WEEK TWENTY-FIVE: This week's discussion question -- do you lend out your books? Are there any specific books you won't lend out?

Also, if you lend out books, do you write your name in the cover?

Liz says "I've been really wanting to purchase one of those stamps that say "From the library of..." It's always my favourite thing when I purchase used books and can see its history on the first few pages. It also helps to get them back again after you lend it out to friends. 😂"

Carol (cquan01) | 601 comments I don’t lend out books or cars 😬. I keep 99% of my
books. I am very finicky with my physical books. I don’t drink or eat while reading and often will try to borrow the book from Libby or hoopla so I can eat and read without I have given 3 star or below books to a friend or donated to a Little Free Library.

Kim Hampton | 266 comments I used to lend out books, but I've had so many disappear that I very rarely do it anymore. Once in awhile I will let someone that I trust take one, but only if it's something I don't care about getting back. I won't lend out "special" books.

Lynn Davidson | 108 comments Hi Lindsey, I do lend out books, but I keep a record of to whom, when lent out, and when it is returned. Even so, I might have lost one as it still has not been returned. I put a name label in some. My biggest disappointment is when I lent out a book that is special to me because of how God touched my life through it, and one friend returned it with a broken spine. She apparently rolled the pages back while reading it. That little book will never look the same but is still cherished. (Out Of My Bondage by Marion B. West)

Beth | 212 comments I used to lend books to friends, and occasionally co-workers. Really bad experiences dictate that I no longer trust as I once did. There are two exceptions which are my sister and my closest friend. And my closest friend doesn't usually read the same books as I do... 😊 When I finish with some of the paperbacks, I give them to the local detention center library.

Roberta SOME books -- not the real gems! I love my friends, but.......

Karin | 2 comments I would only lend a book outside this house if I didn't mind not getting it back and would definitely write my name inside of it if I did.

Karin | 2 comments Darn, I forgot to shelve two of my books properly to show up in my tracking here, but I do have the complete stuff listed elsewhere to past at the year's end. I have only 2 more to go. So far I have only opted for a book to meet a challenge here once, but it came up as a possibility for a couple of other things.

I may end up having to choose books just for this, of course, but have lots of time. That said, as things revert to normal I won't be reading as much any more :).

I used to lend books out more than I do now, these days it's just to my mom and a coworker and I know I'll always get them back. I do have a "From The Library Of" stamp that I bought on Etsy, but I often forget to use it.
