, I keep putting that because I've heard terrible things about the mandatory racing section with awful racing mechanics.

I've read that Mafia: The Old Country isn't open world like the other games. I think this is a good thing as the cities looked good in the previous games but there wasn't a lot to do. They'll be able to focus more on the story and missions.

Yeah it'll be a sale game for me definitely. From memory Mafia 2 was open world although it must be 13 years or more since I played it. I think it was my 3rd or 4th plat actually back on the PS3.PowerPyx has released his Doom: The Dark Ages trophy guide and has given it a 2.5/10 plat difficulty. I'll add this to my pick up in a sale list ;)
I've returned to Elden Ring for a while I think. Partly because I'm not sure Nightreign at the end of the month will be for me. Sounds very coop and time constraints, I'll take a gamble on it, but doesn't sound like one I'll be sticking 700 hours into
I've seen games rated 2/3 out of 10 for difficulty still cause me a major pain, so I'll not hold my breath. Am a bit more tempted to pick up The Dark Ages earlier though. I think I'm just passing the time until Death Stranding 2, so could do with something to fill the void

After picking up another copy of Tomb Raider (2013) on PS3 last week, I joined a PSNP session last night and got all the MP trophies done, except the two relating to getting to level 60. I'm going to have a look at how much of a grind that is and if its not too bad, I'll try and get that done.Then I'll replay the SP and maybe try and get another long lost 'plat from the dead'. I really enjoyed this game when it came out and in some ways, thought it was better than Uncharted.
I think Covid is rearing its ugly head here again. Feel like crap. Then again, maybe it's just extreme hay-fever from too much Lawn Mowing Sim ;)
I think while I'm not really in the mood for anything, I'll try and polish off the Veilguard plat. Might get bored of that though, so not holding my breath
Played a bit more Tomb Raider last night with some guy from Portugal, doing some level boosting. I went from level 17 to 26 in about an hour.Talking of guys from Portugal, where's Glass?

I'm ridiculously addicted to Days Gone again with the ps5 version.The ps4 version (via backwards compat) was the first game i played on my ps5 back in 2022 - played it to platinum over about 80 hours, and now the (£10 upgrade) ps5 version has got me hooked again.
It's hardly different to the ps4 version to my eyes, apart from the lighting when it's dark - so flashlights/the bikes headlight/exterior lighting at nighttime - that stuff is a great upgrade from the ps4 version. I have a better TV now than I did then too, with hdmi 2.1, 120hz in game mode, VRR and all that - and the game was patched yesterday to take advantage of all that.
Just a great game though. So much fun taking down the freaks :)
Ping! Dragon Age The Veilguard. Wasted 10 hours on a new game before I found out there was a way to max out the last faction in my original save.....done in less than an hour, when I was probably looking at another 10 if I'd continued as I was. Happy it's out of the way, never to be seen again
And must be feeling a bit masochistic as I've reinstalled Titanfall 2 to attempt the ...becomes the master trophy. Plan is to keep it installed and give it a blast 10 or 20 mins a day, so I don't drive myself (too) crazy
Good luck Deck. I'll go back to that one day too, although I think its just beyond me. Having said that, I've not tried the PowerPyx method where he grabs a secret weapon before starting. Might be worth a look if you've not already seen that.I tried the method an ex-YTer called StayPationt did a video on. If you split the run into 4 distinct sections, I can do the first two well but get flustered/panicked and just lose it on the 3rd.
I played a bit more of The Division 2 DLC last night. I think I'm getting towards the end of that and will then delete the game once done. I was going to try and do the 8 player raids for the 100% but trying to synch with 7 randoms isn't something I fancy.

Very good picture, all the gaming features the ps5/series x can take advantage of; it has a direct-lit IPS panel, so not the best contrast but very vibrant colours and good viewing angles and all that. If it starts getting jittery a quick power cycle at the wall socket sorts it out.
But when I played Days Gone in 2022 it was on the more basic Samsung Crystal LED, basically Samsung's entry-level TV from about 2020, no gaming features apart from ALLM.
I've tried the secret weapon tactic but there's not much difference between it and the grenades, and requires more precision on single targets than the shotgun, so even swapping between the three i don't think it makes a big difference.Then again, i can't even reach the finish in time ignoring the enemies, let alone killing 15 of them, so reckon I've no hope no matter what I do. I lose speed in too many sections
Must be in a pew-pew kind of mood, as I've reinstalled Tina Turners Assault on Dragon Keep. Equinox claims it's Simply the Best, but from what I've played I can't say I found it to be better than all the rest ;)
I think I probably meant its the best Borderlands 2 DLC (which its a standalone version of). I'm sticking by that too ;) Certainly better than the Torgue DLCAlso, isn't it about time they did a PS5 version of Borderlands 2?
Attempted humour aside ;) Spent the past few hours replaying Bulletstorm. I definitely dont play as many FPS these days, but it and Titanfall 2 are still great fun, more than a lot I've tried to get into, and I'd definitely pick up sequels to them
I skim read your last post Deck and didn't see Tina Turner's...The rest of it makes more sense now.
