Progress in Veilguard is a bit stop/start. It just seems to be companion stuff after companion stuff at the minute. Just when you think you are done, another icon appears in the lighthouse. On top of that, the combat is getting a bit more annoying for my mage, though that's partly down to my laziness. May as well stick with it to the end though (still a fair bit to go but it's in sight).

And they do the usual daft - we have to hurry....then 2 seconds later someone wants to go for a stroll in the forest for no apparent reason....kind of lost the sense of urgency there developers

I’ve done all companion quests now and seemingly all faction and region quests as I have maximum allegiance with all regions so next for me is completing the main story. I think I’m probably going to be 4-5 trophies short of the plat but I’m not going to artificially extend the game searching for collectibles. Maybe if they were trackable but the collectibles I need are not.

I've made a start on High on Life and its pretty good. The humour isn't fully my thing but funny enough for the most part. I can see it getting a little grating if played for too long so will try and limit it to short bursts.
There are 8 missable trophies which is a bit annoying so I'm keeping a close eye on those as I know I won't want to replay it.
I'm hoping to get this and Deliver Us The Moon/Mars boxed off before FH5 next month. As well as possibly chipping away at 1 or 2 PS3 games.

The character related trophies are starting to pop though, so I think I'm through the worst of it. There's a couple of trophies I may have to look up, but i reckon I'm on track just by playing the way I usually do, not expecting much of a mop up needed

Think I've messed up somewhere. Looks like I'll need a second playthrough for the plat. At the point of no return now but didn't get one of the faction related trophies, which will lock me out of an ending as well, I think.
Just ploughed through to the end in Veilguard and yeah, annoyingly one trophy short. And to get that one, I'd have to play 3/4 of the game (if not more) to get it. Maybe one day.Overall not bad, but didn't really feel very Dragon Agey to me, despite having all the ingredients. And if I do play again, it won't be as a mage, was a little frustrating at times. No idea whether either of the other 2 are any better though
Kind of tempted to try and fly through a second playthrough of Veilguard, skipping everything, to get the plat out of the way.Alternatively, I'm tempted to haw Atomfall or The First Berserker: Khazan. Likely start a 2nd Veilguard playthrough, get bored, and end up playing something not on the list. Picked up the VR mode for Hitman World of Assassination, so will likely give that a go over the weekend too
Changed my mind already about a 2nd playthrough. Reckon it'd be on I'd make a mess of rushing through and be forced to do a 3rd, knowing my luck. I'll leave it and replay properly at some point....and uninstall it so I don't do something daft
Picked up Atomfall....10 minutes in, game crashes...not a good sign. Probably wait for a few patches before getting stuck in properly. Has a budget game feel, but one that could be fun.Sooo...picked up The First Berserker as well lol. Like what I've seen early on, looks like another decent quality soulslike, so probably of limited interest here
Very early days but I'm a fan of The First Berserker: Khazan. Reminds me of the first time I'd played Nioh
.....but of course I'm in the mood for something more laid back before I get stuck in, so looking for something else, preferably that I already own or dirt cheap

I'd give Veilguard a 7.5/10, maybe even 7.6 ;) Definitely not as bad as I'd feared, it's probably closest to DA2 for me, and how many years ago was that. The only thing that they've really taken forward is the visuals. Worth a play, yes probably, but not gonna feature in my top 500 games, let alone top 5. Still feel like I've unfinished business with that one trophy left, so think I'll probably will replay and get it out of the way before getting stuck into The First Berserker Khazan

Though thinking about it, I probably did have slightly more fun playing Lawn Mower Simulator, so 7.7 sounds about right ;)
And deleted Veilguard again, just can't find the motivation for a 2nd playthrough. Leave it a year or two and might come back for the plat

The 10 minutes I'd played of Atomfall before it crashed, it was very light on the survival side (in fact im not sure why they decided to tack that description on, though maybe it depends on what difficulty you pick).
Limited ammo doesn't mean much when you are running about with a cricket bat ;)
There's a trophy to complete in under 5 hours in Atomfall, so it must be pretty short for its type. Was going to wait for a patch or two before getting stuck in, but if it's not a long game, I might put up with a crash or two

Got the urge to replay RDR or RDR2. Well, I say replay RDR, but pretty sure I never got around to finishing it. Seem to remember one annoying mission that I lost all enthusiasm to continue after
I finished the story in High on Life last night, ticking off the last of the missable trophies. Its a pretty good game but some of the 'wise cracking' can be a bit much. There were a few instances where 3 or 4 characters are talking at once and it becomes an undecipherable mess.I'm going to put it to one side and start Deliver Us Mars tonight or tomorrow and hopefully finish or get mostly done over the weekend.
I have no idea what to play next. Been playing a bit of Nier: Replicant on the side, but I've been doing that for year now.

Only played about an hour of Atomfall but yeah, that was the feeling i was getting as well. Definitely rough around the edges AA budget quality, but not in a bad way. Been replaying FF12 for some reason, and enjoying it. Seems to be one the PSSR, or whatever it's called, makes a bit of a difference, as it looks better than I remember
Last night I found a YT guide for Deliver Us Mars, ready to start a platinum playthrough. But in the end, I just couldn't face it so shut my laptop down quickly. It just feels like too much of a chore. I've got trophy hunting/gaming in general burnout so I'm going to only take on 'light duties' between now and FH5.This will probably just consist of me trying to clean up High on Life if I can be bothered. But a nice break should hopefully have me fresh to dive into FH5 in a few weeks.
I was also putting a few hours into Atomfall and finding it mostly fine. Then, I remembered that I have Death Stranding sitting around and started that up. What an utterly fascinating game. I'm all about putting some serious hours into this one. I had a very hard time putting it down...BT's, BB, Hardman, Heartman, Deadman. The Kojima nonsense doesn't seem to bother me here.
I'm running out of steam a little in my not so Final Fantasy XII replay. Which is strange, I've never been to a sauna in my life and tend to stir-fry my veg, so I'd thought I'd have plenty ;) I'll stick with it though, getting relatively close to the end and not much else is catching the eye at the minute.

I've got into a bad habit of buying games on release, then only start playing them months later. Death Stranding 2 I'll deffo be playing day 1. The first game is among my favs of the PS4/5 era
Sweet. My recollection of the original Death Stranding release was that a lot of people just didn't get it - boring package delivery simulator with a bizarre and incomprehensible story.I mean, it is those things. But the world also makes sense to me and I'm excited to learn more about it while being a good little postman.
I've reached the point of no return in Final Fantasy 12 The Zodiac Age, so don't know whether to attempt the more pain in the arse trophies, or just polish it off and move on. Still, definitely one of the better FF for me, and holds up well
Ploughed through to the end but....don't remember it having a NG+, either in the originalor when id last played...might have to look to see if it that makes a possible plat attempt easier or more difficult
......I reckon I'm going to stick another 60 odd hours into FF12. Not got a trophy in it since 2017, but apart from one trophy that looks a chore and another that looks down to luck, NG+ looks too tempting for the remaining trophies and far less a chore than grinding. And I reckon nothing else is likely to appeal until Forza Horizon 5 and Days Gone remastered later in the month, so unless that changes, The Zodiac Age is probably sticking
Ping! High on LifeHi all. I've been quite ill again so not done much gaming (or much of anything) of late. I felt more human yesterday so decided to go for the final push on this. Its quite an enjoyable game but doing the challenges was a bit of a pain and the tracking of them was a bit glitchy. I was toying with the idea of buying the DLC but I think I've had my fill.
I'm not sure what I'll do between now and FH5. I downloaded Rise of The Tomb Raider before deleting it again. I might do the same with The Division 2 tonight haha

I was a relative latecomer to the Amazon UK forum in 2011, aged 31.I hope you enjoy retirement R and I'm not in anyway jealous at all ;). Have you got any plans for things like travelling?
I'm 45 now and think I'll be carrying on for another 20 years or so 😬. I don't mind my job so much these days and it's much better than the one I had when I first started posting but its hard to think of doing it for another two decades.
I feel a hawing coming on...partly because you've depressed me with talk of retirement ;) Looking for something cheap and cheerful to tide me over, the FF12 ng+ run is going fine, just a bit too much too soon

No real plans for lots of travel. My missus will still be working but I’ll do my usual holiday abroad each year and maybe even expand it to two. I’m just glad to be rid of the stress and the last nearly six years I’ve been working from home most days so really want to get out of the house more. My job requires some long hours so it’s not always been easy to get out and about as much as I’d like. No doubt I’ll do a little more gaming but I don’t want to game like Deckard 😉. Oh and we’re getting a dog.
I'm downloading The Division 2 today to potentially play tonight and have downloaded Resogun to have another crack at. I can't say I'm desperate to play either but I'm a bit lost until FH5 appears.

The Pro seems to be coming into its own more now. I couldn't see much point in it at launch given the minimal improvements v cost but there seem to be more and more games now with greater differences in performance.

Still chipping away at FF12. Think by the weekend I'll have a fair idea of whether I'll be platting it or not. Picked up Citizen Sleeper and Promise Mascot Agency if I need a change of pace
8 years since my last Final Fantasy 12 trophy....might be another 8 before the next. One side boss took over 40 minutes, at nearly max level, and he's not even the toughest...
