Kim has a few meetings with Ted Morgan, the therapist she trusts but doesn’t really let him counsel her. What do you make of their relationship and these meetings? How was he able to help her without Kim’s total cooperation?

Sharon Kallenberger Marzola | 3474 comments Ted is a great therapist who is fond of Kim. He understands her more than she thinks he does. What is clear is that Ted knows how to talk about Kim's issues without actually talking about them. I'm sure that is why Kim trusts him. He respects her boundaries.

Ted helps Kim by letting her lead the discussion. Giving her an outlet that she controls is more than anyone else ever gave her. I was very surprised when Ted revealed what other therapist did to her.

~Teresa Kim and Ted have a great relationship. She trusts him completely. She doesn’t have to worry about what Ted thinks of her because he has always let Kim be who Kim is at any given time in her life.

Lisa - (Aussie Girl) Thank Goodness Kim has Ted. I'm sure his kindly counsel over the years has been important in Kim not breaking down completely. HIs insights into Kim's character and trauma are really important for the reader as well. Gives us more information about what is going on in Kim's head from a different perspective other than her own.

Ted is highly skilled at what he does. He’s the one controlling their conversations while at the same time letting her feel like she is. He’s actually helping her without her realizing it. It’s a great technique, the only one that could possibly work for someone like Kim.

I love their relationship and it works for both of them.

Lynn (ftbooklover) I want Ted as my therapist.
