Equinox80 | 664 comments I've really struggled to do any gaming this week. I was intent on completing SE3 on authentic difficulty (the main plat buster trophy), I'd assumed the remaining trophies would be a breeze. However, there are still a few tough ones left and I can't find the motivation to get them out of the way.

DeckardCain's Sandals (deckardcainssandals) | 2105 comments Lies of P seems to be doing the job for now. I'll probably not get any further than I did last time, but enjoying a mindless grind of beating up the weaklings ;)

DeckardCain's Sandals (deckardcainssandals) | 2105 comments Those 6 words everybody longs to hear.....Lawn Mowing Simulator ready to play. Think I'll continue with it alongside Lies of P

message 5104: by Equinox80 (new)

Equinox80 | 664 comments About all I managed to do last night was download Fantasy Tower Defence, High on Life and SW Jedi Survivor. I'll likely play them in that order once I finally do the final push on SE3.

However I may bump Mafia Def Edition up the list as I'm more in the mood for that kind of thing than sci fi atm. Plus its been in my backlog for 5 years almost.

Lawn mowing simulator. You’ll be playing Scraping the Barrel next ;p.

DeckardCain's Sandals (deckardcainssandals) | 2105 comments Hey now, you don't see me making fun of people playing Everybody's Gone to the Rapture or Mass Effect Andromeda....wait a minute....;)

message 5107: by Equinox80 (new)

Equinox80 | 664 comments I want to play Everybody's Gone to the Rapture

DeckardCain's Sandals (deckardcainssandals) | 2105 comments Funny I've been having trouble sleeping too ;)

Equinox80 | 664 comments I had it and Virginia ready to go on my old PS4 before I had to retire it. They might be tonights downloads ;)

Equinox80 | 664 comments Apparently work has started on Space Marine 3

DeckardCain's Sandals (deckardcainssandals) | 2105 comments Praise the omnissiah! Strange to see a follow up getting the green light so quickly these days. Must have sold decently

message 5112: by Equinox80 (new)

Equinox80 | 664 comments Yeah it sold something like 4+ million in the first few weeks.

I hope they're still going to do horde mode for SM2, and ideally add extra trophies.

DeckardCain's Sandals (deckardcainssandals) | 2105 comments Which reminds me, I've still trophies to knock out for it. Last time I was motivated, PSN had its minor 24-hour outage that probably wasn't playstations fault, and merely a mass hallucination ;)

DeckardCain's Sandals (deckardcainssandals) | 2105 comments Been playing a mix of Redacted and Dynasty Warriors Origins rather than Lies of P. On the fence as to whether to attempt the Redacted plat. There's still a couple of trophies that look a bit too frustrating for my liking but still having a blast with it, so you never know.

Probably go back to Lies of P during the week and leave Dynasty Warriors to the weekend, likely one I'd get sick of if I did too much at once, and was enjoying playing Lies of P again

DeckardCain's Sandals (deckardcainssandals) | 2105 comments That said, I think the Darkest Dungeon 2 DLC is dropping at some point today, so might get back into that

message 5116: by Equinox80 (last edited Mar 18, 2025 05:55AM) (new)

Equinox80 | 664 comments I've been soldiering on with Sniper Elite 3. I'd been putting off some of the awkward sounding trophies after getting the main plat buster out of the way. These were mainly for sneaking through levels without being seen but I needn't have put them off because they were easy in the end. Mainly because you can create manual saves and effectively create your own checkpoints. So I did that every few mins and on the few occasions I was spotted, I just reloaded my last save.

Mopped up all outstanding collectibles last night so there's light at the end of the tunnel now.

Phil, psn: p4tiny | 197 comments I've been dabbling with Crysis 3 remastered - I know it's not a long game so just 45 mins here and there and it shouldn't take too long. I needed something lighter (in terms of time sink) after 108 hours on AC Odyssey and then 3 back-to-back-to-back runs of Silent Hill 2 remake (for the plat).

Got to say, Crysis 3 remastered is mighty pretty for a remastered ps3 game, and runs at a buttery and solid 60fps on ps5.

DeckardCain's Sandals (deckardcainssandals) | 2105 comments Ping! [Redacted]. Wouldn't you know the last trophy was one I didn't expect to have much trouble with, but took quite a few attempts. Definitely enjoyed it though, could go some more

message 5119: by Equinox80 (new)

Equinox80 | 664 comments Ping! Sniper Elite 3

I've finally got this one over the line. My second ultra rare, clean up plat on the bounce. I first played this game 6 years ago and it always irked that I failed at it miserably. Now I'm proud to have got this done.

I saw Deliver Us Mars is leaving PS+ in April so I might give this a go very soon.

DeckardCain's Sandals (deckardcainssandals) | 2105 comments Gave Circuit Superstars a quick go last night, and it seems like a fun wee drive, kind of similar to Super Woden GP 2 but .... the trophy list is not so much fun. Not one I'll be looking to plat

message 5121: by Equinox80 (new)

Equinox80 | 664 comments Hey Deck. I've not heard of that game but might give it a look. I liked Super Woden GP 2.

DeckardCain's Sandals (deckardcainssandals) | 2105 comments 6 of the trophies are online, though, and require winning (25 wins & 25 pole positions). Type of game I reckon it would be hard to get a race, never mind wins. Not tried the online though, so might be ok

message 5123: by Equinox80 (new)

Equinox80 | 664 comments How much is the game? We could boost it

DeckardCain's Sandals (deckardcainssandals) | 2105 comments Might want to hang on....Petrolhead trophy....50000km....so further than Grid's Around the Globe trophy? Fun game, but not worth a lifetime commitment ;)

message 5125: by Equinox80 (new)

Equinox80 | 664 comments Ah thanks for the warning. I don't fancy that grind.

DeckardCain's Sandals (deckardcainssandals) | 2105 comments Yeah, I'll try and knock out the career, but then move on. If the trophies are anything to go by, you don't even hit the 2015km trophy by the end of the career, so no thanks

message 5127: by Equinox80 (new)

Equinox80 | 664 comments I might start Fantasy Tower Defence tonight. Do you have any tips?

DeckardCain's Sandals (deckardcainssandals) | 2105 comments Not that I can think of. Apart from the last mission, it was pretty straightforward

message 5129: by Equinox80 (new)

Equinox80 | 664 comments Cheers mate. I'm hoping its a bit of a breeze after the last two games I've played.

DeckardCain's Sandals (deckardcainssandals) | 2105 comments Only a couple of events left in Circuit Superstars and yeah, it's definitely a fun wee game but....those mileage trophies look like the stuff of nightmares. Think I'd rather go back to my Grid attempt than go near them. I reckon the developers picked numbers at random without considering how long it would actually take. I'll finish off the last few, then move on

DeckardCain's Sandals (deckardcainssandals) | 2105 comments Was half tempted to go back to Grid...for a couple of minutes. The cloud save has vanished, and since it'd be the first time playing on the Pro, the odometer would be back at zero. Think that's the final nail in the coffin for that plat attempt

message 5132: by Error (new)

Error | 408 comments I'm finding my way to the end of Avowed. I'm in what I believe is the last region with half the map still covered up. I'm level 24 out of the level 30 cap. Exploration and combat are definitely this game's strengths. I have not gotten even a little bit bored of freezing monsters with blizzard, shattering them with my poison dagger, and hunting for out of the way treasure chests. 55 hours and counting...I could possibly finish up this weekend.

DeckardCain's Sandals (deckardcainssandals) | 2105 comments Got to the final boss in Darkest Dungeon 2. Started badly and went downhill from there ;) Did manage to get him to the 3rd phase, but he's a tonne of health and I wasn't doing much damage. Likely some gimmick to help, so may have to look up some strategies if I fail a load more times. Not given the free Kingdoms mode a go yet. Looking suspiciously like it's going to hook me for another 100 hours.

And finished off the last few events in Circuit Superstars. Yeah, I reckon by the end I've done 1500km maximum, definitely under 2000. So even if I completed the career another 25 times I'd still be short, and one of those took about 8 hours

message 5134: by Equinox80 (new)

Equinox80 | 664 comments Ping! Fantasy Tower Defence.

A nice, short, enjoyable little game and well worth the 57p I shelled out for it.

I must admit, it did take me until nearly the end of the game to realise that the freeze, fire and poison spells didn't cost money. Thing like that in tower defence games usually cost money and there's a trade off in buying them for a quick fix and thinking more long term with towers and upgrading them.

But at least having that knowledge by the time I got to the last level meant it only took me 3 attempts and no YT guide ;)

DeckardCain's Sandals (deckardcainssandals) | 2105 comments Might have picked up Bleach...toilet was looking a little grubby ;) As anime related games go, it seems like a decent effort. They seem to have put effort into recreating the story early on at least, and it seems like a serviceable fighter too. See how it goes, but early on, no complaints

DeckardCain's Sandals (deckardcainssandals) | 2105 comments OK maybe the fighting is a wee bit clunky, and the story cuts out stuff that probably isn't necessary but would have been nice, not sure I'd recommend it as a fighter but for a fan of the source material it's probably worth a look.....so likely of no interest of anyone here ;)

DeckardCain's Sandals (deckardcainssandals) | 2105 comments Weird question...but is it worth subbing to Disney+ if you've a mostly irrational dislike of Disney, sick of Marvel, and lost interest in Star Wars over the years?....no wait I think I've answered myself

I subscribe to Disney plus but only because I get it for free. It’s my least watched subscription - I’m not into superhero or the modern Star Wars stuff. It does have a few decent movies depending on what you like. Best quality exclusive TV/Movies - for me - is Apple TV+. And I’ve never paid a penny for that either, yet.

DeckardCain's Sandals (deckardcainssandals) | 2105 comments I've an even more irrational dislike of Apple...or is it rational and I'm the only sane one ;)

message 5140: by Equinox80 (new)

Equinox80 | 664 comments I've got Disney+ but don't use it that much. Its good the Disney Pixar stuff for my lad.

I'm mainly using it for Daredevil Born Again although this isn't quite up to the previous 3 series that were on Netflix.

The modern Star Wars stuff is generally crap apart from Andor which is coming back for a second season soon.

Apple TV is worth it for Slow Horses alone. I need to give Severance ago too.

On Apple TV I’ve really enjoyed.

TV Series;
Severance
Silo
Slow Horses
Invasion
Dark Matter
The Morning Show

And it has other popular shows I haven’t watched; Ted Lasso, Foundation, Shrinking, Servant.

Movies wise I’ve enjoyed:
The Gorge
Wolfs
Killers of the flower moon
Napoleon
Finch
Tetris
CODA
Palmer
Sharper
Causeway
Swan Song
The Instigators

I really rate Apple TV plus but new stuff is more of a trickle - it’s got a good back catalogue - so only worth subbing a month or so at a time.

If you have Disney Plus I recommend the movie ‘No One Will Save You’ if you haven’t seen it already. Plus Alien Romulus is on there now too - wasn’t bad. The Menu is good too, and Poor Things (just don’t watch it with your family lol).

Gaming wise I’m totally hooked by Dragon Age TVG. I’m even doing all of the faction and companion quests. The world they’ve created is so big, varied, gorgeous, atmospheric, absorbing and I love exploring it. I think it could be one of my favourite games of all time. It reminds me a little of God of War but with the big RPG elements and otherwise better. The graphics alone are perhaps the best I’ve seen on console (PS5 Pro). It even beats Avowed for enjoyment for me at least. Happy to play it until I’ve exhausted all quests and I’m usually a stick to the main campaign kinda gamer.

DeckardCain's Sandals (deckardcainssandals) | 2105 comments You're a decent salesman R, you've me tempted to give Veilguard another chance. Don't remember it being that visually impressive, decent but nothing special.

Probably needs a good 10 hours plus to fully open up but I’m doing so many varied missions in very different areas that it never gets boring. The necromancer companion missions are good. The puzzles and areas you open up to fight more and bigger bosses is good too so not everything is mission based, some really good stuff is hidden behind exploration and solving how you get access. There is so much enticing you to investigate to experience even more. The ‘crime investigation’ missions are a bit sheet but it is the only boring mission type and it mostly associated with one of the companions. It’s one of the best graphical games I’ve seen but it’s not head shoulders the best but it’s up there.

DeckardCain's Sandals (deckardcainssandals) | 2105 comments Was starting to get into Veilguard a little bit more. Feels like Dragon Age 2, with a bit of Inquisition thrown in. Not bad, but I'd still take a remaster of Origins any day of the week. I'll likely stick with it for now, at least until something else catches my eye

DeckardCain's Sandals (deckardcainssandals) | 2105 comments Made a bit of a dent in Veilguard. Not as big a fan of it as R, but no real complaints. Can see why they didn't add fall damage, lost count of how many times I've fallen in water or from a height due to the jumping. And being a mage type can be a bit of a chore, your mana regeneration is a bit rubbish. Fire off one big spell, then mindlessly mash square for ages, repeat. OK, maybe a few complaints ;)

I’m at the point of no return in the Dragon Age campaign. I’m going to do a few more side quests first - still a fair few exclamation marks dotted around on various maps - but all companion quests are done and no faction quest currently available. Combat wise I love the variety as I can get my companions to do a lot of the work and I like to use my special abilities which are recharging quite quickly with a bit of throwing my shield in between and of course a bit of sword play. Playing as warrior.

It’s not a perfect game but i find the world very atmospheric and immersive. Not had much need to spend money, seems a bit pointless.

Error | 408 comments Wow, I just finished Avowed and R is already finishing off another big RPG. We started Avowed at the same time.

Anyway excellent game. Fantastic combat, exploration, and companions. I put in 64hrs and think it was time well spent. 8.5/10

I’ve nearly done every quest available in Dragon Age in the time you’ve been playing one little game Error. 😉. 34 hours and counting. I really enjoyed Avowed but I’m enjoying Dragon Age so much I want to see everything. Not even going for the plat, just want to 100% all regions because the game has its hooks in me. Probably still got a good 10+ hours to go if not more.
