ghost_writer | 17 comments There appear to be two different Jack Harts listed on GoodReads who have their author listings mixed up. One is a former editor of The Oregonian and mainly writes books about writing. The other is an author of gay erotic/romantic fiction. The first Jack Hart's books are all mixed together with the 2nd Jack Hart's book listings, although they appear to be two completely separate people. The first Jack Hart is also listed on here as "Jack R. Hart," but that's not a name he goes by on any of his works and seems to have contributed to the confusion.

Author Listing for Jack Hart who writes gay erotic/romantic fiction:

Note in the 2nd Jack Hart's listing, "Storycraft," "Wordcraft," and "Skookum Summer" are also listed, but he does not appear to be the author of those works.

*"Wordcraft": https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/5...
*"Skookum Summer": https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/2...

From this recent CMOS interview, the Jack Hart who wrote these books indicates he has only written "Skookum Summer" as his single fiction novel: https://cmosshoptalk.com/2021/06/08/j...

This is also that Jack Hart's author bio from University of Chicago Press, which lists all his works: https://press.uchicago.edu/books/hart...

Elvenn | 5792 comments Hello!

Well, I've tried to move the all books to their right profile, starting from the default "Jack Hart" profile: https://www.goodreads.com/author/show...
(where all the books added with an author with that name will usually end).

For the former editor's books, I've created a separate "Jack Hart" profile that's linked with his claimed profile to show how he is credited on the covers.

Let me know if I've missed any book!

Since the editor has chosen to have his profile as Jack R. Hart, which entirely includes Jack Hart, there is no reason to have him keep two separate profiles. I will merge them.
