First thing I did when ithe server was back up. Old PS5 was still set as primary, so changed it to the Pro. Then again. I seem to remember the last time there was an outage, it didn't make a heap load of difference, there were still a load of games it just wouldn't let me play.

Made a start on the PS4 version of Aloy: Squirrel Hunter 2 (I think it's also known as Forbidden West in some regions) and got as far as meeting the kryptionians (note - bad guys may look like stereotypical villians from superman, but may not actually be from Krypton, only the developers know for sure) for the first time, and that crappy boss type fight has put me off continuing a little. Visually, it's not as bad as I remember, but yeah think once something else appears, I'll be leaving it for now.
I think I'd originally thought Forbidden West was generally an improvement over Zero Dawn, but playing it for a second time, story wise, it's a bit on the daft side

Next I’m really not sure. It’s one of Avowed (out in around a week), Stalker 2 and a replay of Horizon Zero Dawn. It’s all about XBox at the moment.
And my missus has turned into a bit of a gamer since she has access to my old PS5. She loved the two God of War games. She finished them both. She really didn’t like Uncharted 4 and gave up on it after 6 hours - said it was too slow with all the long cut-scenes. Now she’s playing Plague Tale Requiem which she likes - says it’s more tactical. I won’t suggest she tries Metal Gear Solid lol.
I'd have thought God of War and Uncharted would be considered similar in terms of dullness...cough...pacing, I mean, always get those two mixed up ;)

I've turned my PS3 on again this weekend. I haven't done a fat lot of much with it, just playing a couple of games still on the HDD including an old Grid game.
Think I'm going to give up the Forbidden West replay for now. Don't think I've the patience at the minute for some of the more annoying enemies
Well this was something to "walk" in on lol. I'm new here, so I don't really know anything about the previous anything, but I'm playing Tears of the Kingdom at the moment so yeah...

I've played a bit of Mario Kart on the Switch if that counts?
Getting pretty fed up with Forbidden West now. Might have to check what trophies can be done post story and just plough on though with it, and come back some other time to mop up. The PS4 version is definitely glitchier. A few side missions I've had to reload multiple times before the npc would get in the position to talk, one of the rope slides Aloy refused to grab on to, so fell 6 or 7 times before she managed it, and lots of other minor irritations all adding up. And I've still not forgiven Nintendo for the Wii U ;)
I don't think Nintendo have forgiven themselves for the WiiU. Or the Virtual Boy.

I used to have a GameCube but the only thing I really properly played on it was Resident Evil 4. I also dabbled with NFS Carbon.
And I have played a ton of MK64 many years ago.
Ping! (last night) Silent Hill 2 remake.It took seeing the credits 6 times to plat it, but only really had to play through 3 times and then make a separate save right near the end and just replay the last section in a couple of different ways to see all the endings.
Very good game, my first Silent Hill experience, not as good/fun to play as the Dead Space franchise nor the recent Resi remakes imo, but a much better story than those - actually really harrowing story.
Just a shame about the performance (as I said before) - the graphics etc are perfectly fine but no better than a late ps4/X1 game, and then the performance on ps5 is just patchy. Mostly it's fine but then it can slow to be quite juddery and I just don't get it, because it can't be too technically demanding on the machine, the ps5 can run much more complex games with more going on, on screen, much smoother. I guess Blooper just didn't optimise it that great.
I just here to put in a plug for Lonely Mountain: Snow Riders. I tried it recently on a whim (and because the snow is knee high in my town). What an absolute blast! I guess it is a lot like their downhill biking game, which I did not play. I found the physics to be great, sense of speed palpable, and the numerous crashes (not software) hilarious.It hooked me instantly. Pick up and play fun for anyone. Give it a shot.

What are folks thinking of Sony's worst-kept secret - the official ps5 remaster of Day's Gone? Due to launch this April.Very much in the vein of TLoU2 remaster, a £10/$10 upgrade for those who own the ps4 version (not the ps+ 'free' edition though) and I imagine the full £60/$60 or whatever for those who don't.
The ps4 version of the game already looks and runs so well on ps5 anyway, full 60fps etc. etc. (like TLoU2) so I don't think the remaster will be much of a meaningful improvement - apart from quicker loading times (like TLoU2).
I'll probably still be a sucker and upgrade though lol.

I think with those games Sony could just clean them up a little (just fix any glitches, slightly clean up the worst of the jaggies etc.) and just make them run at 60fps and that's it - job done. I'm thinking Mass Effect Legendary edition or the recent The Thing videogame etc. There doesn't need to be a full-blown remake every time, just a basic remaster and everyone would be happy.
Yeah, count me in for Killzone and Resistance remakes or remasters. And Motorstorm too.I've half been expecting a Days Gone remaster. If I've bought it digitally, I'll probably give it another go for £10 but can't remember if I played the PS+ version. I wasn't a huge fan of the game but thought it deserved a sequel.
I think Sony might be testing the waters and if the remaster does well, they might relent and green light a sequel.
I was also expecting them to announce a Bloodborne remaster. Its not something I'd be interested in but they've legally removed mods allowing the game to run at 60fps which made think they were going to release their own version that runs at 60fps.
The other main things I took from last night are SW Jedi Survivor is a PS+ Extra so will definitely play that.Borderlands 4 releasing in September. That'll be a day one purchase.
This year I'll play those two plus Forza Horizon 5 in the spring but other than that, I'm going to carry on going back to old games which I've really got into of late.
Kind of tempted by Warriors:Abyss. And happy to see Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater has a release date.And for a tenner, I'll likely pick up the Days Gone remaster though, yeah it was OK but nothing special. More Benny Hill moments running away from zombies
Looks like I'm sticking with Forbidden West (PS4) to the end, despite my complaints ;) Knocked out most of the side stuff, maybe one or two combat machines I've scanned but not killed, apart from that the rest should pop while finishing the story. Shouldn't take too long, so should probably be considering what's next now....
What about Evil West? Continue the westerly theme.

Yeah, if a game is going to include an easy mode, it should... i don't know... be easy? Half of games these days should rename their easy mode to - slightly easier than normal but still a pain.I get that developers want you to play the game as designed, but I think if I want to ruin the balance, they should let me. At least then I'll have more chance of seeing the whole game, rather than giving up early on/mid way through due to frustration/annoyance.
I'll go back to Evil West at some point, think I need something a bit more laid back next. Don't remember dying too much in Evil West, but do seem to remember it being a bit on the tough side, even on easy

Nice one Deck. I enjoyed FW (apart from those 3 or 4 fighting pits) but once was enough for me. I might do the Zero Dawn remaster one day though. Was that a £10 job? I can't remember.I'm in the mood for a tower defense game but I think I've played them all now.
Here's a bit of a strange question but do any of you guys have old/spare PS3 controllers in decent working order that you'd be willing to sell?

I've got a fairly decent for now and a OK at best back up but they're so flimsy (even new) compared to Xbox controllers and PS4/PS5 controllers, I do worry how long they'll last. Especially given their age.
I'm going through a PS3 phase at the moment but knowing me, I'll be massively into something else next week and it'll go into hibernation again for months/years.

Deck, I think I've found a tower defence game on PS5.Fantasy Tower Defence. It did look like the port from PC to console was a bit of a mess in terms of the difficulty being insanely hard/impossible. However, looking at a thread on PSNP, it was patched to make it OK.
It looks a bit cheap n' cheerful in the vain of Swamp Defence.
I'll have to have a look, something like that might scratch an itch for a change of pace. Half tempted by Hexascape Cyber Defense as well

Ping! Fantasy Tower Defense. Enjoyed it. Played a little of Hexascape Cyber Defense but on the fence about it, might be one that grows on be but it's a wee bit convoluted.And played a fair bit of Warriors: Abyss. Samurai/Dynasty Warriors hack, slash and hack some more, only roguelike. Pretty addictive and it's looking pretty platable as well (famous last words...)

Just the last level, tried it 5 or 6 times before I managed it (by being lazy and watching a YouTube vid with the easiest way to do it). The rest was fine
Warriors: Abyss is definitely looking platable...but maybe not in one sitting. I think trying to finish it with 20 different characters, I'd be losing the plot towards the end. Might just try one or two a day and chip away at it. No real difficult trophies left, just a bit of luck needed and time
